  1. I couldn't even get the price per hour per person reduced for the KIDS who weren't old enough to drink booze! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Honesty all I brought was my colored lip gloss and just used what the resort offered which was MAC products. They sprayed my face after to set the makeup. Sounds like your shower was great. I totally understand not wanting to be the center of attention. Love the swim suits. Especially the flowered one. You will rock them. April 7 will be here in NO time. Yay!!!! Hope you get the last of your stationary soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Congrats!! Hope you have the wedding of your dreams! Please come back to tell us all about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Congrats on your legal this weekend!! And a dress fitting after Easter is like getting that dress on after a few crazy days in Mexico Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Are you guys doing the cocktail hour after your ceremony? Is it just the champagne and appetizers or is there some other one I am not seeing? The champagne and appetizers happens right after the ceremony. If you want an hour of open bar you have to pay for that. That is what we did... so champagne toast, then open bar where they had the appis then. How did you guys find the reception time was, long enough or did you wish you had extended? I extended mine 3 hours, so in total we had 6 hours. I can assure you 3 isn't long enough, but you could get away with less than 6. You have a lot of people though so things will take longer across the entire wedding (ie group / family photos, time to eat, speeches, etc.) Timeline for the day; would anyone mind sharing theirs? What time did you guys start getting ready? My ceremony is at 4:30. 9:00am Me and the 3 BM's went to the spa. I would say we were done by around 1230/1245pm. Had a quick lunch in the spa restaurant and after waiting for the shuttle, got back to our room around 2pm. Our ceremony was at 3pm so had just enough time to get dressed/take getting ready photos before being whisked off. No idea when the boys got ready, but they had their photos starting around 1:30pm ish I believe. 3-330pm ceremony and toast 330-4pm group/family photos (have a list for your MC and have them get everyone ready - moves it along quicker and ensures all the must have photos are done) 4-5pm open bar/cocktail hour and bride/groom photos 5-11pm reception (entrance, speeches, dinner, fun game, first dance, dancing, cake, dancing) Any idea if the resort allows sparklers or wish lanterns? No idea, I would ask. Sparklers are hard to come by and as said above are illegal on a plane. Maybe the WC has a source to get you some. Most brides on here mention their DJ getting them some. I know I have a million questions I am not thinking of lol, starting to panic a bit. PS. Who did the buffet and was pleased vs the plated meal? Thoughts on that. We did the buffet and are super pleased. Numerous meat options, salads, sides, buns, you name it - very good. Probably the best food of the week!
  6. For me being a large breasted lady lol I would be ok in this type of dress if I could wear a bra. You wouldn't get me in it otherwise. I buy my swim suits with built in bras too. Is that possible? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Congrats. Your story and engagement are heartwarming I'm so glad in the end you and Chuck decided to do what your hearts wanted not everyone else. It's tough not to feel the guilt and do as others want. As you see that never turns out well. Good for you two and as I've said in another post - you picked a fabulous resort. Can't wait to read more. If you have any questions about the resort just let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The name changes take time. I got the massive ones done but not some of the little 'who cares' ones. Sometimes when I call in I give the wrong name hehe. Once you have your thank you cards done you should be good to go! They are daunting but I just sat down and got em done Can't wait to see your video I'm sure it's fabulous Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. We did those dances together too. We used 'because you loved me' (or whatever it's called) by Celine Dion. I couldn't decide so I used what my sister had some 18 years earlier at her wedding hehe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Awe Hun ((hugs)) I'm sure the actions of your friend and her mother are out of despair for what she's going thru. That's still no excuse for the way they've treated you. Your wedding still must go on and they need to appreciate and accept that. I hope once the hurt and confusion and grief passes her and the family she can see that you've done no wrong here and wanted the best for her. I really hope that Stephanie's veil will work for you or you find something so last minute. Such a sweet offer. I think all you've done looks fantastic!!! It is going to all come together great! Your to do list is manageable especially with ten days alone! What does he do that he gets to go to Cuba? Lucky man. Can work on his pre Mexico tan haha I got my fans from Michaels. They had a 50% coupon so I went 3 times. For 45 fans I paid $45. Oriental trading had cheap ones too but it's not Canadian so time may be short I got a blue garter at Michaels for pretty cheap. Under $10. I didn't do a toss either but wanted it anyways by the end of the night it was off and being passed around. No idea who had it now lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The level is fantastic AND a suite on the level is OMG. Have you been on u tube to see some of the videos taken of the suites. The balconies are awesome and the views will be outstanding!!! I personally feel you've chosen a great resort. I'd go back there is a heartbeat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I would. Passports aren't cheap!! We legally married in Canada before our DW. It was only a week before and since I didn't have time to change my passport I still haven't. Been traveling in my maiden name as I have a few years left Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Does your package include your bouquet? If it does I would use that as its included and won't cost you money! Wow they've increased a lot. When I used them I paid $1600 for 8 hours lol I did all my printing at home off my canon ink jet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Was there no packages thru Adventure Photo for that price to just cover the ceremony? Their prices have went up a lot though since I married. I did most stuff myself. Made my invites. And had a wedding website that was free with our info. Did all my own decor for the wedding and brought it with me. Heck my maracas as favors were under 85 cents each! For flowers I got small bouquets for my bridesmaids and then used them as centerpieces at the reception. Otherwise didn't pay for any decor items or extras like that from the resort (other than petals and bouts) You don't need any outside vendors other than maybe photography as the GS has everything on site so that'll save you money in the outside vendor fee. If you can make it yourself - do Or seek out cheapest options. Or compromise on a cheaper option (I wanted to give everyone a bubba but compromised on tumblers) Coupons!!! Never shop at Michaels without one Buy used - check sites like kijiji I'm sure I'll think of more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I didn't marry at your resort but your feelings are just. I was also nervous bringing my wedding rings but I wasn't prepared to purchase fake duplicates like some brides do. We had no issues having it locked up!!! With respect to cash gifts. We just put them in the safe again with no issues. I didn't declare anything personally (was I supposed too???) although I probably wouldn't have hit the max anyways which I believe is $10k. Don't quote me on that. Trying to remember the customs form. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I think I'd ask the host for an idea of the vibe. The only reason I say that is if you show up in jeans and everyone is in a dress you may feel uncomfortable and no one wants that otherwise I'm all for whatever you like but thinking more of everyone else is dressed up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Sorry I wasn't married at your resort but my experience from this board is that the turn over isn't uncommon. I think 230pm for a 500pm ceremony is much to late. You'd need at least 2 hours for hair and makeup for you. Then getting back to room and everyone getting ready. And the photographer getting those photos. Seems really short for time. Getting ready and those photos should be allotted an hour. But if you are having a first look you'd need even longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I didn't marry at your resort but the service was so fast I would have to chug half my drink as they passed me my next. If you are getting open bar at your reception I personally wouldn't pay more for wine on the tables - since you get open bar they may put some out for you for free. I don't think it would make anyone scramble. I would assume with 15 mins to go before start time the decor should be done IMO. Either way I think most people will be on time. So either say it's 15 mins earlier or say it starts sharp! We didn't have a podium for our MC. They just stood by the head table! If you want one of course feel free but if it's super pricey I think you may be surprised that they don't really need one so happy they accepted your request. We had 4 of us for hair and make up. With that and a light rushed lunch we started at 9am and didn't get back to the room till almost 2pm. So I would say (and I think every bride on here will agree even @ who mentioned it recently) give yourself way more time than you think you need. It's not fun to feel rushed and possibly miss stuff you may regret. Soooo close. Hope your WC calls tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I can't recall exactly. 1-2 months before I'd say Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. We did post cards and honestly I've read them numerous times since we got married. I think you should consider it such a great memory but that's just me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @@vancouverpetunia As a girl who won't live a day without a pedicure, my opinion would be get a shellac pedicure. The sand and such will eat regular polish right off. First trip to Mexico I was flabbergasted and ever since get shellac for trips! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I agree ... And jerk face is an understatement. Please tell me this 'girl' dumped his a$$. This happened to my friend - not before their wedding but she was pregnant with their 3rd child. Douche city ladies!! Omg I feel so bad for her. Like wtf?? Everything is coming along great and love the items you posted. Those sandals are perfect and you can wear them later. Sorry did you say you may not have a guestbook at all? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. @ OMG I want to hope your kidding but I know your not. WTF?!? Even if her booking benefited you - a $4 card is to freaking much to ask? Wow I don't blame you for not speaking right now. I have no words. Hugs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Yay!! Loved your review and I read it all can't wait for your professional photos! You look absolutely beautiful and your groom looked handsome in his suit. All your work paid off and everything looked great!!! I have Aranza on FB if you wanna scope her out and add her (if you haven't already) she really is fantastic. Couple things - I agree. The golf cart getting to the spa was annoying. We had a little run in with the driver lol Do you remember who did your hair? It looked fantastic. We had no issues with them asking re lashes! I think Aranza delivered the bouts to the palapa but could be wrong. I do know that's where my dad got his put on Did you not get drinks at your cocktail hour?? The waitresses would go to the palapa and deliver back to the beach! And I agree - I couldn't even get a drink done and they were delivering another!!! Hahaha the iguana. I read that in another review too. So glad they got it sorted out. The wedding cake was fab. I had more than once piece. Soooooo glad you had the time of your lives. It is a great place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Awesome!!! I just had my one year in Jan and got my second band too love it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
