The cruise was great of course except we had to miss Cozumel, Mexico because of the swine flu.

I will suggest if you are shipping your dress to make sure you have business days cushioned before the wedding. This will help in case your dress gets lost which unfortunately was the case for me. Thanks to the quick thinking of the shipper I used I did this and my dress was located and delivered before the wedding.

Take your time and enjoy every minute. I want a do over cause it went by so fast ;-)
Sarcie, i'm so glad everything turned out well! How did you like Freedom? Did you make it to Grand Cayman?

Make sure you are getting all perks you are supposed to by using a TA. Make sure you shop around, and get referrals! I actually went through Royal myself. Each guest booked there own reservation and handled there own payments. I just was the leader of the group and had to be the one that made any type of changes. It wasn't to bad with 20 sailing.

Thanks for all your answers Andrea and Ashley! I'll have to give my drinking friends those rum runners.

Jaime
Rum Runners are fab! We're actually taking them with us this weekend for our wedding. We learned the hard way of our first time on a cruise with a huge bar bill!!

GL With planning, feel free to ask away if you have any questions!!

Hello Ladies!

I'm so excited... We booked our cruise!! We set sail on the Mexican Riviera from October 10-17, 2010. We also decided to get married at Las Caletas while in port at Puerto Vallarta. We have a plan! Woo Hoo!!

Since we're going to be at sea for two days before we arrive in Puerto Vallarta we decided to have our bachelor and bachelorette parties while at sea the day before our wedding. Anyone else doing something like that? My FI called the casino for his bachelor party so I have to choose another location on ship... I don't even know what they have!

I wanted to ask you all what your plans are leading up to your wedding... are you going to try to not see you FI's before the wedding?? We decided that we will stay in separate rooms leading up to the wedding... silly considering we live together now! but we just thought we should throw in a little tradition.

Kathy! Is your wedding really in 3 days?! You must be so excited!!!

Bachelor and bachelorette parties on the cruise sound like a lot of fun! I'm getting married in port so I can't do that unless I really want to break tradition haha! I live with my FH too so I don't think we will stay in seperate rooms or try not to see each other because I think it will be too much hassle, I want this wedding to go as smoothly as possible so if we happen to not see each other that would be nice but I'm not going to sweat it wink.gif

Congrat Kathy. I hope you have a blessed day.

OK re the bachelorette party We stop in San Juan the night before the wedding so we are so gonna split up and party it up with friends in Puerto Rico. Then (bc we will be in a suite) I will sleep in the bed that night and fi will sleep on the sofa. Then that morning of the wedding he'll run out and go to the bm's room (he has his own room) and will get dressed there.

Our WC will have a car pick up fi and take him to the courthouse. The car will then bring him back to the ship. I'll take the car to the courthouse. FI will ride with the group to the wedding site. I'll ride in the car to the site. I know it seems like a lot but I really wanna keep with tradition on the not seeing him idea.

Congrats on your wedding and cruise! We are getting married the second day of our cruise in Key West, so having the stag parties on the ship night before. My FH has the casino and all the girls are having a cocktail / "slumber" party in our suite. We are going to have some drinks and girl talk in the room and FH will spend the night with one of the groomsmen the night before the wedding. So, he gets the casino but I get the suite before the wedding. =)

I should add... we also live together but have been overseas for the year before the wedding. The cruise will be the first time we have seen most of our friends and family for at least a year. We thought this allowed us to be somewhat "traditional" not spending the night together and time to catch up with friends, as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
