Hi Terri, we choose to stay on the honeymoon suite for 8 nights to get the comp. package. The reason why is because we wanted to customize our wedding in the way we wanted it, for example, I didn't want to use the resort photographer (personal preference) so I didn't want any package that included pictures (which both of them do!). That is one of the reasons why we choose the comp. package. Any private dinner includes the open bar. I hope this helps. friday.giffriday.giffriday.gif

Girls, I'm going crazy regarding the dj vs iPod. We think we want a DJ now... lol so, MANNIA DJ is supposed to be great. The price of the Dj service is 800usd and includes:

Sound system

Professional Dj

Dj booth

Wireless microphone

Lighting (The light that is included are 2 robotic moving head and we use this to light up the dancefloor)

4 hour service

each extra hour is 150 usd.

Has anyone use any other DJs? I really wanted a lighted dancefloort, but this DJ doesn't provide it... any suggestions or ideashuh.gif feedback.gif

We are planning on having a destination wedding in DR in probably Feb. or May 2011. I have been doing my research and Dreams seems to be the one to go with. I just wanted to ask I noticed some of you are doing the free wedding package and adding stuff on. wanted to know why are you doing it that way is it because of the number of guest you are having at your wedding or because it would be less expensive? I am going crazy trying to figure out which way to go.... free wedding or Love / ultimate smile35.gif

Also....is the resort charging extra for a private reception and open barhuh.gif

Thanks in advance.....
Terri

Hi Terri welcome to the forum, I chose the free package because I didn't want or need some of the things in the other packages and it came out cheaper for me to do it this way. The private reception and open bar are inculded in whichever package or choice you make.

eliana - we are just including spaces for them to eat. we're not doing our reception at the resort, but i saw a thread a few months ago about this and it seemed to be the consensus that people included them in the guest count. especially if you're flying people in and they aren't local.

welcome terri! you'll be surprised how things will fall into place.. it just seems like a lot of information at once! if you decide to use the resort photographer, then one of the other packages may work best for you, but otherwise, the complimentary wedding package seems to be the most popular. it all really depends on what you're looking for though. if the packages you pay for seem to include a lot of stuff you wouldn't use, consider downsizing!

my flowers are all done!!! got an email yesterday that i can pick them all up now! this includes all of my bouquets, bouts and centerpieces!! perfect timing too because we officially leave in less than a month! YIKES!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
