Married or going to be married at Grand Palladium Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

My fiancé and I are getting married at the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa in Punta Cana D.R in 2009. We actually went on vacation there last year and loved it! I have found some pictures and reviews of weddings that have taken place there but I would love to find someone on the forum who has gotten married there, just so I can ask some specific questions.

Any tips or info let me know!

Cynthia

Hi Cynthia,

My fiance and I are also considering Grand Palladium Punta Cana for our wedding in 2009. We stayed there from Nov 28 to Dec 6 2007 and loved it, but I did not see any weddings and at the time didn't think that I would be getting engaged and planning a wedding anytime soon !!!! Darn, I could have enquired more when I was there. So here's a holler out to anyone, everyone, please reply if you have been married at this resort, help us out wih any info.

Cynthia, do you have an address for the wedding coordinator in order to get ANY information on prices, locations for weddings, reserving a date etc? Could you please send me the pics/reviews you already have?

Thanks, Julie

Hey Julie,

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I hope you are able to get this!

Okay, so Nathan and I just came back from our travel agent. In terms of prices, this will all depend on what city your are flying from, how many people, group rate, etc... The hotel doesn't offer any additional discounts according to the wedding coordinator who's name and email I will give you too :)

I have read a review that a girl on this forum forwarded to another girl looking to get married at the Grand Palladium Resort in Punta Cana. Here is the specific link for that:

Here is a link to their public pictures too! :

So Nathan and I have decided we are going Jan 28-Feb 11, 2009 (2 weeks)

so I just e-mailed the wedding coordinator to confirm. She is very nice and will send a package of info that you will need to know about documents to fax, costs, etc...

Her name is Isyuney and her e-mail is acliente.palace@fiestahotelgroup.com

I hope this helps and let me know how you make out and if you have any new info to share. Maybe we will both end up getting married in the same week!!

Cynthia :)

I am also getting married at this resort but will be staying in the Palace section. We are leaving on Nov 27, 2008 and are getting married on Nov 30. The WC is the same for the Punta Cana and Palace sections. Even though I haven't gotten married there yet, I have been in touch with the WC's there since Sept and have got almost everything organized. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and I may be able to help you out. The WC for the Bavaro section is very quick and easy to work with, but our WC is not always very quick. I have got a few sample pics from them of bouquet upgrades they have done before as well as a pic of a beach ceremony. If you would like to see them, just PM me.

Are you saying the WC for the Bavaro section is different than the WC for the Punta Cana or Palace Section? I've have sent a few emails back and forth to Isyuney and have managed to confirm a date...April 16, 2009, but all my other questions as to pictures, locations, flowers, meals, extra's, etc, have basically gone unanswered. If you have ANY other info I would LOVE to receive it. We stayed in the Punta Cana Section last year, and would be very happy to return there. A TA with whom I have had some contact with has given me prices for pckgs to Palladium Bavaro, but nothing on Punta cana Section yet. So any TA's out there who might be able to get this info for me I'd appreciate it. Flying from Toronto, Fri, Sat or Sun departures, April 10, 11 or 12 2009, 1 and 2 week stays. Thanks for any and all info.

The WC is different for the Bavaro section. The one you have talked to is the WC for the Punta Cana & Palace sections. We did mos of our organizing of what we want while talking to Carolina from the Bavaro, but then we ended up booking in the Palace section, and the only thing I have heard back is conformation on our wedding date. No other questions were answered yet, and I am thinking of contacting Carolina again just to get a few questions answered. Everything is officially decided on the day after you arrive there, you meet with the WC and go through everything with her. I just like to have an idea of what I want beforehand.

I do know that everything usually says that the wedding is in the gazebo, but you can have the ceremony on the beach, and Carolina sent me a pic of on beach wedding, as well as some bouquets that they have done.

Would you mind sending me a copy of the pics she sent you? I can't imagine having nothing to go on until we arrive. I too just have a "yes" your date is saved, but nothing else. I want to start making STD's and invites, but I'd like more info on the packages at Gr. Palladium Punta Cana

Hi all Grand Palladium Brides!

I'm also booked at the Grand Palladium Bavaro for Jan 24 to Feb 7, 2009. My TA is a DW specialist and she is the one doing all the work to organize the actual wedding for me which is amazing! What a relief! She is in direct contact with Carolina and raves about how great and quick she is about getting back to her. I'll post info as it gets passed down to me from my TA. At this point, I'm waiting to hear back with the confirmed wedding date. We are hoping for Jan 28, so keep your fingers crossed for us! Any pics or info you guys have would be great! wink.gif

I really enjoyed talking to Carolina before we offically booked, as she was super quick. The one time my Mom emailed her and she wrote back about 3 hours later and apologized for taking so long to respond. Isyuney on the other hand does not respond very quickly at all. She is the WC for the Punta Cana & Palace, and I just wrote her again today to find out if I am ever going to get answers to my questions. I am going to get on this womans case until she responds right away to get me off her back it I have too. I read a review from a wedding in 2006 I think at the Punta Cana section and they said that there was a new WC that was not very quick. I am thinking this may be the same woman and she hasn't gotten any quicker. My day will still come and there will not ba a WC that will ruin it.

    • Economics as a career is highly rewarding in the current environment. We need economists to study agriculture in an increasingly changing global weather patterns, decode financial implications of economic plans as well as help the government formulates administrative policies. The options with this degree are endless.   If you are among those thousands of students looking for a career as an Economics Honours graduate but have no idea how - don’t worry. • Hi! I'm from the US (but I've been to the UK 6x- my finance says i'm not allowed to move there! lol) Many resort lines don't offer something like the dress rehearsal, which I think is crazy! It's such a smart idea!  Having been to Mexico so much, I find it so much more comfortable- Yes there are dangers but I don't find it any worse than Philly or NY. It is a country that gets SO MUCH money from the service industry- it literally benefits no one to mess with tourists. Your tip money at the bar is feeding someones family. Not that the DR is any different in that it relies on tourist $, but the vibe is just totally different.  In the DR, they were really very serious about us not leaving the resorts (we did- I don't believe in staying on resorts lol). Once off, we realized why. Now, full disclosure, we went right after the 2010 earthquake, so this was a) some time ago and b) right after a natural disaster. Once we left we just felt immediately uncomfortable. (We even saw a man approaching a goat with  a large gun and the Taxi driver seemed nervous and sped away- poor goat!) I find in Mexico everyone is SO respectful- in the DR I had guys make lewd comments (both from those off the resort, and more disturbingly from workers at the resort), grabbing at me, just generally super disrespectful and not at all comforting. My dad had to kick the room service guy out of our room bc he refused to leave when we asked!  This could have been completely isolated to the staff at our specific resort, but it definitely happened off resort as well. A la Anthony Bourdain, I have always considered myself a traveller, not a tourist, so I have zero interest in staying on a resort the entire time (really I'm not in love with resorts period lol), so for me, if I can't go off resort safely, what business do I have being there at all? Also they  made be throw out my coffee before I got on the plane- the coffee I got at the food court at the gate. I'm holding that grudge LOL. A long story short- it's not on my list of returns. I can honestly say that I'm not sure I would accept an invitation to a wedding in the DR- I think I'd rather save that money and go to Mexico! (or the UK, or Iceland, or just Europe in general lol)  I don't regret going, but I'd sooner go to Mexico if I'm looking for a beach!  That's just me- millions of people go there and have a great time! I guess it really comes down to what type of traveller you are (are you okay with being on a resort and just leaving for excursions)!
    • Hello, thank you so much for this it’s all very helpful.. are you from the UK OR US? ive never been and I probably won’t visit the destination until I get married! Oh my gosh I have looked at your resort it is beautiful!! my family have been to the Dominican.. can I ask why you didn’t find it as safe?   Thanks again
    • Hi! Well, I stumbled on this forum, and then when I realized it was run by a travel agency (while being really impartial- the fact that there are reviews for OTHER agencies was a good sign!) I didn't look any further! Their website, where you can fill out a contact form:  https://www.wrighttravelagency.com/ Babs actually sent me an email on a Sunday (she had been out of the office on Friday) so that's how we started- I was so impressed right off the bat! You may not get Babs, but I can only imagine that the entire office is amazing! We're getting married at Azul Riveria Cancun (formerly Sensatori). We chose it because we have kids coming. We actually just went down for the Brides Dress Rehearsal (A really cool program Karisma Resorts do, where they give you a special price/couple to go down and check out some resorts, meet wedding planners and vendors etcetc- it's great having never been there to leave knowing and seeing it all- http://www.memorablemomentsweddings.com/Memorable-Moments-Weddings-Dress_Rehearsal.cfm) I'm pretty laid back- it's Mexico. Where ever you are, how ever it's decorated, whatever the weather is- it's going to be gorgeous. I wanted a destination wedding so that I could not worry about things! It will be what it will be- and regardless of what it is, MEXICO! lol I did just see a post about travel guidelines for the DR (Below). Just something to consider, it seems really restrictive! Have you been to the DR? I'm struggling at the moment with people who are afraid to travel to Mexico, which I've always found funny because I've been 6 times and I'm still alive! AND only 3 of those times were on resorts! I felt the least safe of all my travels in the DR, so it's just something that I like to mention!
    • Hello, oh thank you that’s great, how can I come across her details? where are you getting married and how have you found planning so far?
