The summer wedding season is in full swing, and while you're likely here at BDW for help planning your own wedding, you may also find yourself as a guest at someone else's wedding this season. If you have no idea what to wear or just like any excuse to shop, look no further than here! We've put together five complete outfits for a handful of common wedding locales and themes. 1. Beach Wedding For a beach wedding you'll want to look put together, but still casual. A maxi dress in a fun, bright color is a perfect option. Pair it with some dressy flat sandals (perfect for the beach!), a simple woven clutch, sunglasses, and a bright lip. 1. Victoria's Secret Knife Pleat Maxi Dress ($98) 2. 80s Purple Sunglasses ($12) 3. Penny Arcade Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Raspberry ($26) 4. H&M Straw Clutch ($12.95) 5. Vince Camuto "Harissa" Sandals ($97.95) 2. Cruise Wedding For a cruise wedding, we like this strapless dress from Gap. The stripes are a subtle nod to the nautical setting, and we also found some adorable rope tie earrings that pair well with the theme too. Finish the look with coordinating navy blue wedges, pale lips, and a soft wrap if it gets chilly on deck. 1. Gap Sateen Strapless Dress ($54.99) 2. Madewell Market Tassel Scarf ($38.50) 3. Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Petal Soft Pink ($24) 4. Mod Cloth It's A-bowed Time Earrings ($9.99) 5. Claudia by Jean-Michel Cazabat Wedges ($195) 3. Cocktail/Evening Wedding At an evening wedding, navy is a nice dressed-up option that doesn't feel as heavy as black. This dress below, from Lulu's, has a fun sparkle detail at the waist and an unexpected peekaboo back that still manages to be classy. For nails, consider doing something different with your manicure and the sparkle polish we recommend. Check out our earlier article on how to add sparkle to a wedding for some fun ideas/inspiration for nails. 1. Lulu's Navy Blue Beaded Dress ($80) 2. Xavier Geometric Sterling Silver Drop Earrings ($79.95) 3. Banana Republic Kaylan Clutch ($89.50) 4. Illamasqua Nail Polish in Snap ($17) 5. Nine West "Glittering" Shoes ($89) 4. Garden Wedding If you're going to be outdoors in a park or garden setting, we like the idea of mimicking the surroundings in a playful way by incorporating a soft floral pattern in your dress. Since this dress and necklace are in bright turquoise colors, we paired it with a bright orange nail for a fun and unexpected contrast. 1. Blue Juice Speed of Light Bustier Dress ($125) 2. Zara Chain, Cord and Stone Necklace ($29.90) 3. Sephora Nail Polish in Hot & Spicy Orange ($5) 4. Zara Ankle Strap Sandals ($79.90) 5. Vintage Wedding Vintage Weddings are more popular than ever, and with the success of Downton Abbey and, more recently, The Great Gatsby, gorgeous vintage fashions are now easily found in major retailers. If you snag an invite to a wedding with this theme, consider splurging on this dress (appropriately named Gatsby) from Anthropologie. And how gorgeous are the art deco heels?! For makeup, nothing says vintage glam more than a deep red lip. 1. Anthropologie Gatsby Paillettes Dress ($328) 2. Forever 21 Pearlescent bead and charm necklace ($6.80) 3. Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick in Dark Rosey Red ($5) 4. Boutique 9 Platform Evening Sandals ($112) 5. Bhldn Aigrette Clutch ($350) Did we miss any? Or do you have your own suggestions? Let us know by sharing in the comments!

Say yes to the veil! By Sarani Estrada You’re all set planning a destination wedding and you ask yourself: Should I wear a veil to the beach? Trust me: Say yes to the veil! No matter where you get married or how small the gathering, it is still your unique wedding day. When else will you have the opportunity to wear one -- besides Halloween, of course! For me, a veil is the epitome of being a bride. Idid not wear one on my wedding day and I still regret it. Of course, if you simply do not like veils, or feel they don’t go with your personality, then, by all means, don’t wear one. The most important thing is for you to feel comfortable and not like you are in costume. If you are considering a veil, here are some advantages: It makes you look thinner. Yes! It’s true, I have seen brides of all sizes and shapes wearing veils, and they are always flattering. Besides looking skinnier, it helps you hide unwanted features. It makes you feel special. I have heard it tons of times: “I don’t want to take the veil off!” “I want to sleep with it!” It is such a romantic feature. When the bride is getting ready and looks at herself in the mirror wearing her dress, she gets excited. But when she puts on the veil, she is transformed: That’s when she gets emotional. It is a great prop for photography, and here’s the part where I am an expert. Being a photographer I adore veils. When you are at the beach, there is nothing much going on besides the scenery, so an additional visual element is greatly appreciated. And it is such fun to play and be creative with the veil! Here are some pictures of my beautiful brides with some incredible veils: Sarani Estrada is the owner and main photographer of Sarani Weddings A specialized studio in destination weddings photography and cinematography, based in Cancun, Mexico. www.saraniweddings.com www.saraniweddingsblog.com

Have you ever been to that wedding where there were people dressed in clashing outfits? There's no doubt about it, today´s weddings trends have rapidly evolved from previous years!! Here are some of the ever changing wedding trends: Instead of Round Tables Consider Long Banquet Seating Why would you want to consider this? Although it may not be the ideal choice or situation for great conversation in small groups, many brides are choosing the option of long banquet tables as opposed to round tables. Long tables can provide more seating for guests and give a kind of a rustic and modern or vintage look. The only thing to keep in mind is the size of the table in order to ensure all of the decor and place settings fit properly as you won't have as much center space. You want to make sure that you do your best to avoid clutter. One idea if the your table is really long, is putting one or two floral centerpieces and perhaps scatter flower petals on the rest of the table. Also be sure to keep the height of the centerpieces in mind as you want your guests to be able to engage with the guest across from them. Bridesmaid dresses have undergone a huge change from the past, thank God!!! We say a little prayer for the fact that the all in one matching color and style of bridesmaid dresses is now becoming a thing of the past! Different styles such as long, short, and with different colors and styles are now being seen everywhere. You could try the rainbow look this summer with the each of the girls wearing a different bright shade. Accessories such as barefoot jewelry, bib necklaces, and florals are being mixed up a bit so each girl has something unique to carry or wear. Late night fun food as a midnight snack is forever growing with different and unique ideas. You want to keep you guests happy into the night so you can have a fabulous reception that goes into the wee hours, making your special day last even longer. If that's what you want of course! Some ideas include: milk and cookies, a candy or popcorn bar, hamburgers, pizza, nacho bar, It’s a great way to end the evening with your guests! What trends are you incorporating into your wedding? Share your ideas and tips with us, we can´t wait to hear what you have in mind! Dream Weddings Riviera Maya http://www.dreamweddingsrivieramaya.com [email protected] +52 984 145 9035

You’re getting married soon and the last thing you want to worry about are your eyelashes or any globs of mascara running down your face when you see your groom. Well, here’s a trick that will give you gorgeous lash lengths without the need for mascara: Eyelash extensions. You’ve probably seen them on the Kardashians, but are they worth it for your big day? We’re here to help you figure that out! 1. Test Them Out. This is a no-brainer if you’ve never gotten eyelash extensions before, because they’ll either be your best friend throughout this spectacular time or your worst enemy. Find out sooner than later and give them a test run before taking the plunge. 2. Where To Go? It’s possible to self-apply your lashes, but there are professionals for this kind of thing. A lash technician will give you the best advice on what lash color would suit your needs best and will make you look amazing. As for locations, MAC or Sephora are popular places to get made up and get some lashes, but it’s certainly not the only venue in town. BDW members orange_peel and Evgal love NYC’s JJ Eyelashes, but it’s also worth asking around at your nearby nail and hair salons. A place may be right under your nose! 3. Do It Yourself. The same major salons who apply eyelash extensions also tend to sell them for at-home use (like MAC and Sephora). Whether you buy them at a local thrift shop or a salon, sometimes people work better just doing it themselves. Our suggestion? Cut your fake lashes in smaller chunks (try thirds) rather than leaving it as the whole lid arc. It’s easier to apply, plus it will separate the look and make your lashes fuller, giving the impression that you spent some serious cash at a fancy salon. 4. Mascara or no mascara? Yes, that is the question. For the most part, it’s fine to apply mascara to your extensions, just keep it moderate and light. But if you’re getting extensions in the first place, mascara shouldn’t be a major necessity anymore. If you feel the need to add a little more “umphff” to your lashes for a night out, we suggest steering clear of waterproof mascara (one exception being the wedding day) because the chemicals are a bit stronger and might weaken the lash glue. And only apply above where the lashes were glued. The less mess around your eyes, the better! 5. Lash cash. Eyelash extensions aren’t exactly cheap, but it’s about the same price you’d pay for a really great haircut and style - and they’re made to last 4 - 8 weeks (even in the water)! Most prices range from $100 - $500, depending on the location, level of technician, and style. Ladies at JJ Eyelashes in NYC pay from $120 - $200 whereas MAC or Sephora should be less expensive since they aren’t a specialty salon. Buying fake eyelashes in a store would be much less expensive, but may not look the way you’d dreamed. Our suggestion? It’s your big day, go big or go home - we think it’s worth it for such a special day!

When One Direction entered the beauty business with their scent, it might have been the harbinger of impending apocalypse. Instead, nail polish by Justin Beiber and perfume by boy bands just signal that the market for celebrity-"created" beauty product has become oversaturated. A survey conducted in the U.K. backs me up: According to the Huffington Post, the poll found that 53 percent of respondents purchased products from celebrity beauty lines, but only half of those people actually thought they were any good. Most were too expensive and of poor quality. The survey also found that 87 percent of women prefer to buy lines backed by celebrities they like (i.e. Jennifer Lopez and Iman, not Liam and Zayn). But one scientific note: The minute Tilda Swinton creates a line of hair products, I'm back onboard.

Ombre is a very popular trend this year and we've seen it pop up in food, fashion, and everything in between. The best part about ombre is that you can use it on any color palette-- just vary the shades to achieve the overall look! Blues and greens are especially striking near the crystal clear water at destination beach weddings, but you really can't go wrong with any color theme! We've seen so many fun and creative ideas for how to incorporate the trend into weddings, so without further ado here are some of our favorite pics. 2013 Oscars Fashion That Would Work for Your Wedding
alexisinjamaica posted a article in Style & Fashion
The Oscars were last night and while Hollywood’s best and brightest were being honored for the year in film, we couldn’t help but notice that many of the gowns could easily make the transition from red carpet to wedding aisle. Some of our favorite stars were seen in styles that would be perfect for any wedding—sexy mermaid, ball gown, on-trend peplum and more. Since celebrities often spark fashion trends with their everyday looks, we wouldn't be surprised if some of these Oscar dresses inspired a few wedding day looks too. So even if you didn't watch the show, don't worry-- we combed through more hours of red carpet pre-shows than we'd like to admit to get a glimpse at all the looks and glean fun tidbits about each star in the process. Thanks, E! Here are our top 10 picks from last night’s show to help you feel like a star on your wedding day! 10. Octavia Spencer Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Tadashi Shoji Perfect if your style is: Princess Last year's Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actress chose this ethereal Tadashi Shoji number for her return to the Oscars red carpet. We love the slight texture on the bodice and how light and flowy the whole dress looks. We bet you could spend all night dancing in this dress! 9. Anne Hathaway Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Prada Perfect if your style is: Clean and classic (think Audrey Hepburn). Anne is rocking this simple halter top A-line blush colored Prada dress. Though she's normally known for wearing Valentino, she made a last minute decision (reportedly just 3 hours before the show!) to wear Prada last night. Perhaps a nod to her movie 'The Devil Wears Prada?' Who knows! With many brides opting not to wear white on the big day a simple pale pink dress similar to this one could be a perfect choice for those blushing brides. 8. Jessica Chastain Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Armani Prive Perfect if your style is: Sexy and sophisticated This dress is stunning on Jessica, and we love how the champagne color plays off her bombshell red hair. Champagne is another on-trend non-white color choice for brides, and the sparkles here give this dress an extra level of glam that we think would be perfect for a wedding day. 7. Charlize Theron Photo Credit: AP Dress designer: Dior Couture Perfect if your style is: Clean and modern Peplum has been a huge trend this season and it was a fun change to see it dressed up for Hollywood's biggest night. Charlize is a spokesperson for Dior fragrance J'adore so it was no surprise she turned up in a Dior gown. This one fits her perfectly and we love the playful dip at the neckline and slight sparkle at the waist. If you love clean lines and a modern style, this could be the perfect wedding day look for you. 6. Queen Latifah Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Badgley Mischka Perfect if your style is: Simple and sexy Badgley Mischka know their way around a wedding dress (and shoe!), making this design an obvious choice for a red carpet to wedding aisle transition. This dress looks so comfortable and it's extremely flattering to boot-- the deep V helps show off Queen's "assets" and the wrap around front with a bias cut emphasizes her curves. Plus, shoulder sparkles! How fun! 5. Jennifer Lawrence Photo Credit: AP Dress designer: Dior Couture Perfect if your style is: Princess We love Jennifer Lawrence! And though she probably had to have her own version of 'The Hunger Games' to get red carpet ready, she looks amazing in this Dior Couture gown. Like Charlize, Jennifer is a Dior fragrance spokesperson (for Miss Dior) and it was assumed she'd show up in one of their gowns. But we were pleasantly surprised to see her in this ball gown stunner with a subtle pattern. She looked every bit the Hollywood star when she went up on stage to accept her award for Best Actress. If you love a full gown this could be a contender. 4. Kristen Stewart Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Reem Acra Perfect if your style is: Sexy and a little edgy OK so let's just acknowledge the fact that Kristen never quite looks like she's enjoying herself. But she sure can wear a gown! This Reem Acra confection has amazing detail. We love the subtle bit of skin peeking through the flowers, and the tattered edges and train give this just enough edge to keep the look from being boring or predictable. We'd expect nothing less from Reem, who makes some of the most stunning wedding gowns we've ever seen. Also, we like this gown a whole lot better than the one Kristen wore as Twilight character Bella Swan. 3. Zoe Saldana Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Alexis Mabille Couture Perfect if your style is: Sexy and playful There's a lot going on with this dress, but somehow it all works. The flower detail at the neckline and the bow at the waist make this dress sweet and feminine. The ombre bottom is on-trend (love ombre!) and the mermaid silhouette and slight slit near the bottom ooze sex appeal. We love the idea of surprising wedding guests with an ombre bottom or a pop of color. 2. Amanda Seyfried Photo credit: Getty images Dress designer: Alexander McQueen Perfect if your style is: Girly and feminine Here's another halter top style, but with the added touch of a sexy keyhole opening. This dress looks so soft and romantic. We love the detail on the overlay and how light and flowy this looks. And that flower pattern on the overlay makes this gown perfect for a spring wedding! and now, our #1 favorite look from last night's show... 1. Amy Adams Photo credit: Getty Images Dress designer: Oscar de la Renta Perfect if your style is: Princess, romantic In the words of fashion maven Rachel Zoe, "we die" over this dress. The color is fabulous, the bodice has subtle sparkle details, and that full skirt/train look so ethereal with all the layers of fabric. If you're the type of bride looking for an over-the-top wow factor, this dress delivers. -
As a new season begins, trends of wedding fashion have changed also. Definitely, you should be curious about what marvelous pieces and bridal looks that designers showed us by their Fall collections. In this article, I would like to share with you some of the most popular ideas concerning wedding dresses for this fall. Straps A-line Wedding Dresses Straps will always be in trend whenever it comes to wedding dresses! No matter if these are thick, you are able to find how they match perfectly with a wedding gown that is made in no matter what style you want. Of course, in this season, there is a tendency of making these thicker than usual and being used especially at the level of wedding dresses with a vintage tone. Also, it turns out that A-Line wedding dresses are one of the most sought-after style, which is now embellished with a one of a kind design, featuring some elegant horizontal stripes. You will still be able to wear such a glamorous gown no matter what figure you belong to. Bows and Butterfly Details on Wedding Gowns Speaking about bridal accessories, features or prints, bridal gowns this fall seem to have a little something special. There are more details added to accentuate modern and romantic bridal looks. Bows have always been used in wedding dresses. However, in this fall collection, they tend to get more and more popular. Not only are they great looking if attached to a simple bridal gown, but also, they change the aspect of a wedding gown entirely if placed in the right side and made in the right way. In addition, we can find butterfly details also from these pieces. Designers perfectly combine this feature with a comfortable, yet very sophisticated and elegant skirt, thus emphasizing women need for comfort and elegance. Colored Bridal Dresses In terms of the color, just as my last post "Forget White - Choose Wedding Dress in Your Favorite Color. We observed colored gowns this season. Except for red and pink, faded tones came to be popular. Grey is one of the new white. Actually, designers have promoted this idea for a long time now, but it seems that this season, grey will definitely prevail and it will be an invasion of grey wedding gowns. Therefore, follow the tendencies and choose a colored gown instead of a white one. What do you think of the wedding fashion this fall? What trends do you like?

No doubt, that color also is a major factor when we shop for jewelry. Are you looking for jewelry sets in pink color or you may be purposefully shopping for a color that goes with something in your wardrobe? And if you are shopping for a gift for someone else, color is usually the main factor in your choice. I have realized, custom orders of jewelry or custom jewelry, nearly always starts out by mentioning the color (”Could you make me something like this, or only in PINK?”). Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you". Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behavior. Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance. Wear pink when you want to present yourself as a peaceful, calm person who is not threatening. The softer shades are very feminine and darker shades will alleviate feelings of friction. Any type of jewelry which is made from Pink crystals looks special, beautiful and elegant. And Pink color fashion jewelry sets are the girl’s favorite. These types of jewelry sets are perfect for bridesmaid gifts, prom party, bridesmaids and for other special occasions. In the end, color remains subjective and is always experienced uniquely by different observers.
