I reserved the Bordeaux terrace yesterday, and I felt those old angry feelings at DPC from before. Even though I will only have about 13 or 14 people, we still have to pay for 20 people. That makes me really bitter... I would rather pay for 20 people and have la barcaza than pay for 20 people at a restaurant... argh!! Ok rant over lol
Nat:

I don't understand why you still have to pay for 20 people? Is it because you are getting a package?

Good Morning Ladies,

ok so heres's the latest with DPC, soo Deyanira emails me back after saying they didn't charge it and then says " Yes, sorry about the misunderstanding. For some reason there are 2 files with your name and now I found the one that has the charge info.

That is the deposit to hold the wedding date."

WTH.....they need to really get it together, why do I have 2 different files? they better get my sh*t straight cause I am getting very irriatated with DPC right now.

so ladies when the charge originally came thru as a hold in my account, it had someone elses name as the merchant, then when it actually posted to my account 5 days later it said DREAMS PUNTA CANA.

so now everything is straight and all this mess is done, and I actually got my new bank card in the mail last night so I'm better now lol......

Thanks to Erin, I can't wait to see the flowers I ordered come in today. Also I feel like getting some things done today so I guess my wedding planning mood is about to start again lol.....

Nat I thought you were getting the free package? they should not be charging you for 20 people unless you are paying for 1 of the other upgraded packages

Toya,

Sorry you had to deal with that whole mess sad.gif

You're in MD, you're not in a snow blizzard like I am in NJ? If I were home and not at work like I want to be, today would be a perfect online wedding shopping day for me. Hope you package gets there. Post picks when you get your flowers, I'd love to see them.

Have fun ladies. It's almost FRIDAY! Yah!

Toya- STOP Looking! You will drive yourself crazy if you don't... haha I'm glad to hear they *finally* got that stuff sorted out... WTH is right!!

As well, I am wondering about the pricing again. Since we would only have 13 or 14 people, can we just pay the per person rate? For example, $40 for the Gold menu x 14 people... or are we required to pay for 20 people minimum? I am sorry, this is not possible. The dinner package price will remain the same.

Was I clear enough, or should I ask a different way?

Hi Nat,

I really don't understand why she is asking you to pay for 20 people? I think you WC is confused....

Just to clarify, you are getting the COMP. package with your honeymoon suite, correct?

If so, email her back saying= DEAR CONFUSED WC: We are getting the complimentary wedding package and we would like to add a private dinner for 14 people only....

I just don't understand why she wants to charge you for 20 people....

Yesterday my WC emailed me back letting me know that paper lanterns on the terrace are NOT a problem! AWESOME! and she is so excited that her baby girl is coming soon! one more month and she will be out... I wonder if she will return to work after or not... well I'm getting all my answers now and saving all emails just in case! lol

ohh Nat I just firgured it out, the minimum is 20 people for any of the dinner packages, so thats why she is making you pay for 20 people since its a private function. If it were in a resturant and only semi-private they prolly would not make you pay for 20 people. The WC's are really bad at explaining things lol.... but I think no matter what you will have to pay the minimum of 20 people for a private function and then each additional person is an extra $40 or whatever price it is.

Ahhhh... I didn't know that.... It is good to know... it is not really fair for those who have under 20 people to have to pay for 20 to have one of the terraces....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
