  1. Hi Tanya - If you don't mind me asking, where did you find your DIY invitations?
  2. Hi J - Apologies but I haven't had my morning tea yet but are you trying to combine the wedding invitation with the STD? I would keep everything seperate: - STD: that would be one mailing. - destination invite: would be mailing #2 - home reception invite: mailing #3 If it isn't too close to your date "Raquelita" over on the newbie boards had a great suggestion to include interest/reply cards with the save the date to gauge how many people planned to come or were on the fence. Those would be the ones to get wedding invitations. Hope that helps.
  3. Hi Ladies - I too am a NJ bride but further north (Hudson County I think.) I am a Baltimore girl who relocated so I am still learning those things. We live in Edgewater if that helps. Congrats to you both! You are where I want to be planning wise. I am just getting started and trying not to confuse myself. lol
  4. Raquelita- Thank you so much for sharing this! I think it is great as it cuts invite costs but helps you have a sense of wedding size. Thanks!
  5. Hi All - I too am a 2015 bride (if we stick with our February date). My challenge is that the Mexico AI's we like, do not allow kids & I am trying to work around/ incorporate her because we are close & she would be heart broken if she wasn't a part of the wedding or staying at the same location as my parents (especially "Grrrraaannnndad- the ultimate playmate) or me. My Sis & BIL are picky so I am have a challenge finding something family friendly they will like if it comes down to going with what we want. Anyone out there deal or dealing with a similar situation? Also, is anyone using a travel agent to help with choosing locations & negotiating rates etc? If so, do you mind sharing their name & info? Thanks!
  6. Hi Kris - Thanks so much for the response! I would love to check in together. I am sooo glad you aren't in the area - I would hit you up for cooking tips and invite myself over for dinner lil. A college friend career changed and became a pastry chef. Needless to say she is always on everyone's invite list because she usually is accompanied by somehing she whipped up lol. I will pm my email.
  7. Hi All- I have 60lbs to lose before I start dress shopping. Our planned wedding isn't until early 2015. Is there anyone out there who either is a trainer or is in the northern NJ (e.g., Edgewater, Weehawken, Fort Lee, Englewood etc...) or NYC area and is in need of a workout buddy. I just had back surgery so I cannot start until the beginning of December.
  8. Hi All- I am a newbie looking to plan a February 2015 wedding in either Cancun/Puerto Morelos/Playa del Carmen/Riviera Maya. I really wanted a nice all-inclusive with top notch food but am finding this to be a challenge when I factor in my 9 yo niece. She will be heart-broken if she isn't at the same resort as everyone else (e.g., me, my parents, etc...). I really wanted to go the AI route to make it easy & truly relaxing for guests (no worry@ budgeting for meals, fun free classes like Sushi making, wine tasting etc...). I have seen on other sites that Beach Palace is an option worth exploring but also saw not so fab reviews re food. I have stayed at Aventura Spa Palace & know the food there was average. Guessing many will read this and think I am being too picky. If anyone has suggestions & feedback on how they got around similar dilemmas, please send them my way. Also, if you have planner/travel advisory recommendations, please send those as well. Thanks in advance!
