Hi there! I am using PhotoSouvenir for our photographer! I have heard great things about them. Go to their website and take a look at some of their pictures...I fell in love with their style of photography. If you do decide to use them, they do book up fast...just to let you know!! Good luck!

I am also bringing my own fabulous photographer; who I met on here. I fell in love with his work and he agreed to do my photo's for 4 days for the cost of his travel and room at the resort. It's definitely a personal preference .. but just be careful with the resort photog's. I have read (I can't remember if it was on here or the Dreams forums) about brides getting scammed by them when buying their pics when they wanted more than the package they bought - so were forced to pay very high prices for more pics.

We've hired a photographer in Punta Cana from HDC photography. The guys name is Arnaud and he seems really good from the pics on his website! His prices are fairly resonable for the amount of photo's you get. We too didn't think that the resorts packages had enough pics to justify the price....

Did anyone or is anyone planning on getting their makeup/hair done at the spa? I'm just so nervous because I don't want it to look bad, and no one that is coming to the wedding can do either, otherwise they would just do it for me. Anyone have pictures or reviews??

Thanks for any help!

Hi Ashley! I just got back from my wedding at Dreams. My bridesmaids and I all got our hair done at the salon and it came out very nice. They were extremely patient with me especially since I had no idea what I wanted to do with it! I would recommend getting your hair done there, they did a beautiful job on all three of us...They also did my MIL and my aunt's hair which came out and they looked great. We opted to do our own makeup but that was just a personal preference!

Oh and about photographers....I did see the resort photographers wandering around all week. You could see the sample of their photos in the main lobby. Their pictures looked very nice however I was glad that I brought my own photographers, TammyB and Melissa from the forum! It was really nice having the girls with me throughout the day. They were with me in the salon, then in my room while I was getting ready. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. The resort photographers do take nice pictures however I'm extremely happy that I made the decision I did. It was definitely worth it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
