  1. Thank u for all of that!! I wonder if we would do a catamaran hmmm lol:) Is that gazebo the same as the one from korenann's wedding?(pics above). I love the setting but don't know if we can fit 40-50 people in there!!
  2. LOOK AT YOU GO IN THAT VIDEO, IRON WOMAN! So glad you shared that. You are definitely not alone in this! My gosh, that is terribly unfortunate about your previous experiences with trainers not working out. I would be feeling lost too! The results do come, like you said, but with patience and consistency. I found setting long term goals can be helpful in maintaining my focus. You may have physical (appearance) related goals, but also those based on performance, overall health and mental well being, etc. Would you see yourself working out at home with the needed equipment or do you envision yourself back at a gym? You could maybe ask around to people you know, and see what gyms/personal trainers they would recommend..? Just some thoughts.
  3. Oh no doubt! Which is why I wanted to be clear that I was being super short in my response. Maintaining muscle whilst performing copious cardiovasc work is most definitely doable, but most women don't eat to maintain the fruits of their labor, which means they end up whithering away!
  4. YAHOOO!!!!!! Beautiful! Canada Post was at my door with them today while I was on the road, can't wait to pick up the dresses on Sunday yipee!!!!
  5. Hello (lovely and calm) bride to be's! Wondering if any of you have any opinions etc on the royal haciendas (through real resorts). the Real playa del carmen looked beautiful but is NOT child friendly; the Royal Haciendas is. Anything to say about this resort for weddings, etc? Thanks!
  6. Yes great points! the catamaran was the one thing I was going to mention lol because those need to be booked probably a little in advance! We were thinking of something like this as well, and expect 40-50 guests (invite is at 60 so far). How much r you looking at for cost for the catamaran if you don't mind me asking? We are cutting down our list of possibilities and grand princess is a top 5 right now! No date yet, and our TA wants to wait til sometimes after june/july to book. She is working her magic with pricing lol. CONGRATS ON YOUR BIG DAY BEING SET! Do you know where on the resort(s) you want to be married at grand princess (MR or sunset side?) Great points, thanks for sharing!
  7. Hahah ya for you guys!!! So glad you bought the blue, they were all beautiful!!! And My fiance actually asked "didnt you buy one for yourself??" and I was like "oh wait I didn't lol"...Since we got engaged I am especially budget conscious about any extra shopping for myself lol!!! Did you get yours in the mail then? i cannot wait to feel them and see how they look in person
  8. wow! You inspire me Loved reading about your story etc and all of the lovely designs you've created! I am going to borrow some of these lovely ideas, especially the page with spanish phrases and the postcards for people to fill out when they get home! Q for you in regards to vista print. I am looking at postcards on their website, but how did you go about navigating here? You mentioned you designed your own cards. I would love to have peacock/beach themed postcards etc., is there a "style" you chose on the main postcard page? I just don't know where to best begin! Thank you!!!!
  9. That;s ok! Yeah I believe the website indicated 50 minimum is required, but that's ok! I am not too hung up on invites, but I think we finally decided to do a DW theme instead of peacock lol. I am gung ho about having peacock in the wedding, but thought we can do it in other ways instead of the invite. Since we are going away I love the idea of the beach/sand, etc being the type of invite we go with!
  10. That's great! Unfortunately she doesn't ship out her stuff, I asked if she would for 34 invites but no go.
  11. Awesome! Can't wait to read Hasn't come through yet!
  12. Sweetheartaggi, so glad that you are at least coming out of whatever that was... I can't imagine how frustrating and scary that must have been!
  13. lol I swear the iphone is not as smart as we think it is
  14. And thank you guys for the ideas re: eating disorders and fitness. I completely agree and see the need for this line of work! As luck would have it, my masters thesis is entitled "the positive coping experiences of women with bulimia" and I am very dedicated to working with populations of girls/young women who struggle with EDs.
  15. Mairelys! So glad to see your post! And you are right - this is for sharing our own goals and plans, everyone is different and that is what makes it so fun!!!! Wonderful to see some more east coasters in the house How come we all end up in Alberta!!? LOL What you describe - wanting to get into weight training - is a perfect way to meet your goals of tightening up, etc. The thing with cardio is - it DOES NOT make you harder, firmer, more "toned", etc. Only weight training can do this, and the more muscle one has the more fat that we burn! Cardio literally makes us a smaller version of ourselves, but does not shape our butts, thighs, etc. This is a very abbreviated version of what I could describe here, but I thought I would offer that. I know women especially (myself included) have a very difficult time letting go of doing cardio - we do it to try and compensate for food we ate (even though you can't out train a bad diet), they do it because they feel guilty over eating something, or they do it because they think that it will trim their thighs. I am by no means saying this is how ALL women are, but I've been in this mindset myself before, and I see it so much in the female friends I have. It was only until I took the plunge, increased calories dramatically, lifted iron like mad, and STOPPED the crazy cardio bunny business that I finally witnessed my body transforming in all the ways I had hoped. Mind you, cardio is FANTASTIC for cardiovascular health and I am in no way knocking it. It can be therapeutic and it is wonderful to have performance goals with running a 5k for example! And heck, Zumba is a frikin party, I love it! Personally, I like to commit to PURPOSEFUL cardio. That is, cardio that will help me meet my goals, without spinning my wheels. Everyone will differ, and this is the beauty of us as individuals. I am simply talking in terms of building a tighter body, etc. For example... someone wants to lose fat and gain muscle (this doesn't mean becoming the Hulk) - they keep eating the same calories day in and day out, and do cardio 5-7 days a week, running themselves ragged. This will not help you firm up, but rather, it can mess with your cortisol levels, you will be frustrated with seeing no changes, and you'll simply shrink in size but still have the fat in the areas you wish to reduce, etc. So with that babble, where are you with looking into weight training? Are you currently at a gym where you could seek help from a local trainer to show you exercises etc? Are you hoping to dedicate a certain # of days a week to weight training, etc? I am sure many of us in here would be happy to help in any way we can! I've helped a few of my girlfriends get started with weight training, and they were all taken with it immediately. I love "lifting things up and putting them down" (as the commercial says)
  16. Agreed with sgreen! PS- sassy pics girl! gorgeous I half contemplated getting a second dress in case I didn't feel like wearing mine, but I think u can definitely just take some fun shots semi in the water etc, without ruining it! And my friend also got the resort to clean hers after being submerged in it and it looked like new
  17. Awesome!! Look at you, way to go! So sorry that you got sick, really hoping you are feeling better - eat and grow girl! Yes, I feel so blessed that my partner supports my goals. As I tried on all my summer clothes I had a brief moment of defeat when none of it fit..But this is what I WANT! I want to get bigger! My man was great in dealing with this situation lol, and I feel so blessed to have him on my side. BellaFalconi - holy moly she is built, love it! So who is your canadian coach? That's awesome! I am going to be a psychologist in a few yrs, and would love to someday marry my passion to fitness with counselling in some way. Love that you are a trainer, I hope to become one too!
  18. Hey Mel! Wow this gallery is beautiful! did you go with one of her invites she has on her online gallery? I will send my contact info to her and see what we can work out in terms of a meeting.
  19. Wonderful thank you! I found an awesome toronto company but she doesn't ship I am checking these guys out now!
  20. hey you! that's fantastic - do you have a coach currently? Marathon, wow! Yes I can imagine you and your partner motivate one another immensely My fiance takes care of himself through exercise etc but I am admittedly "overly intense" I love it though, and it's the lifestyle I want to lead! Holy cardio girl! I do two a days on occasion with the small cardio amt I am doing currently. Do you have stage pics etc? would love to see!
