I'm not sure where you're from, but I'm from Hamilton (ON) and I've been working with Martine from Tripcentral and she is incredible! She's gotten us a great rate for the Royal, I can always reach her and she responds to all my questions the day I call or email her... I'm really happy with her.

I had tried destinaitonweddings.com but their prices were higher than what I could find for myself... so I decided to go with someone else (and I still haven't gotten my $50 deposit back and it's been over 6 mths!)

Good luck with your search

Hi to all the Royal brides. Newbie here.

What a great thread!!! So much information that I have found helpful. Thanks to Oscar Enrnie for the form you sent me but we have that one from the resort. Still need specifics.

Are there any Canadian brides that are having their civil ceremony at the Royal? FI and I now have our long form BC from our provincial governments in Canada and are wondering where we get them translated and where to get the Apostillehuh.gif Even further we are living in the US so we may have to mail eveything back to the Mexican consulate in Canada. If they loose the paperwork that will not allow us to get married. We have approx 4 months until wedding and any help from Canadian brides who have gone through this process would be appreciated. Thank you for your help. I'm starting to stress that I won't have enough time to get this accomplished and I can't seem to find specific info about it on the forum or the net. Please help!!!

Sorry my first post to this thread is an urgent cry for help.

Hey gals, I know the thread title says RPDC Brides, but can you make a little room for a groom to be? :)

The wedding is planned for Jan/Feb 2010 and I stumbled on this website and have been trying to read as much as I can before asking questions. Took me the whole day to read this thing. Anyway I was happy reading the posts from the start of this thread from Antonia, Becky, etc but by the end I was a bit disappointed with the price increases and the "no outside vendor(s)" policy. Now does this include musicians as well? We wanted to hire a salsa band to play for us for 1/2 the night, but with this new rule it could blow the budget and possibility. Does anyone know what bands the RPDC has under their payroll?

We'll probably still stay at the RPDC and the GPR (For those with kids) since we want to be close to 5th Av., but might consider an off-site wedding with Ajua if RPDC is tight with the outside vendors.

Also can someone give me Micaela's email address? Tried to contact Zulma but she is gone till October.

Thanks

Of course there's room for grooms!thewave.gif

We haven't set our date yet, and consequently have yet to book the wedding, so I'm afraid I can't help you with your vendor questions. (I'm curious about this too.) But I can at least provide you with Micaela's email: [email protected]

Welcome and good luck with everything!!!

I have been working with Patty and I received a quote from her yesterday which stated in the Policies and Restrictions: "* All services required by the couple for the wedding ceremony or reception will be supplied by BD Real Hotels, it is not allowed outside vendors." I just sent her an email asking about using an outside photographer, so I will let you know what I hear.

I am having trouble selecting my menu!! I was dissapointed that there wasn't any Mexican food offered on the banquet menus!! sad.gif What have you all selected to serve for dinner??

Any advice from brides who have already had their wedding at RPDC on what food is good and what is to be avoided?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
