  • 2 weeks later...

jenmheadrick. Would you be able to send me the pictures you have of the ceremony, reception and beach party. My e-mail is [email protected]. It would be great. The beach party sounds awesome. It is too bad there are so many extra costs for everything. I guess if you don't mind it would be great if you could send the costs for all of the different wedding ceremony packages. For example: What is included for $690 for the ceremony? Thanks

So ladies...I've already got my wedding date...first deposits are due next week.  besides hunting for a good deal on a wedding dress, and emailing different photographers, I feel like I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs...What do i do now!? I have 8 months left and I've already even started working on OOT bags....but what is there to do now? If i dont email Carolina with questions, I guess there's no need for her to email me.  lol I just feel like I'm not busy enough....like there is something i should be doing that I'm not......If i've had all my questions and concerns answered already by Carolina, will I not hear from her until the day we meet? It seems so up in the air :S

Hi everyone! I've been reading this post for months for info. but have never posted before. I will be getting married at Grand Palladium Bavaro on May,25 2013. We are having about 70 adults and another 7 kids. We were seriously considering doing a private dinner and a beach party but all the paperwork is so unclear as to how exactly that adds up. The private room is for around 5 hours but the dj and/or band are 3 hour sessions each and then the beach party is 3 hours. Does that mean we would have to cut the private reception short to move to the beach? What has everyone done or what are you guys planning to do? If all 77 of us want a semi-private dinner is it possible for us to do that or are we too many? Also, is there a microphone setup in the semi private dinner at least for speeches?

hey Jen....did you get this issue sorted out?? I was thinking about this because I am also bringing my own photographer from Canada....she will be a part of my wedding group....I have an email from Carolina saying the following:

Dear Jennifer,

Thanks for your email, I would like to inform you that the regulation was put in place by the hotel management and it is not negotiable, the fee is only applicable for local photographers and videographers that live in Punta Cana.

If the couple is bringing their own photographer or videographer from their country and he/she is part of the wedding guests, no fee is applicable.

If you have your own photographer you should be charged nothing.  It clearly says that here.  Hope she came around.

Omg I just realized your wedding is in a week!!!When do you fly out? you must be so excited!!! PLEASE come back after ur wedding and do tell ALL about it!! :) Congrats!

Yes, I did receive that same email from Carolina and that is what had confused me because our photographer does not live in Punta Cana. . I did explain to Carolina that our photographer was part of our wedding  only she was staying at another resort. I also said that she is NOT a Photographer who lives in Punta Cana and she said that teh fee still applies.

I guess we will see when we get there next wed!! Cross your fingers for us that we dont have to pay $500

Yes!! I AM SOOO EXCITED!! We fly out next wed the 20th.

I will definetly come back here and let you guys know everything for sure!! msnparty.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
