ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

I just got married at the Royal PDC Oct 2, 2010 - I want to do it again!!   :)  It was the best time!   We did the legal ceremony.   They gave us the docs in spanish, when we got home, I scanned them and emailed them to a certified translator, who then for a fee of $135 translated them and sent me notorized copies in the mail.    That only took about 2-3 days, then I took them to the social security office and that was all they needed, my new social security card has been ordered, now I just have to sit and wait for it to come in the mail (about 2 weeks they said).   So until then, I live in limbo wondering which last name to give whenever I'm asked.   lol.

Thanks, Chicagobride! I was worried that the chicken would be too dro or not have enough flavor without the seafood. We are going with two entrees. Our old WC said it was ok as long as we let them know and marked each card so the servers would know.

I tasted the chicken (minus the seafood) during our site visit and it was good.  Everything we tasted was good!  The only thing I didn't like was the duck salad...but then again I've never eaten duck before so I'm no expert.  wink.gif

We are going with the 3 lettuce salad, the filet, and the canoli's.  YUM!   I'd like to give my guests a choice but I was told no, IF I get them to change their mind then I'll do chicken and filet.

OMG Smickinney! What an awesome review! I am so super excited now! Only 52 days left!!!!! Thank you so much for putting all of that in! I am so happy that we chose to book Ivan and the dance floor. One question, do you have a pic of the flower bouquets that your mom made that you don't mind sharing?  Thanks so much!

Wow!  Great review smckinney!  I def. learned a few things.  I think it's great that your mom made the boquets!  What a great idea.  Did she just get the flowers around town or did you have to go to Walmart?  I know our Walmart sells flowers...anyone know if the Walmart down there does?

I also didn't know about the lanterns.  I never saw them available on any sheet.  Do you mind sharing how much they cost you?

I think its great you showed them little maps and examples - that is GREAT!

Thanks for sharing everything!

Hi Everyone!

I am a Royal PDC bride getting married on Feb 26, 2011.  I have been lurking here trying to read as much as I possibly can without my eyes going crossed for the last two days and I have to tell you that you all have made me feel soooooo much better about my own experiences with my planning process!!

Like many of you I would get frustrated about lack of responses to my questions (and when I do get answers sometimes they aren't even what I asked!!).  Because of the slow response time, I have definitely slacked off on my own planning when it comes to everything that goes through the resort themselves.  I was just beginning to panic about that until I found this sited and read all of your helpful comments.  Thank you all!!

I've noticed quite a few of you have problems getting Elsa to respond through the Base Camp.  I have noticed that when I have sent her messages through there she doesn't get them, but when I email her directly she responds semi-quickly.

I'm going to continue reading some of the more recent posts now, but wanted to introduce myself!!  Happy planning, girls!!  woot.gif

Hi Jozee - that is exactly right :) they give you the paper work and than you take it to get transalated and notirized than off to the social security building than the DMV, bank and everything else.

ChicagoBride - Thanks! I actually have that list :) we actually really like what he has on there so were just going to tell him to use that do his thing :)

How do you translate the paper work? I'm so confused! Symbolic or Civil? My FI really wants to get legally married there, but I know it would be easier to get it done here. Don't know what to do!?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
