Also stated that I know that we will plan everything when we see her. No emails since then. I think if we are all planning the destination wedding then we can't expect to have total control over everything as we would expect at home. But that's the point, right?! :) I will be giving my update report in a couple weeks to let you know if there is anything you should request in advance!! :)
Wow you leave sooo soon! You must be so excited! Are you restless at night yet? hehe

I can't wait to hear how everything goes! I really don't want to bother Carolina so I hope by being laid back and not emailing her won't mess anything up important or screw me out of anything!

Your DIY's look awesome! I hope I have energy to put together some stuff before my wedding. Between work and my master's courses, I might not have a chance to... but I love the ones you did!

How many days until you actually leave for PC?

Does Grand Palladium charge a day pass for the photographer? If so, do you know how much it costs? Thanks in advance!

I'm using HDC as well, and just asked Carolina this same question a week or so ago. This was her reply.

Pastor York do not required a day pass, but the photographer nee done, the price is US$ 60, upon arrival in our meeting I will arrange it for him.

Regards from DR

Carolina Barragán Beck
(I am using Pastor Rick for the ceremony and had asked about day passes for the both of them.)

sorry if this it TMI but I need some opinions....

I am going to have my period the week I'm in Dominican...RRRR I can't believe I didn't plan around this....

So I was wondering.... there is a medication called Norethisterone that can be taken 3 days before expected menstruation and will delay it for about a week... I want to ask my doctor about it....

Do you think this is a good idea or should I just tough it out??

I've never heard of Norethisterone...but by the sounds of the name, I'd guess it is a high dose of estrogen (which would trick your body into not having a period the way the birth control pill does). Maybe ask your doc about it?

But like Bella has said, if you are taking the pill, there is no harm in taking pill packs back to back (ie: skipping the week of sugar pills and just taking the real pills) BUT to do this you MUST be taking "monophasic" pills and NOT "triphasic" pills. Monophasic pills have the same amount of hormones in every pill so your hormonal levels are the same all the time whereas the other ones have different amounts with each week and those need to be followed as prescribed. If you're not sure which you take, check the box as it normally says or ask your pharmacist as they'll know. Hint: generally any pill brand with "Tri" in the name is triphasic.

Hope that helps =)

Just an update -- I have to catch up once I'm officially back in Ontario BUT the wedding was amazzzzing! Absolutely amazing, and HDC is golden. SO happy we went with them.

I will update details soon! We weer supposed to leave last night but our flight has been delayed for like 18 hours and so they sent us to Dreams La Romana to sleep!

Also -- we were upgraded to the Royal Suites -- I would definately recommend!! It was fantastic...and Carolina also. And, I've since seen two other resort wedding locations (Dreams Palm Beach and Dreams La Ramana) and was not impressed at all -- GPPC is the way to go!! :)

Just to add to this, my TA told us that if you want the photographer (or any outside guests, even) to stay past 6 pm, they need an additional guest pass, so another $60 for the evening.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
