  1. @@upstatekj Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything else went smoothly and you were able to enjoy the day. Can't wait to hear more about it! Welcome home!
  2. Awesome! Did you have music beforehand? Like before everything started or was that the only 2 songs? I wasn't sure if I needed music like for awaiting the bridal party.. haha PS I love that Ed Sheeran song, it's on my list! haha
  3. Thanks girls that's awesome! Very helpful and good to know. Sounds like I made a great choice choosing a DJ! For the ceremony...did Jessica tell you how many songs to have for "before/during/after" the ceremony? I've been slowly gathering some on my iphone. haha
  4. @@Giocivs88 I meant to ask, I know you said you loved the DJ which is great news. How was he/she on song selections. Did you pick songs or give him a list before you arrived? Not sure how that works out of the country... I know you need to provide a playlist/music for the wedding.
  5. Awesome pics!!! So beautiful looks like you had a fantastic time. Your family looked completely overwhelmed with joy. @@Giocivs88 - Wonderful review. You make me excited to have myt wedding there. We'd love to see pictures! I'm using beach wedding studio also. We can't wait to hear/see more. Welcome back!
  6. Welcome! I know, isn't it just the best? So helpful... I think it depends what you're after. The ERC is more of the "Mediterranian Style" where as the EPM is much more modern. I have not stayed at EPM (yet) but have friends who have gone to both. I've been to ERC, i notice more brides on here that have gotten married at the ERC but I think it's because it's been around longer. Either will be a great selection! Their service is second to none! I'm not positive about the bonfire. They offer fire shows/tiki torches and a few other items on their add-ons. You can definitely inquire with the resort. @@Giocivs88 It's so close! Enjoy every second of it.
  7. @@JenniferH114 - Did you end up getting a civil or symbolic ceremony. I'm doing the civil and I'm wondering if I also get the choice. We were kind of bummed we couldnt' have our minister who is coming marry us so I was hoping to still have somewhat of a religious involvement in the ceremony.
  8. Oh and this one goes out to all the brides, I read back and back a few pages ago that some ladies left items there for future brides to use, did any of you girls ask about this? Does this still exist, I know I plan to leave a few things!
  9. @@Sabes44 Well Angel did a fantastic job! I'm always anxious about other people doing my hair/makeup especially if I know i'll be in a bunch of pictures but its good to have a good endorsement! Did you have to pay more for your bouquet because it wasn't something that was part of your package? I know they sent me a bunch of "options" but I wasn't sure... It looked gorgeous!
  10. @@Sabes44 the pics are so cute! Your hair/makeup looked flawless, did you get it done at the spa? How was that? Also the bouquet came out GREAT!! Did you pick one of the options or give her photos?
  11. I'm with ya @@lornj29 I'm looking for a site too! Wanted to start early!
  12. @@Sabes44 Congratulations! My goodness you made one BEAUTIFUL bride. I absolutely adore your dress. You both look so happy! Can't wait to hear all the little details. Ok wait now the questions are flooding in my brain @@Sabes44 What was the routine when you got there, do you meet with Jessica right away? Did she already have most of what you were looking for on file or is that when you gave her your final ideas on menu's etc. We're still so far out I didn't know how long they waited to lock in like the apps/food etc.
  13. Hey! I am not positive as I'm sure it depends upon the resort but I know at my resort, we don't need it for a symbolic. Did you get some sort of packet of what is needed?
  14. @JamieCKL Yay! Congrats, I think you made an excellent choice, but we may be biased. Definitely go through this thread, I guarantee you, almost all of your questions will be answered. And if not, we're all here! Have you made any preliminary decisions? Location of ceremony/reception? Trust me, I'm the same way with planning but you have so much time and it sounds like they really have their stuff together. So you're in great hands!!
  15. Yay @@JenniferH114! What wonderful news. I'm so glad it was the wedding of your dreams and that everything went off without a hitch. I can't wait to read your review. I'm so sorry that you're back to reality but I know you have such wonderful memories. I'm so glad we all selected such a stellar resort and your ladies' reviews gives us all the justification that we all made a great choice! @@Sabes44 Yay! Enjoy every second of it.
  16. @@Crystal17 Yay! Congratulations. We are so happy for you. I'm so glad it was an easy breezy process and so glad Jessica was so great. I keep hearing such wonderful things about her. I can't wait to see pictures of your big day! Did you have your wedding at 5pm? @@kathryn78 Welcome! And Congratulations! Our weddings are so close. Mine is April 29 2016. An old coworker of mine is a travel agent so we decided to go that route. I've been to ERC and booked through her the last time but have done many trips alone on expedia/cheapcaribbean. The good thing about a travel agent is it takes a lot of the pressure off YOU. I found that I could, in fact find cheaper rates but I found it more convenient to book airport transfers, flights, rooms etc all in one transaction. It is also helping my guests that aren't big travelers not have to feel the pressure of looking for everything on their own. No one HAS to use the travel agent that you provide. You may just want to encourage them to if you can get some extra perks. For example we get money back, based on how many people book. Every little bit helps! But if it's easier on you, you could give them that option and leave the choice up to your guests how they want to book.
  17. @@JenniferH114 Have the BEST time!! You will make the most beautiful bride. can't wait to hear all about it. Enjoy everything. Don't stress!
  18. haha so many good suggestions! I will have to play with the generator. We both have LONG Italian last names so I'm trying to be creative. Thanks for all the great suggestions! haha I always want it to be easy enough for guest to remember
  19. Hi all! I am going to be getting married at the Excellence Riviera Cancun next year and am trying to think of a punny but cute hashtag. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thinking of throwing in his last name + fiesta. Or something like that. Just am having a brain block!
  20. @@Sabes44 I'm with you! I love candles. That's a good idea about bringing them... much cheaper. I just was confused about what to do since I am not having a bridal party, I know some corsages/boutonnieres come with it that I won't be using. And wasn't sure about breaking up a larger thing (pending the size of our reception). Good to know Jessica is flexible.
  21. @JaumeCKL - CONGRATS! When are you planning your wedding? I am getting married April 2016 and being a planner, I found this thread and couldn't be happier. I read though the entire thing and answered most of my questions before my first post. Everyone is extremely helpful. I've never stayed at El Dorado but have heard fabulous this. I was actually trying to decide between ERC and El Dorado before my first trip to ERC. After I went I just fell in love. Feel free to ask questions but def peek back on past posts and you'll get a feel for a lot and some AWESOME reviews. There is a review page on this site for the resort itself you may want to read those also.
  22. That's so awesme ladies about the love birds package. That's with the Gold, correct? I think you both answered this once before but I can't find it... how early did you book your hair apt?
