  1. @@brittneyo2 I dont have any pictures but if you go to the reception part of the video, theres a few clips of people taking pictures in the photo booth! i would definitely recommend doing a cocktail hour at a different location from the reception, so the guests get the first "wow" when they walk in to your reception area I didn't have any events at the Olympus terrace so i cant really recommend the dance floor. we had rented out Fuego and that has marble floors, we added LED lights and robotic lights, as well as draping on the ceiling and used the whole top level as the dance floor (with tables set up only on the bottom level) so a dance floor wasnt really necessary or an option for us, since it would have covered only a small area of what we needed. @@tiffanyt I used the template but change it quiet a bit, and then they printed everything for me. I loved how they turned out!
  2. @@brittneyo2 the photo booth was a big hit and definitely worth it. i negotiated almost everything, for paying in full I got 10% off with tropic one, i also negotiated all the decor as much as I could by bulking things together. But we did get a lot of extras on top of our tailor made package so they knew we were spending a good amount of money already. With the tailor made package you get 1 set of lights included, we used ours towards the welcome BBQ since Fuego has its own lighting. However, we ended up adding extra lights for the cocktail hour which was on the beach in front of Fuego. I am attaching some pictures of our set up for both nights so you guys can get ideas.
  3. @@brittneyo2 aw thank you!! I ordered my frame from here: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1067703544and my sand here: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1110052503 I had no issues with the set at all. the coordinator forgot to put the funnel on the ceremony table though, so we only poured it for a few seconds so it wouldn't spill during the ceremony, and than we poured the rest in once we got home. we stayed at the royal service section and all of our guests stayed at the royal service or regular rooms at the main resort, none at the reserve. we wanted everyone to be at the same place. we had dinner at the reserve a couple of nights though (by far the best restaurant at the resort is called Aqua at the reserve). but we really liked how everyone stayed together and there is definitely a lot more to do at the main resort - our group was pretty young so everyone wanted some nightlife. we did the tailor made package, we upgraded the location to Fuego and added 1hr of reception, so in total our reception was 4 hours. the package came with 1hr "la hora loca" which was the entertainment you are probably referencing? We only had them show up for 10 minutes and pass out props (i brought a lot of my own props too) because our group did not need any help getting on the dance floor and i am not a big fan of the train and all those set up dances (which is what those entertainers do). but if you wanted to, they would stay for a whole hour and do all of that stuff. our ceremony stared at 5:30pm and as you could see, the sun set over us. I was hoping we would start the ceremony when the sun was behind the building to avoid shadows and people staring into the sun as i walked down the aisle, but it went behind the building towards the end of our ceremony. Now im glad we didnt start later because we cut it really close with pictures (and we were VERY fast and efficient). i would look here: http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/dominican-republic/punta-canaand plan out your ceremony accordingly. We did not do a first look but we did group pictures that did not include the 2 of us before the ceremony. so after the ceremony we did 1 full hour of pictures (6pm-7pm). 30 mins with groups and 30 mins just us. but that included finding people, getting in position, stuff like that. So i would recommend starting your ceremony at 5:30 - its also good luck to start your wedding ceremony at half hour past
  4. @@brittneyo2 i dont have the wedding pictures posted anywhere yet, but here is our wedding video which should be a little helpful: I saw some DJ reviews from previous weddings, I cant recall exactly where, but we loved Mannia, he was great. And he came down in price for both events where it was not more expensive than using the in house DJ anyway. The hair and make up ladies were mostly good, 2 of them were great, the 3rd wasn't as good. The biggest issue was that I had confirmed several times with a detailed schedule 4 stylists, and only 3 showed up on my wedding day. It was unacceptable and made me super stressed and late for pictures (we ended up not getting half of the pre ceremony pictures that we wanted to get). That was by far the worst thing that happened though. The wedding coordinator was furious too, and the salon manager came up with a lame excuse as to why the 4th didnt show up, but I think it was just their mistake. So i would demand a contract from them stating exactly who will be your stylists.
  5. Welcome bags! I got my totes from wedding chicks (like many others on this site) during one of their sales. I think the quality is awesome and they look really nice. We are giving 1 per couple, or 1 per a single person. We are doubling the survival kits for couples. Contents: survival kit (advil, pepto, emergen c, life savers, shout wipes), travel size sunscreen and aloe, personalized chapstick (etsy), personalized mirrored sunglasses with our hashtag on the side in white ( https://www.inkhead.com/reflection-malibu-sunglasses/33557/),a bag of personalized M&Ms with a picture of our dog . We are debating adding Mamajuana bottles but they are $6/each from Dominican Favors (deliver to your resort for free) and I am afraid they will go to waste since its already an all inclusive resort, and they are too big to bring on a plane back (and i doubt most people are going to check in bags). We are also going to have flip flops for ladies at the reception and a cigar bar.
  6. I had one guest cancel the trip - but she is pregnant. It really only negatively affects pregnant women, or those trying to get pregnant. otherwise you may just experience a fever or pink eye, but this virus has been around for a long time. Only recently has it been found to cause birth defects. So pregnant women are urged to not travel to the impacted countries. If you are not pregnant and get the virus, you can have healthy babies again once the virus is out of your system.
  7. Ceremony Our wedding decor is all white and gold, with yellow accents (bridesmaid dresses, accent flowers, etc). Chairs: white Tiffany chairs with white chair covers on end chairs Aisle decor: plain white aisle runner with scattered fake rose petals (bought on chair cover factory), and white ikea lanterns along the aisle (excited to see how @@yycbride2016 looks!) Gazebo: white draping with white wood construction, chandelier, and flowers on poles made out of white roses, soft yellow lilies and baby breath. I really wanted more flowers on the gazebo, but I just couldnt justify paying $800+ for a 15 min ceremony! Escort stands: we are setting 2 big white cubes/blocks infront of the whole ceremony, 1 on each side, with a tall cylindar on each consisting of a topiary of white and soft yellow roses, white hydrangeas and baby breath. we are going to re-use these center pieces for the escort tables at the reception. i am attaching pictures of my inspiration, obviously all different colors, etc but you can get an idea. Ceremony fans: my friend did these, they came out amazing. she used ivory paper and very heavy card stock so they dont fly away. we plan on placing them on everyones chairs. Bubbles: going to place bubbles with little tags to blow wishes for the new mr. & mrs. on all the end chairs. Welcome table: going to have the 2 posters in the pictures on the welcome table along with a shoe rack for those that want to take off their shoes. (need to confirm with wedding coordinator). I wanted to get a lot more signs, like directional signs, but we ended up realizing there is just no way we can carry everything with us down there. Music: we are going to use their speakers to play the welcome music, and the processional. But - this is a surprise for guests - right before i walk down the aisle, one of my bridesmaids is going to take her violin and actually play Canon in D while I walk down the aisle! I was really torn paying for the violinist because he was very limited in the songs he could play, and as everything at Paradises, he was just super expensive. So one day she offered to play saying she used to play competitively, which was so nice of her. We are still trying to find a piano version that we can play over the speakers to accompany her violin version. Logistically, we will have to really nail out the details at rehearsal to make sure the WC knows how to time all of this with the music. We plan on using that wedding DJ app you all have talked about. Just need to actually download it. Did you guys use your iphone or ipad to play music? (sorry i dont know why my pictures are sideways arghhhh)
  8. Save the Dates: we sent these out in April, so about 10 months before the wedding. We had our Engagement Party in June and wanted to have the invitation in the save the dates. A lot of people that can't make the wedding attended our engagement party, so it worked out well!. I used https://weddingpassports.com/for my save the dates. Bridesmaids: 9 bridesmaids. all of my bridesmaids are wearing Dessy dresses - Lux Chiffon fabric in Sunflower (yellow) color. Everyone got a different style from weddington way. The picture posted is just to show the color, not one of the styles actually chosen. We used weddington way because they had free returns and it was easy to control everyone ordering together, etc. I picked like 30 different styles and added them to my show room, then invited all the bridesmaids and they each chose a style they liked. I told them to choose their own shoes. barefoot in the sand is fine with me too if thats what they wanted to do. but since the reception is on marble floor, I am guessing most girls will wear heels or wedges for that part. Groomsmen: 9 groomsmen including officiant. the groomsmen are all wearing grey (lighter grey) pants, white shirts, black suspenders, black tie, and black shoes. while my fiance is wearing a blue suite with white shirt and black tie. My dress: for the same privacy concerns mentioned above, I am going to wait to post a picture of my dress until after the wedding! i have my second fitting tomorrow. My biggest concern is that the top part of my dress is lace with minor beading and it is VERY itchy. like to a point where I cant wear the dress. It didnt feel like that when i tried it on (twice for 1hr each time, before ordering). So i am bringing in different bustiers tomorrow but i have a feeling i will have to ask them to sew in a liner, which is not ideal given my dress is slightly shear, and the liner will be white. if anyone had any issues with itching/rashes from their dress, please let me know how you fixed it!! My shoes: for the ceremony I am wearing bottomless sandals I got on etsy, and i got matching hair pins (TBD on if my hair style actually works with wearing them though). And for the reception i am wearing the Alana Jimmy Choo shoes in gold! I bought them as a sample sale so I got extremely lucky! Officiant: my best friend from growing up is marrying us. We have been friends for 18 years. He got ordained in NYC and we are all going to officially sign the marriage license the day before we leave (while we are still in NYC), but perform the actual ceremony in DR, so it still feels like we are getting married only once.
  9. posting a picture of our dog to test the best way to post pics! sorry having minor issues trying to attach images to the messages. but nothing says happy friday like a cute puppy right?!
  10. Hi ladies! So I have been very reluctant to have a planning thread for privacy purposes. I was afraid of someone simply googling my name and my resort and then finding my planning thread and having all the surprises ruined! I know this is probably stupid right? I should have made a different username! However, over the last year i have probably gone on this site several times a week, and have found SO much helpful information and got so many ideas that I decided I needed to give back. (shout out to all the brides who have gotten married over the last year, and plan on getting married, because i have endlessly read all of your posts, and you have been incredibly helpful). I have "stalked" so many photographer blogs, googled "paradisus wedding, destination wedding, palma real wedding" in all variations on every social media site, just to see pictures and ideas. Unfortunately, there are not many Palma Real brides, and I figured if I made this post, another uncreative and paranoid bride like myself, will benefit at some point in the future. I will make this purely about the wedding, as condensed as i can. and luckily I have most of my things already planned out so I will post all the final inspirations. And then report back after the wedding (which is in 28 days EEEEK) with an official review and actual pictures. So here it goes! Why Paradisus Palma Real? - The short answer is that its the most luxurious resort that allows kids. We have 2 baby newphews and I have a 14yr old sister. - They are known for weddings and have a romance department that is based in Miami so the communication is very quick and easy - My best friend's brother got married there in May 2009, and it so happened that my fiance and I were in Punta Cana on our first vacation that week (we stayed at a cheaper place next door). We got to spend the day there and were in such awe of its luxury and beauty, that it always had a special place in our hearts - The bad: its expensive, definitely the most expensive all-inclusive that we looked at. They charge you for absolutely everything. If you are paying for your own wedding, like us, beware. It will make you upset, but just keep reminding yourself, it will be worth it at the end. - Room tip: do NOT do a group contract. Cecilia who is in charge is awful, awful, awful. And the room rates are more expensive (for in-season) than rates online. Have all of your guests sign up for melia rewards and book through the melia website. We probably saved our guests on average $80/night/person by doing so. Yea it sucks we didnt get a free room for every 10 rooms booked, but we cared about our guests saving money more than getting a free room. (for any palma real brides PM me about this) - Why Punta Cana? Direct flights form every city we have guests coming from (besides LA but quick stop in Miami/Ft Lauderdale), short flight from east coast (nyc, philly), and the first place we went on vacation together. (also my fiance cant go to mexico because he gets sick) Wedding Date Choice - February is arguably the coldest month in NYC so we figured everyone will want to get away at the end of the month - the rates usually drop after president's day so we still get the high season, but not the super expensive holiday rates - not a rainy month (we were in Punta Cana in May and it rained after afternoon - I am someone who worries WAY too much about everything, so I would literally not sleep for weeks if I thought there was a good chance of rain on my wedding) Quick Us Background - feel free to checkout our wedding website: www.mashandkev.com - we met in college and have been dating for almost 8 years. we live in NYC and have lived together for 3 years. we have an amazing dog named Stella, she is a cavalier king charles, and we are obsessed with her. we are also incredibly sad she is not coming to our wedding. - we have a place in Miami and go there all the time, so we are huge beach people, and will eventually live in Miami where we can go to the beach every day - so the beach wedding was a no brainer, decision made many years ago Vendors Palma Real charges $1000 outside vendor fee (plus tax and service) unless they stay at the hotel for 3 nights. Photographer - Tropic One - in house vendor. Not my number one choice but the pictures are good enough where we couldn't justify paying more. (My number 1 choice was Katya Nova.) I had them send me portfolio for each wedding photographer and we liked Rodrigo and requested him. We are also getting their photobooth for the reception. Videographer - PJ from Life In Rewind (http://lifeinrewind.com/). We are flying him down and he is attending all of our events. He did 2 of our friends weddings last summer, and we just fell in love with his work and decided to fly him down. Decor - Caribbean Celebrations - in house vendor, had no choice here. DJ - Mannia. Paying the outside vendor fee. Music is very important to us and we read several reviews recommending Mannia over the in house DJ. He helped us with price given the outside vendor fee so it turned out to be a tiny bit more expensive, but not a lot. We are having him come for the welcome BBQ and the wedding. Resort wanted to charge us the outside vendor fee for EACH DAY. I pushed back HARD citing it never said that in the contract and eventually they agreed to only charge it once. Hair/Make up - I rented the bridal suite and getting all of our hair and make up done by the in house stylists. I have 9 bridesmaids, myself and my mom. I am treating all of them to their hair and make up as part of their gift. There is a package that includes bridal suite, 4 hair/make ups and bridal hair and make up, which i purchased. Since i get my hair done free with my wedding package, i only needed to add 4 more hair and make ups (if anyone wants more info on this or pricing let me know). Paper - my very good friend is starting her own etsy business with her mom after her wedding this summer became a huge hit. She did everything herself and really enjoyed it, and now her wedding is featured in brides! http://www.brides.com/blogs/aisle-say/2016/01/washington-dc-wedding-ideas-photos-sarah-bradshaw-photography.html So I was her first client! She did all of my menus, welcome letter, door tags, and ceremony fans! I will post pictures later when i get into details of each event. Wedding Package Paradisus has a lot of wedding packages - i will keep this short but for anyone looking at the resort just reach out to me for more details. We chose the Tailor Made - which is the most expensive but it includes the welcome BBQ and many other things we knew we wanted. Unfortunately, it includes some things we didn't want decor wise, and we are still paying a lot of money for flower upgrades. I work in finance, so naturally I ran all the numbers and still decided for what we wanted, it made sense to do this package over others. Guests We are having 88 people total, including us and 2 kids (our nephews). Everyone is staying at the resort. Schedule of Events Thursday 6-9pm: Rehearsal dinner on La Baraza boat: http://weddingboatpuntacana.com/ this is for family and wedding party only. Thursday 9pm: Welcome drinks at the resort bar for everyone Friday 6pm: All White Beach BBQ Saturday 5:00pm (official start time 5:30pm but want guests to get there early) - ceremony on the beach 6:30pm: cocktail hour at Fuego beach 7:30pm - 11:30pm: Reception at Fuego Restaurant. We had to pay extra to privatize this space. But it is incredible and exactly what we were looking for. 11:30pm: after party at Red Lounge (the resort bar/club) this top floor will be just the dance floor and then theres a level that wraps around this where the tables will go. I will go into detail for each event and post more pictures. We are getting to the resort on Tuesday. Everyone else is getting there either Wed. or Thurs. with a few people getting there Friday.
  11. wow your vows just made me tear up at work! so beautiful - congratulations!
  12. i got the champagne ones too - and so happy that i did - they are definitely gold. also - i would advice to not take them out of the packaging until you get to the resort. i took one out and the sequin got everywhere in my apartment. obviously they are cheap for a reason. so to preserve as much sequin as possible, i am keeping all of mine (10) in their original packaging until the day of the wedding. which brings me to the question - any ideas on how to get the folds out?
  13. I was planning on getting lash extensions but the salon said that sweating, sunscreen (oils), and swimming will make them come off. did no one else get that feedback?
  14. @@amyzig2 I'm going to buy them from old navy, just enough to cover the females attending. I would guess the average size is 8, so I will probably get 60% in size 8, 25% in size 9, 15% in size 7 and the rest in size 10. Something like that.
  15. i would sign up for the email alerts for wedding chicks so you get an email when the next sale is up! the shipping on the bags was relatively fast, so you definitely have time. I love our bags, they are very good quality and much bigger then we thought! I just received the table runner and it looks very nice. More elegant then I expected. The sequin is really small and the fabric super thin so it looks very nice. The only downside is it sheds like crazy. I took it out once to show my friend who lives next door, got sequin all over her couch, and then quckly put it back in the bag and stored it. I think if u plan on using it just once, its totally fine and worth the money u will save. I would just preserve them and not take them out of the bag until the day of the wedding. I got champagne and its perfect, not too yellow and not pink at all. I would describe it as light gold. My only concern is if they get creases from being folded for the next 3 months, how to get them out the day of the wedding. I haven't figured this out yet.
  16. Hi! I am getting married there 2/27/16! I won't repeat anything said above and totally agree the resort is perfect if you have kids in your wedding. It really blows other resorts out of the water and we have stayed at many all inclusives, mostly adults only and even still Paradisus stands out. We did the site visit promotion and I think it was like $1450 for 3 nights 4 days which will now get taken out of the cost of the wedding. Outside of the luxury grounds, they are known for weddings. They only have 2 weddings a day, one on the beach and one in a gazebo - maximum. So you feel totally private and pampered. I have seen pictures of NOW larimar beach weddings with several wedding gazebos in a row - not ideal. The wedding coordinators on site are also amazing. Miami coordinators which u will work with up to a month before your date (although I secretly email the on site coordinator still haha) are very responsive as well. They are just a bit clueless and work like robots. U ask for something, they give u a price. That's about it. Which brings me to the next point - paradisus is definitely the most expensive. We also did the tailor made package, upgraded to Fuego which is basically a private beach club for the reception, and added a lot of extras mostly in terms of flowers, and it all adds up to more $ then u plan on (we expect 80 guests) They also charge an outside vendor fee of $1000 plus 18% tax, plus day passes for those vendors (+ tax and service charge on those too). So they really do get u on everything. Their vendors are ok. We are using an outside DJ and flying our videographer down (if he stays 3 nights u don't have to pay vendor fee) but other then that we are using their preferred vendors. I am trying to look past how much more money it is then I thought - And I know in the long run it will be worth it. I won't go into details of my wedding unless any of you ladies have questions. Feel free to PM me for any details or questions about vendors, booking, anything really because I think I've gone through it all at this point.
  17. @@nkavanaugh i totally hear you on not being able to picture it until its right in front of you. I have struggled with this a lot. i ordered a champagne sequin table runner from chair factory just to try out. Unfortunately have to pay for the shipping, but at this point, i don't want to order 10 if they aren't going to be what i am looking for. so i will let you know as soon as i get it! my plan is to have white table linens and these gold sequin table runners. I am going to have a tall centerpiece surrounded by votive candles and gold mercury votive candles on half of the tables, and then 4 long floating candle holders and 2 smaller bouquets on the other half of the tables. my flowers are going to be all white with a tough of soft yellow (my bridesmaid dresses are yellow). and the venue itself has all gold and white (draping) hues so I am hoping it will all come together to look elegant. the only things for decorations i plan on bringing with me are votive candles, gold mercury votive candles, the ikea lanterns, and table runners. for the videographer - this is where setting things in stone over 6 months in advance did not work out for me. originally we booked the photographer and videographer through the preferred vendor at our resort, as we did not want to pay an outside vendor fee and we thought they were good enough. but then 2 of our close friends got married this summer and they both used this one videographer that we absolutely fell in love with. his videos are unreal, the quality is amazing, and he is also a very cool guy that got to know our group of friends. So we ended up asking him to come to Punta Cana. And we are using the money we already paid for the videographer in punta cana towards the Photo Booth and some other extra things (since the photographer and videographer was the same company - Tropic One) Honestly, after watching all of this videos on his website (some more then once), I have never been so sure about anything for the wedding. He is going to be there for 3 nights and 4 days filming everything and there is no price you can put on having high quality videos to relive the most important event in your life for many many years to come. pictures just don't really do it justice, in my opinion. If you have 20 mins to spare and want to check out some of his work and get inspiration for wedding videos: www.lifeinrewind.com our friends weddings are the "liya and ben" and "kc and katie". for welcome bags, i ordered the Hola Amigo bags from wedding chicks during one of their 40% off sales. we chose the bags and then just waited for the sale which they have once every 2 months or so. For contents, outside of the hangover kits, aloe, sunscreen, etc, we plan on getting picture frames and then putting a generic thank you note in them, and then later on sending a picture of the guests with their thank you note after the wedding, so they can put the picture in the frame. We also plan on getting cigars, just have to decide whether to do it once we get to Punta Cana, apparently there is a cigar factory close to our resort. And we are going to include personalized sunglasses just in case people don't want to wear their nice expensive ones when things get rowdy. Oh and we are gong to have flip flops at the reception, not in welcome bags. Outside of that, I am still working on ideas. Since its an all inclusive resort, getting waters or rum or anything like that I feel is unnecessary. For decor, we are using Caribbean Celebrations which is the in house decor company for Paradisus Resorts in DR. Unfortunately Paradisus charges $1,000 outside vendor fee (plus 18% tax), so we did not really have a choice. We are only paying the outside vendor fee for the DJ, because music is incredibly important to us and we decided to use an outside DJ based on reviews. For the videographer, because he is staying for 3 nights at the resort, the fee is waived.
  18. @@nkavanaugh hey! i am also looking at chaircoveryfactory for gold sequin table runners but I haven't ordered them yet. I am deciding whether to do silver ones for our all white bbq as well, but definitely plan on doing gold sequin for the reception. did you get any feedback? im just afraid of them being low quality/tacky looking. I ordered a sample from this store on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1064332107 andit came out great, but its more expensive then chairfactory. I kind of want a lighter gold so I may have to go with champagne, but im afraid that will be too pink! Don't stress too much about planning, you still have plenty of time! We are doing most of our decorations with the decor company at the resort, because like you, we are expecting a bigger group, 80-100 people. So things that I plan on bringing with us are small things like votive candle holders + candles, welcome bags, picture frames, escort cards, little things like that. So i started slowly purchasing those when I was 6 months out and not nearly finished. I am finalizing all the decor with the decorating company now (flowers, lights, chairs, etc). The one bigger thing we are bringing are ikea lanterns that i plan on using 3 times for centerpieces: rehearsal dinner (on a boat), welcome bbq, and cocktail hour. and I may even use them along the aisle at the ceremony. One of my bridesmaids has status with delta so she gets to check in bags for free, so I spent a lot of time looking for a centerpiece that i can re-use at different events and thats what i came up with: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30122986/they come fully assembled and packaged in bubble wrap. so as far as a checklist, i would just make sure you have your venues booked, photographer, videographer, and music. all the decor really doesnt need to be done until 4 months out, but to spread out the cost, buying a few things here or there doesnt hurt. i also have changed my mind on decor over the last 6 months like 10 times, so for me setting things in stone too far in advance would not have worked. if you have questions or want to bounce off ideas on handling a big group, just let me know!
  19. @@Soly29 hi! I just booked Rodrigo too for my wedding in Feb at Paradisus Palma Real so your review is very re-assuring. Thank you! A separate question for you - were you able to negotiate anything down with Caribbean Celebrations? Everything does add up a lot, and I am bringing some stuff form home but not much and trying to re-use things, but I would love to negotiate the flowers with them if I can.
  20. @ hi! sorry i know this is not your official planning thread but i was just reading through and noticed you are doing champagne sequin table runners. I plan on doing something similar, either light gold or champagne, and deciding between chevron or regular. Where did you get your table runners? i ordered some samples from this Etsy seller: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1064332107but im just worried because I definitely want the sequin to be delicate and not too tacky. thank you!
  21. @@yycbride2016 hey, love your thread! I am looking to do lanterns for my welcome dinner center pieces too and I saw the ones you found at Ikea. I was wondering which size you got? There is one that is 8in high and one that is 15in. And I am just not sure the 8in will be tall enough? And I love the idea of lining the aisle with them, but then again, will they be too short? sorry i know the lanterns were discussed months ago.. just catching up as im getting to crunch time! thanks!
  22. @@Wafflesmom@calgarybride2015 thank you!! this actually makes the decision on getting those flowers much easier for me! I also plan on getting 2 big centerpieces to put on tall white blocks infront of the ceremony set up, and then re-using those centerpieces for the escort table at the reception. So I am all for reusing flowers and decorations, they are so expensive and when you have a 15 minute ceremony its so sad to waste! @@Wafflesmom we also have a dog that is basically our child, and we are extremely sad we cant include her in the wedding. One cute idea that I had that may interest you too, was to have her as part of our cake topper like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/236303602/custom-wedding-cake-topper-with-feather love all of your ideas so far!
  23. @@Wafflesmom maybe this is a stupid question, but how do you plan on reusing the flowers from the gazebo for your sweetheart and cake table? I would love to do that too and plan on having 2 sets of flowers on each side of the gazebo (and they are super expensive) so I would love to re-use them, but I havent figured out how! Do you just lay them flat on the table? thank you!!!
  24. @@Bride1030 I am using Tropic One for my wedding at Paradisus Palma Real. If you look on their facebook page, they have a lot of photos. We requested Rodrigo, Lala is the other photographer. Here are the prices: Basic $800 - room + ceremony + photo session Medium $1000 - same as above + 1hr reception Big $1500 - same as above + 2hr reception Full $1950 - same as above $ 3hr reception each one of them includes a certain amount of digital and printed pictures too.
  25. hi girls! wanted to see if there are any new Paradisus brides out there? We just passed the 9 month mark (2/27 at palma real) and have made most of our big decisions already. Planning on making most of the "extras" decisions in the next few months so would be great to bounce back ideas! xx
