ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

thanks!! im so excited to get home to see the pictures TJ sent us today! (Over 1,000!!!)

those dresses - i LOVE them! i had a range with the bridemaids.....most are "bigger" in the chest area :) but then i have one who is like the smallest girl in the world! but they all liked them and were happy with the fit :)

i was wondering if that was you jess! i felt weird like, introducing myself to anyone or asking, you know? but its kinda crazy how small of a world it is!

hahaha no not at all. i was afraid for my group! a group of our guys would be parked outside of one of their rooms....which was RIGHT next to the towel stand and some days were just ridiculous. they first had rosario and crew play "i like it" on repeat over the loud speakers. AND THEN they would go and blare it from their room speakers on repeat.....or at 9am.....

TA Wendy here... I just returned last night from 2 nights at the Royal Cancun and 2 nights at the Royal PDC with a group of travel agents invited specifically to visit with the wedding staff and to see a couple of "mock weddings".

So we got to watch a Mayan ceremony as well as a Christian ceremony held in the Gazebo. I have to say the Mayan was just amazing. Calling in all of the elements, of earth, water, air and fire, ... very spiritual and unique!

We also got to have a full reception dinner in one of the ballrooms, and one in Pelecanos as well.

We saw a couple of real weddings going on, one on the beach and one on the grassy center courtyard area. Everybody was most obviously having a fantastic time. Throughout the resort, the staff is fantastic, food delicious, rooms spacious and beautiful and the beds soooo comfy! (Love the pillow  menu!)

The Royal remains one of my very top picks for resorts in the area. They really have it together and will make your special day just amazing!

Best wishes to all!

TA Wendy

Congratulations FutureMrsYak!!! Glad everything was perfect:) I love your hair style and starfish, you looked beautiful:) Thanks for the comments about the resort photographer... good to know you loved them.

I told my hubby at one point, I need to tell the girls on that website the stress alllll year is not necessary!! I was so worried and stressed for a year, we met with Michele the day before the wedding for a half hour and she totally had everything set the exact way we wanted it! I would have not done one thing different.

SPAzul was AWSOME!! My hair and make up was perfect. I know the stereotypical thing to say is that you feel the prettiest on your wedding day. But I must admit whether it sounds tacky or not, I truely felt the prettiest on my wedding day then I have ever felt in my life. And I believe I will never, ever, feel as beautiful as  I did on our wedding day. Thank you to the lovely ladies at SPAzul.

The photographer from the resort was awsome! He brought us all around the resort and did tons of pictures. They called me the day after the wedding, with the website to see the pictures and select the amount I purchased with my package. I emailed them Friday night with my picture selection. The album was at the front desk waiting for me Sunday at 5! The photographer made me feel awsome, he just kept saying "Wow Nicole you are beautiful, you make my job so easy, you are such a natural!" lol now I know they say that to everyone, but it worked and made me feel so great!

We did a semi private reception at Albatros. The food was AMAZING! It was the best meal I ate all week. We had a garden salad, and a beef tourpedo...it was basically 2 small filet mignons. They were good better than I've ever had! The service was awsome, and the cake looked and tasted great.

We missed the cocktail hour doing pictures, but just about every guest made a point to tell me how great the food was. When we met with Michele the night before she asked if there was specific food selections we wanted or if there was any allergies. I asked how many we could choose, and she said they would send all hot and all cold on the menu, unless I want different. So of course I told her to send them all, if someone doesn't like somthing they don't have to eat it!

Michele was great. The day after the wedding I went down to pick up my stuff and she was there. Another lady talked to me and gave me the items. Michele had all of my extra stuff all set up in a bag behind her desk for me. She wrapped my sand ceremony up with bubble wrap and packaging tape. I didnt open it until we got home and all of the sand stayed put. (Although, customs in Mexico made us open it up to show them what it was) But the TSA person felt bad when he realized what it was and taped it all back together for us.

We saw about 5 or 6 weddings going on within the 7 days we were there. The resort was gorgeous and all of our guests had an awsome time. Nobody wanted to leave!! Weather was awsome, it rained one day for about 10 minutes, but it was still sunny out anyways!

Awe Randi.renstrom, thanks for posting the link to your pics... they are absolutely beautiful. Each and every time I see pics of a new wedding at the Royal it just gives me peace of mind. It's true everyone worries but by the looks of things we really don't have to. I only hope that I will be lucky like all the brides before me to have such a perfect day! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

our photographer (friend of ours) just posted his teaser pics for us.....the rest will be up tomorrow (over 1,000!) and we will get the cd of pics tomorrow too....i can't wait! but here is the link

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
