So...

The resort wedding planner had not gotten back to me with the new menu options for a private dinner. I'm clicking through the web-site yesterday trying to find them, but no luck so I called the wedding coordinator. I also noticed that the 4pm slot was still open on the wedding calendar and that was our spot

Debbie and I were discussing menus, etc. when she mentions that the new price is $75 per person! WHen we contracted it was $35 per person! That is over double the price! Needless to say I was not happy.

Then, she proceeds to tell me that they don't have my reservation! We put a deposit down in F-ing November! We're holding 20 rooms! They can't find the F-ing reservation! So, since I have no reservation, I have no wedding time either! So she took our reservation etc. THen, about 10 minutes ago I get an e-mail that my wedding time isn't available -- someone online "snuck in" and reserved our spot. The only available time is 10am! I called immediately! And then she informs me that the other couple isn't planning on bringing down any guests so maybe they will move. Damn straight they are going to move! SHe is going to call the resort and "see what they can do"

I think I need to go raid the liquor shelf before I kill someone!BangHead.gif

Did you not have a confirmation from when you paid your deposit? If so, I wouldn't waste time faxing that to them. Ugh- all these irresponsible WC/resort problems are really irritating me for you girls. Seriously, how do businesses operate like this and still pull in customers?

Yeah I would fire the coordinator if she were with an outside agency, but nope, she's with the resort.

They have our room reservation, but not the wedding reservation. There was another coordinator that I originally worked with who is no longer there and that is apparently when the reservation was lost. She basically told me this was my fault for not following up accordingly and noticing that my credit card was never charged.

Our only options are to take the 10 am slot or change resorts, but then "we don't know what rooms will be avaiable there..."

Yes I sent invites out! I calmly told her I had already spent $20,000 on this wedding so it would be what I wanted, not counting the money I would spend for ceremony decor and the reception etc. there. SHe said "Well, I don't know why you would have printed invitations..." If I could have reached through the phone I would have smacked her!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
