  1. @@HollyB322 - I agree, I think a Travel Agent is the way to go. I'm using my dear friend Lashawn Russell at she's booked all my vacations the last few years and has lots of experience with the Excellence and planning weddings. She works for Funjet - but with her own company - www.travelsolonomore.com What we did was she set up a block through funjet but we did not have to pay - there will be a set price for your guests and only about 100 dollars to lock in the price. The full amount isn't due until a month before the trip.. Makes it so much easier for YOU then you don't have to worry about anything and she can handle all the guests. That's the last thing you should have to worry about! As for rain, I'm with you... I'm trying to just push it to the back of my mind. Rain can happy at any time and I'm sure they are prepared. I read a review when they just postponed the ceremony a little bit. I think you will be okay! And whatever happens, your wedding will be beautiful. Congrats on picking ERC! Where is your reception?
  2. @@vanessajfelice congratulations that's SO exciting! I know I am seriously counting down until april! What does your dress look like??
  3. @@vanessajfelice welcome and congratulations!!! Isn't it so much to read haha but so helpful! @@JenniferH114 hey sorry about that! Didn't get notified via email my email is Victoria.Salv @ gmail
  4. @@JenniferH114 - I am! Send me a link I would love to see more. I emailed with Juan - was their any issue getting him on the resort? I guess he's been there before and know how ti all works.
  5. @@JenniferH114 I emailed Juan to get compared pricing - I saw both you and Sabra's photos on there - stunning! Also, did you do the Gold Package? I'm wondering how it works for the outside vendor as I'm doing Gold and it "includes wedding photos/video" Also how much was the outside vendor fee? Trying to weigh all my options!
  6. @@kjb0528 - Yes we are doing the one with 2 photographers, I'm torn also to do the six hour and the four hour. I don't think I NEED six hours but I was trying to figure out if it was worth it since we'd have two photographers with us. Since we're getting the gold package, and the free hour (is really the ceremony) it'll work out if I want to do an hour before so we can each have a photographer with us. I don't care that much about tons of 'getting ready' pics just a few with my mom and he with his buddies. I wonder how much it would be to add on the unedited photos They did a great job with your engagement photos!
  7. @@kjb0528 SO cute, i love those photos. You guys make such a stunning couple. I know others did outside photographers but I had been following them on facebook and the price seemed good and the fact that they know the resort so well as well as the fact I don't have to pay a vendor fee to bring someone on the resort worked for me! We're doing the six hour package which comes with like 150 edited, and then you get 500 unedited.
  8. @JamieCKL - ah I know! I struggled with deciding on doing online RSVP vs. the cards only so I didn't have to pay for more postage! So glad you found a better dress. What i ended up getting was completely different that what I had visualized originally also. Funny how that works! @@kjb0528 - thank you so much for sharing that! That looks really helpful i'm definitely going to check it out. You look stunning in your dress. I love the sheerness on the shoulders and back. I'm with you about shoes, I hate being flatfoot because i'm so short (5'1) but looking at the wedding site it seems i might go barefoot or something for the reception only and change. We're doing our reception in the Lobster House (our wedding is a Fri). I think either choice would be good for you. You have about how many we're expecting (currently we have 40 booked but i'm hoping for a few more). We are doing our cocktail hour at Los Olas. Oregano might be a better bet for you guys if you're picturing separate tables and a dance floor. Remember though you can overflow to the sand though i'm sure!! Oregano seemed like a great spo tand i think it just has a slot roof so you'll feel like you're outside! I saw some really good pics of a wedding there (i'll try and find) - both locations i think you can't go wrong. Who are you using for your photographer? The in house people (Beach Wedding Studio) are great to email questions with and they can send you a shot of weddings at different locations!
  9. @@kjb0528 Stunning!! I love the back. Definitely perfect for that location, that's for sure. Doesn't it feel more "real" now?
  10. Hi Ladies, how is everyone's planning going? Getting quiet in here. I'm only 120-somethign days out so I'm getting antsy! Our invites went out before the holidays, although we had sent save the dates so I pretty much have a good idea who is going. We have 40 booked! I ordered my welcome bags now I'm just slowly trying to fill them. Debating on doing just one bag per room or if it's friends giving them each one (since they wouldn't be a couple). Trying to find gender neutral type items just in case. My dress came in and I'll be going to try that on for the first time soon! Can't wait. My fiancé got his suit last month, a very light CK suit from Men's Warehouse. Since we're not having a bridal party figured he might as well get one he'll wear again. Now we're figuring out shoes, for he and I. I'll probably be barefoot or something flat for the ceremony (beach), but wanted something better for the reception. For him, we are stuck. He doesn't want to wear flip flops. We had some guest get quotes the last couple weeks, prices have gone up a LOT since we originally booked. Although what more can we do then plan and tell people to put down a deposit months out... I feel bad but there's only so much you can do! So don't get too bummed if that happens to you. We are giving them all tons of notice! Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  11. Oh yeah true. And mine is in April. Well, better to lock it in... I would think she could adjust if they change! Have you girls checked out centerpieces yet? I'm torn..
  12. Hmmm.. that does seem a little high. Are they regular rooms or club? We went through a travel agent and her company (funjet) books the rooms so we didn't have to pay to reserve the rooms in advance. We booked in March (personally) and I have not noticed an increase or decrease unfortunately. I'm not sure how that works! The only thing I have noticed is a lot of the jr suite regular rooms are sold out (at least via her supplier so some people had to upgrade).
  13. @@kjb0528 Congratulations on both your engagement and being an ERC bride! How exciting.
  14. Ooo just saw the code still works. Expires today!! Maybe i'll get some! Thank you so much! These are the ones we got! http://www.minted.com/product/wedding-invitations/MIN-6SH-INV/gallery-abstract-art?feature=Browse&event=sku_click&sku=MIN-6SH-INV&pop_rank=29&source=image&t_api=1&ccId=410408&org=photo
  15. @@JaimeCKL THOSE ARE THE SAME BAGS i want! Haha i was literally just on their website pricing them out, shoot i really missed out on black friday... crap. I just was so unsure how many to get. I will send pics for sure! For invites, try Minted.com I love their unique designs and they are so easy to work with and affordable. My friends all used wedding paper divas but i didn't like their deisgns as much. Both will send samples of paper etc. We did a solid flat card, kind of a watercolor/blue beach themed (i'll get a pic).
  16. @@JaimeCKL Yay! So happy for you that is quite progress. I'm feeling excited too. My invites came in the mail last night they look awesome and i just got a call my dress was in so i'll finally get to tsee that in person. Where did you find welcome bags? I need to get on that! Is your new coordinator Alejandra? Thats who is working with me now, although I haven't spoken with her much.
  17. Thanks @@JenniferH114! So adorable. I don't remember Lobster being on one of the choices they sent me... but that would be nice! What package did you have again? Any of you brides-to-be hear from any coordinators? Still waiting to hear who my new one is! lol wooosssaahh..
  18. @@kathryn78 my email is Victoria.salv@@gmail.com THANK YOU I really appreciate it! So excited you got to experience all of that in your trial. Makes me feel better that things went so smoothly. I'm trying not to worry. Also, thank you for letting me know about Maribel. I wish they would tell us when people left.. But I understand how busy they must be! So do you think Alejandra is the only one now? What food did you like? @@JenniferH114 good to know, thank you! Okay now I'm not so worried. He will definitely have help. Do you think Los Olas is about the same distance from the sidewalk as well? I think that's where we'll be doing the cocktail hour. I was considering X Lounge but isn't that kind of tiny?
  19. @@JenniferH114 You're so right. They do SOOOO many weddings and do so much there. I know we are way on the bottom of the priority list! I think we're just all so excited to lock stuff in! haha Question for you, I can't remember. Did you get married on the beach or pier? My father in law (to be) is on oxygen and has an extremely hard time walking on the sand. Do you remember how far the wedding pavilion is roughly from the sidewalk? We're debating on putting more of a solid walkway down but if he could just get some help from my fiancé ahead of time if it's not too far that might just be fine (he doesn't want a big deal made of his health). I just can't really see from pictures how far it is to estimate!
  20. @@Emilyhershbain - Congratulations!!! My wedding is on April 29, we are LEAVING on the 6th! Ahh so close to each other. How exciting! I'm sorry for your trouble girls. I have had Maribel (after having Jessica who left ERC), fortunately Maribel has been very responsive until lately. I am working with Funjet travel and working with a coordinator in the states who has been my "communicator" she hasn't heard back either. I agree- just poke a little, it can't hurt. I know they are not as quick as they would be in the states but that's what we're hoping for, an easy breezy wedding service. @@lynne1609 - what problems were you having besides the spa?? Did you decide on a dinner venue?
  21. Hey Ladies, how are the plans going? My dress comes in in 2 weeks I'm excited to try it on in my size! Also - working on our invitations and wanted some advise. On the RSVP card I'm putting down entrée choices but since we have only one to select and a vegetarian option I need something like - Chicken & Seafood (if I go that route) - Vegetarian - Allergies? I have no idea how to simplify that. I'm so worried the meny options will change so I didn't want to give too many details on what we'll have in case it changes. Any thoughts.
  22. @@lynne1609 What day is your wedding? Do you want to be completely alone? I know they do "Semi private dinners" at restaurants that are available for other guests. You could maybe set one up with Maribel and perhaps she could do it more private. The Grill/The Lobster House are directly near the beach that would be your closest option. Those are both open air. Another cool option is Agave - not near the beach but definitely festive. You wouldn't be alone though. I know they also arrange private dinners for anniversaries etc on the beach so perhaps you could have one for the four of you? I would think a reception no matter what size would be included so any of those options that she provided you could work dependign on what you are looking for. What type of atmosphere are you looking for?
  23. @@lynne1609 That's great! You're in good hands trust me. Maribel has been most helpful lately for me. Have you ever been to the resort? We picked a good one!
