ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

I used to live in Southie, but we just moved to Melrose because we needed a bigger place with more space! We have dogs and now they have a backyard to play in :)

I work downtown next to the Prudtential Center though, so I would definitely love to meet up! I manage a restaurant there so I work crazy hours but I usually know my schedule in advance. How is your planning going so far?

You can send him pictures of what you want so he can quote you a price or he will send you a list with prices if you tell him what flowers you are looking for.

Thanks!!

I told him what kind of flowers I was looking for and he sent me pictures to choose from. I was looking for very simple arrangements so I think that's why I got the price that I did, but regardless he is very reasonable. I think if you have some ideas of what you are looking for he can def create if for you or get pretty close to it.

Hi Averie!!

Congrats and welcome to the forum!! There is so much information on here that it can be overwhelming but you will definitely be prepared when you finally start your planning. As you will find out, The Royal tends to change their policies. When you get your contract, make sure to read it thoroughly. At one point they didn't even allow outside photographers. Outside vendor fees changed from $100 to $350.

This forum has helped my sanity many times and the sharing of information almost makes planning seamless.

Jenny,

For your flowers, what is he arranging for you? Wedding party florals and table center pieces? I'm trying to decide if I want to deal with centerpieces or just do candles. Do you know if he supplies candles as well? We're having an indoor reception and I don't want it to be too plain but I also don't want to spend $$$ on flowers when we can't even take them home and we end up giving them away for free.

If anyone else is interested I happen to have the pricing sheet for bridal bouquets and boutonnieres from The Royal. You can compare prices. PM me and I'll send it.

Hi Janna,

I'm having him do just the wedding party florals, mainly roses and he's throwing in some other flowers to give it more dimension. I'm really not a flower kind of person so it wasn't an important thing for me.The only flower I really like are orchids and to do everything with orchids would get really expensive! My reception is on the beach so I'm doing candles and probably some rose petals but that's about it. Since most of my guests are flying out the next day, the arrangements would just go in the trash unlike here where ppl take them back home. Let me know if you have any other questions cheesy.gif

Elsa sent me the wedding checklist since my final payment is due at the end of the month. She included a pdf. of the names of flowers, the colors they come in and when they are in season. I thought this was really helpful. If anyone wants it just PM me.

Perfect! Thanks for that info Jesmcan. How much is he charging for candles? Thanks!!

Well I am just getting these small square glass holders 4 per table and they were $4 each. So I not sure how much an arrangement gos for like the one I described.

I rented a ton of luminary candles through my WC who is getting them from Cancun and those were a lot pricier.

At one point I was debating ordering them from here, http://www.qcandles.com/

but than I really did not want the hassle of lugging more stuff down. I already have 5 bags yikes! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
