My wedding is in less than 2 weeks!! Eeeek!
Check out the pre-wedding mailer I sent to all my guests. There are 3 pictures in my gallery:
http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/gallery/image/78650-pre-wedding-care-package/
I love the package you sent to your guests! Where did you find the custom luggage tags?
That's good to know! We are flying down with Westjet for the BDR in November, I think we may need to find our own way to the resort then? It is good to know our Sunwing package includes an airport transfer-thanks!As a Canadian transfers are included however, when I visited for the BdR, I used lomas transfers. The info on these transfers are on their website... I wouldn't recommend them though- we waited forever for our private driver to arrive.
It was only about 15 Mins from the airport... Major plus!
We've used Cancun transfers twice - http://www.cancuntransfers.com
their website isn't shiny or slick, but the service was great. We book through the website, and haven't had any issues at all. Private door to door service, about $80 for two people, round trip. Sometime we have to wait at the airport for 10-15 minutes which is pretty typical.
Thank you for that info! We will into using them in Nov, and I'll pass that along to my guests coming from the US and UK.

I have flown with Sunwing 6 times and never really had an issue other than a 20 min delay. We are using them for our wedding!
That's awesome to learn. Thanks!

This info is so great! We have lots of info on our wedsite, but a lot of our guests don't seem to be checking/reading it, so far. This will really help us highlight the important information. Thanks!

They aren't necessary. But, we vacationed to Riviera Maya in September. We got pictures taken by the resort photographer we only bought 3, pictures at $15 each. We used one for our save the dates, return labels, and on our website
We also bought pictures when we went zip lining and atving. We put those pics on our website as well
That sounds like so much fun!

Hello!
For those who have been to the Azul Senatori before, how did you get there from the Cancun airport? Thanks!
-
We sort of did engagement photos-we wanted one for our Save the Date. We got engaged in the Bahamas, and did a really fun excursion SUBing-Scenic Underwater Bubble.
At the end of our excursion the dive company had photos of us for sale for $15, and we decided to use our photo as our "engagement photo".

Even though my parents are a bit scandalized, we will be sleeping in the same room the night before the wedding. We live together and will be legally married before our DW.
On the wedding day we are having breakfast in bed, and my H2B will be checking into his "groom's suite" at 10AM so I can get ready for the wedding, which starts at 3PM.
We liked the idea of the groom's suite because it leaves our room available for my bridesmaids and I to get ready, and we won't see each other for most of the day before the wedding. I think my H2B is looking forward to hanging out with his guys in his own space before the wedding.

So funny everyone's experience. I've never had a problem with Sunwing and actually prefer them. I've had problems with all other airlines. I wish we could have used Sunwing for our wedding but air Canada was the cheapest. Like you a cheaper price was never found so all booked with us
Edit; to be honest I've never really had major problems with any airline. Just the basics that everyone has with every airline.

I'm so happy and relieved to hear that you have had OK experiences with Sunwing! I've had good and bad experiences with all the airlines I've flown on, so I suppose there will always be a bit of luck involved.

I'm here now!!!! Wedding is tomorrow!!!
Ladies!!!! It is beautiful and the staff are MORE than accomadating!!!!
After your event, they gather your decorations and you pick them all back up at the end of your trip. I brought a TRILLION items and so far every instruction has been followed!!!
For the future brides, you won't be disappointed!!!
Congratulations and best wishes on your wedding day!
@@Chrysta thank you for the info on Vanessa and Dave. I am already conversing with them and they have won me over with the good price and quality. Thank you everyone else for the info very helpful.
Now I do see some of the past and future brides going with photographers other than karisma vendors. Those of you bringing in your own photographer, is the vendor from your hometown or someone in the area close to Azul sensatori?
Carrie
We are using PhotoStudioAB because friends of ours recommended them, and because they are less expensive than Matias Cano, even with the $800 outside vendor fee!
There are so many terrible reviews for Caribe that we were sure we didn't want to use them. If Matias Cano had been a bit more reasonably priced we probably would have gone with him.

Hi @@carrieandsam my wedding is in March 2015, and we sent out our STDs in March 2014, and our formal invitations in April 2014, with our deposit deadline for our group rate at the end of April 2014.
We've actually had some people book after this, but they weren't able to take advantage of our group rate. The resort is sold out for some of our wedding week, so our late-bookers are arriving later and staying later than most of our wedding group.
@@Vbustamove I will be at the BDR then too! Looking forward to seeing you there

@@TinkerSofi and @kmk2016 I'm going to try that approach too, thank you! We are bringing 75 people for a week, I feel like we deserve something!
@@mrsnatalietobe your itinerary is super cute! I think I'm going to try and put something like that together.

Hello!
We have a package through Sunwing, and none of our guests have been able to find a better price than our group rate, although many have tried!
We've had a few guests book their own flights, only to avoid travelling on Sunwing, which has a terrible reputation for travel delays. I actually know a few pilots and flight attendants who work for Sunwing and they are apparently very understaffed and pretty much always have delays.
So some of our guests book Westjet flights to avoid the Sunwing problems, but they are spending a lot more to stay at the resort.
I was actually hoping to avoid using Sunwing, but the prices were so much better that in the end we decided to go with the lower price and cross our fingers it all works out!

@@AllieH and @@TinkerSofi thank you for the seating information!
Canadian Brides FYI: We were feeling a bit left out of the Karisma promotions, coming from Canada, as we were not eligible for the free cocktail parties, etc. However, our TA was just able to negotiate a 20% discount for us to make up for this!

We just had it on the plate it came on and it looked nice. They also provided us with a cutting set.
THANK YOU for that information! We won't bring a cutting set with us-one less thing to pack
@@raqpena Brigitte was originally my WC, and I have still only heard from her even after the team reorganization. It usually is 2 days-1 week to get a response, 3-4 weeks is way too long!
For the reception table set up it seems like there are round tables and the option of a sweetheart table. I'm wondering if anyone has considered doing a "head table" that includes their wedding party? We are having two bridesmaids and groomsmen, and I'm wondering if they would just put three of the sweetheart-sized tables together to make a "head table" type of thing. Thanks!
-
@@rebepax I'm not sure but my guess is that neither a cake stand nor a cake cutting set are provided, as they are items listed for purchase on the Lomas website.
www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/Wedding-Cakes
We are planning to bring a cake cutting set and hopefully the cake will look OK just sitting on the table. It's already expensive enough!

Thank you for the info on the flower prices! We are just a bit worried about picking them up on the wedding date. We will certainly consider it though.
@linaco80
This is the note I got from a local florist if you want to compare costs:
Bride's bouquets with local flowers like Roses, Alstroemerias, Gerbera Daisy, Lisianthus, Asian Lilies, and local Calla Lily (Alcatraz) among other flowers cost around $135.00 usd to $165.00 usd, including imported flowers like Orchids, Tulips, Ranunculus, Anemones, Calla Lily and others, the prices starts at $175.00 usd to $225.00 usd and up...Including Peonies start at $255.00 usd
Bridesmaids bouquets with local flowers cost around $50.00 to $70.00 usd, including imported flowers starts at $75.00 and up...
Boutonieres cost $20.00 usd for almost any kind of flowers...
Corsages cost around $25.00 to $35.00 usd
Low centerpieces with local flowers cost around $65.00 usd to $75.00 usd, including imported flowers cost around $85.00 usd to $135.00 usd, Tall centerpieces starts at $155.00 usd.
Tall arrangements for altar or ceremony cost $95.00 usd medium size with local flowers and $125.00 usd large size, including imported flowers start at $150.00 usd.Does anyone know the typical ceremony outline? I am creating program fans and need to get a general idea of how the ceremony will go down...
@@rebepax Are those prices from Lomas or are you using an outside vendor? I don't want to pay more vendor fees (I have already enough vendor fees lol) Thanks for sharing the prices
I was thinking about the same with the fan programs, you could ask your WC how the whole thing will go and then perhaps add timing to the ceremony, cocktail after ceremony, picture time, dance and drinks and end up at the Mojito lounge.
Brides,
Are you using place cards on the table for all your guests? I had a friend who recently went to a DW and told me that at the entrance of the reception dinner, the couple had a nice decorated board "Today we are all a family, please choose any table" (something between those lines)
I thought that was cute and reduces pressure...although I was thinking to use the cards...what are you girls doing?
We are doing escort cards, that indicate what table # our guest are to sit at. This is mostly because my parents are divorced, and we want to keep them far away from each other.

hey
Just wondering if any of your husbands to be are wearing a navy suit?
I chose my dress a while back and it is the colour "blush" - a very light peach colour, only slightly Different from ivory.
My other half, obviously doesnt know what my dress is like and has purchased a navy, but not too dark blue suit!
I am really not sure if this will go, and I think a navy blue colour on the gazebo is too dark?! Whats your thoughts girls?
I think that colour combination would be lovely! Also, neither of you will fade away with a white or beach background.
I have asked and showed my coordinator a few pictures regarding the lighting at Plaza Zavaz. Putting aside any lighting you might have added to the pavilion, what other lighting is standard?
It seems like most people wrap the poles, and some hang lights inside too. I read that one bride is hanging a chandelier.
I really don't want to bring lights down with me, but that is likely what we will do as Lomas charges $200 for a string of 12!

Hello!
I'm getting married at the Azul Sensatori in March and I've learned so much from this forum. Thank you to everyone who has been posting, such valuable insight.
I'm sure I'll have queetions but I haven't finished reading through the previous posts yet.
Like many others I have found dealing with the Miami WCs very frustrating. Even with the team reorganization it takes them about a week to get back to us.
