  1. Hey Geminie, We are leaving this week for the royal so I will ask them about your items. They are really pretty! Are you sure it would be ok if I used them? If I do, I could bring them home with me and mail them myself if you would prefer. That you would know for sure that you would get them! Let me know what you think! I am getting excited! Our wedding is in 10 days!!!
  2. Welcome back Katy and I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your puppy. I am sure your heart is broken and I feel sad for you. I know that pets are such special, loved little family members. I am glad that your wedding was wonderful and thank you so much for your review. Take care.
  3. Oh thank you SOOOOOOO much Geminie and Jentwo!!!! Your reviews were both excellent and have provided insight for my wedding that is coming up so fast! I love hearing about all of the details and it is nice to know what to expect from recent brides. Reading your reviews has me very excited! Thank you so much!!!
  4. Hi everyone! I just wanted to send best wishes to Athena! I hope that you have an amazing time. Have a safe and super fun trip!
  5. Thanks for your suggestion. The starfish jewel is darling!
  6. Thanks for your reply! It is nice to hear that they worked well for you!!! I will order some now...
  7. I love bouquet jewels and I am wondering if those of you that have had them could post pictures. I am not sure how many to order and use for a bouquet of all roses! Thank you for sharing!!!
  8. I am thinking having a cluster of blume boxes with flowers for reception centerpieces. Have any of you past or future brides used them or seen their quality in person? I like the idea of them but I do not want them to look cheap or leak! Thanks so much for your input!!!
  9. Welcome home Geminie!!! I can't wait to hear all about your wedding and stay at The Royal!!! Your video was incredible. So artistic and not the typical wedding video. I love it! Congratulations! I also wanted to say that I hope you have an incredible wedding Katy. I think you are leaving tomorrow and I am super excited for you. I CAN'T WAIT to see all your pics and hear about all the details! Congratulations girls!
  10. Your pictures are so beautiful! The bridesmaid dresses that I ordered just arrived and my initial reaction was that they might be too bright. I then remembered seeing some of your pictrues on Elizabeth's blog so I looked at them again and I am now excited. They are a similar color as your bridesmaid dresses and yours look so pretty in all the photos! Thank you so much for sharing all of them. You are such a pretty bride - LOVE your dress!!! Elizabeth is photographing my wedding on Jan.28, 2009 and I can only hope that they are as beautiful as yours!!!
  11. Hi everyone! First off, I love your long thread Katy with all the photos. All of your wedding details are beautiful! I can't wait to hear all about your wedding once you get back. Your choices are incredible and I can't get over how organized you are! Have a blast at your wedding and know that we are all thinking about your special day! I just wanted to tell everyone that I was emailed some info today from the hotel that I found pretty helpful. I thought that some of you may want to see it if you have not seen it already. This forum has helped me so much that I wanted to get it to all of you as soon as I saw it! I also have files with the floral arrangements and menus if anyone is interested! Questions and answers.doc
  12. I was thinking about the same thing for the bridesmaids. If you look back to post #129 there is a link to the spa services. I am not sure if they are the most recent prices but it should give you an idea of what to expect!
  13. Congratulations Geminie! Have fun and I can't wait to hear all about your special day!!! I am still searching for a song to walk down the isle to as well. What songs are you guys planning on using as your first dance? I was also wondering if you are having a MC to direct the reception or if someone from the hotel/DJ does this? What about tipping people. I believe this was touched on a little while back but I am clueless as to how much a typical tip would be to the photographer (we are using Elizabeth Medina), the wedding coordinator at the hotel, band, etc? This blog is so helpful and I too am very excited to see upcoming pictures of the wedding!!!!
  14. I was wondering about the hair and make-up services also. Does anyone recommend wearing hair up or down? I love my hair down but I am worried that the humidity will make it frizzy. I am also wondering if The Royal uses a certain brand of cosmetics? I am getting married at 2pm and I am wondering how long I can expect my make-up to last!!!
  15. Hi Athena, I agree with you that there should be a forum dicussion to help brides get the right info about the area where they are getting married. How many thousands of Canadian/American brides get married in Mexico yearly Someone must know how to proceed correctly. FI and I have also been struggling to get correct info on the process to have a civil ceremony in Playa del Carmen. We are also getting married a the Royal and we are Canadians living in the U.S. so everything has to be mailed back and forth to Canada. It is so confusing. I get a different answer everytime I talk to anyone at the Embassy of Mexico in Ottawa or any Cdn government agency in general. I will PM you with the info we have received so far. We will figure it out together. So glad I found your post.
  16. Thank you...Thank you... Thank you I have been searching this forum and the internet for relevant info on how to have a civil marriage and the documents required for PDC, MX. So much frustration but then I found this thread. FI and I are Cdns living in the US. I have called numerous government agencies in Canada and Mexico trying to get a straight answer. Each time I call I get a different answer as to what I need to do. I'm from AB and FI from MB so it appears like we need to send our long form, birth certificates to Ottawa to get them authenticated, then Foreign Affairs Canada sends them to the Mexican Embassy in Ottawa for the apostille and then the Mexican Embassy mails the documents back to us in a postage paid envelope we provided originally. Now I am not a gambler but... what are the chances this goes well and the paperwork is not lost by multiple government agencies I was also told a 2 month process. I have yet to figure out when or where to get them translated to Spanish b/c we are in the US and have to mail everything back to Canada. FI and I will eventually figure it out because it is important for us to have the civil ceremony in Playa del Carmen. So best of luck, it all works out in the end...eventually. Ha Ha
  17. Hi to all the Royal brides. Newbie here. What a great thread!!! So much information that I have found helpful. Thanks to Oscar Enrnie for the form you sent me but we have that one from the resort. Still need specifics. Are there any Canadian brides that are having their civil ceremony at the Royal? FI and I now have our long form BC from our provincial governments in Canada and are wondering where we get them translated and where to get the Apostille Even further we are living in the US so we may have to mail eveything back to the Mexican consulate in Canada. If they loose the paperwork that will not allow us to get married. We have approx 4 months until wedding and any help from Canadian brides who have gone through this process would be appreciated. Thank you for your help. I'm starting to stress that I won't have enough time to get this accomplished and I can't seem to find specific info about it on the forum or the net. Please help!!! Sorry my first post to this thread is an urgent cry for help.
  18. Hello everyone, I love all the info, pics and ideas that this forum has to offer. I am getting married at the Royal in Playa del Carmen in January 2009. Most of the planning is now done but just all the little details to finalize. I have enjoyed reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of the weddings. I am trying to find detailed info on the civil ceremony for Playa del Carmen. FI and I are both Canadians living in the US and are struggling to get info on how to get birth certificate (long form) transalted, then legalized before we go. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!
