Can you PM me with pics and details of the dress? What size is it? I have someone who is interested in purchasing a wedding dress so I can forward her all the information. Or email me @ Jolavarria@middleatlantic.com

Thanks Ladies.... I think I am going to go with the free package and add on from there...it is a toss up between DPC and DPR. I have been emailing the WC at DPR and she has been getting back to me promptly which I was surprised after reading about the WC's taking forever to get back to people.

Toya Love the dress!!!

We are planning on having a destination wedding in DR in probably Feb. or May 2011. I have been doing my research and Dreams seems to be the one to go with. I just wanted to ask I noticed some of you are doing the free wedding package and adding stuff on. wanted to know why are you doing it that way is it because of the number of guest you are having at your wedding or because it would be less expensive? I am going crazy trying to figure out which way to go.... free wedding or Love / ultimate smile35.gif

Also....is the resort charging extra for a private reception and open barhuh.gif

Thanks in advance.....
Terri
Apparently we paid for the private reception/bar. I remember paying extra for the dinner (we got the platinum)..wasn't really impressed by it either...
You don't even have to make a decision on that until you get there. We didn't. I only requested which terrace we wanted.

Hey girls.... any men in here?? Me and my fiance have started our search. We plan to get married in March 2011. I had a question about the wedding packages I am hoping you can answer. We will most likely go with the free wedding package and do some add ons. Does that wedding package come with a private dinner? We will have approx 15 guests at our wedding. Since this resort is all inclusive, can we just decide to go to a restaurant? I mean, everyone is already paying for food and drinks with the all inclusive. We are having a reception when we come home, so for us, it is not worth it financially. If so, can we choose the restaurant and get a semi-private spot?? Thanks in advance, Clay

Hi Clay! I don't think there are any active men in the Dreams Punta Cana part, but welcome!! Its nice to see a man so active in the wedding planning. My fiance is now great with the forum, he says "Go ask the ladies on the forum someone will know" hahaha

The free wedding package does NOT include a dinner, and the cost for the gold dinner is $800 for up to 20 people. I think in theory you could do a semi-private reception, but if I am not mistaken (help me out here ladies) they cannot guarantee that they will be able to seat all 15 of you together at one table.

Have you thought about La Barcaza? It's a kind of catamaran/yacht hybrid sort of thing, and is not much more ($200 or $300 I think) than the traditional style reception at the resort. It includes a boat cruise, a buffet dinner for 20 people, and is much more unique! This is what I opted to do instead of the traditional reception, since my numbers are low. Now, if i had Toya's numbers it would be a different story! haha

Happy Planning, and feel free to ask us all the questions you like! :)

Oh and on a side note, since I just have to say it out loud, I am pretty sure my boss is going to sell me a pair of never worn Christian Louboutins!! They are seriously hot, and she is selling them to me SUPER cheap. She is an even 6, and I am more of a 6.5, which is why they will fit apparently. If she does sell them to me, I will have a pair of hot pink open toe pumps for sale. They are the same ones Tam wore for her wedding, if anyone is wondering! Will keep you all posted!

Hey Jenise, I will email you a picture of me in the dress, its not a very good picture but just so you can see what it looks like. I'm very petite so the dress is a size 4.

I'm not doing my own vows but I am going to say alittle something to him after the pastor does his part.

Hey Jenise-

We've decided not to write our own vows. I think its a really nice touch though. If he was into writing vows then maybe we would. I'm going to make a nice speech during dinner though.

Is anyone else writing vows?

Toya! that dress is beautiful!! I tried on an AMAZING Maggie Sottero dress at a trunk show but it was out of my budget.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
