  1. I have ordered from DH Gate, including my wedding dress.... No issues. Quote: Originally Posted by jandl2013 I keep hearing bad things about DHgate. I did some research and it seems like a number of ppl had issues with them. I thought about using them also.
  2. I happen to disagree, if she needs to plan her weeding, I understand they are busy planning other weddings but one week is plenty of time for someone to get back to you, at least in the professional word, anything after 24 hours to respond to an email is totally unacceptable, a week? CRAZY! Even more unacceptable is that someone will tell you that they are busy with other brides, will get back to you and never do... Is it OK to call them and email them every day? NO, absolutely no, so I understand what you mean, but if she has main questions as needing pictures of locations, authorized vendors, a price list, etc. I don't see a problem with that, my WC gets back to me the same day, and believe me, she has other brides but we all deserve a least the courtesy of a response. If she is busy she will tell me that she will email me later on the day and I also understand that. But she never goes past the same day to respond. About figuring out what to do once you get to Mexico: How do you plan your budget or decide what you want for your big day if you have no idea how much things cost? Some people are planners and like to have everything figure out, others are not, that is ok too. I do agree that they are amazing, some more than others though. You're wedding is plenty far away that you have plenty of time to figure everything out. Just send your coordinator a email evey couple weeks with a list of questions so she can get back to you! Trust me- you really could just figure out what you are doing once you get to Mexico..these girls are amazing and know how to do their job!!!
  3. I am using mywedding.com they have pre made templates so is really easy. Quote: Originally Posted by lastminbride Hi fellow brides, Congratulations to all of you! We have to do a totally last-minute wedding due to family illness and I've taken the plunge. Friends of ours are memebers of the Palace and Hard Rock resorts, so we booked our group through them. Anyway - I need to set up a destination wedding website ASAP. Any recommendations? I'm going shopping for a dress tomorrow (rush delivery please!). What else do I need todo right away? Any tips advice you can offer are much appreciated. Let's see of I can pull this off! I'm know as an amazing hostess and throw unforgettable parties. I want ,y wedding to be grand, and with this deadline, we'll see what happens! Thanks!!!
  4. Congrats! Wow your day is almost here then! so exciting!!! My only recommendation would be not to stress, I feel like when you have an entire year to plan is so lay back that I would actually love the rush! I know I'll be getting a ton of calls about travel arrangements. Yikes! If you're not booking through membership, definitely use a travel agent! 5. I have Renee, she has been great so far and usually gets back to me within the same day. 6. Your STD's are awesome. Some people will not book until they get the real invitation and until last minute, just thought to let you know. Quote: Originally Posted by tricia-m A lot of it. So the only ones who rsvp will get the real invitation.
  7. Hi, What I know is you get plain white chairs with plain white linen, nothing else, no flowers for reception or anything else. You have to add all the decor, chair sashes, table runners, flowers, candles, etc. Who's your WC? Quote: Originally Posted by MrsPeele2B OK Moon Palace ladies I need some help. I don't have a confirmed reception are yet (working on that) but it's likely that it will be outdoors. I have yet to get in touch with my WC because she's been out ALL week. I have been reassured that she will return, she just hasn't. I'm getting antsy because naturally I'd like to confirm my space so i can start to think about decorations. It is likely that I will use Deco Cancun as i will not have to pay a vendor fee. Does anyone know what the complimentary package (with unlimited private events) comes with? These are questions I'd ask my WC but... you know the rest. Are the White Avangard chairs included with the reception setup? Or are they the covered white chairs? I only ask because I'd like to have an idea of what the bare bones reception space will look like so i can kind of plan what kind of things from DecoCancun I'd like to rent.
  8. Never seen your STD before, love them! Quote: Originally Posted by RaynDrop Aww. Thanks!! I need to get my butt moving on my invites... my plan is to send them next month! How are all your plans going??
  9. I just got tickets to it but not sure I will be there, have to work! Who's going?? Quote: Originally Posted by MrsPeele2B Hey NYC brides.... Are any of you going to the Great Bridal expo next Friday 9/27?!?!?! It would be nice to see some of you there!
  10. You don't have to worry about it being over done, there is no color out there that is not over done, just go with what your heart desires :-) Quote: Originally Posted by strwbsprkl Yeah nice color combo! 11. Anything not native to the area will be quite expensive. To keep the flower budget as low as possible, try to go with local flowers, keeping in mind that no one is going to be able to take the flowers home. 12. This is very pretty, it was one of my choice of color if I were to get married at home. Quote: Originally Posted by SoonMrsD Check this out: http://www.pinterest.com/weddingtonway/grey-and-yellow-wedding/
  13. Are you asking about ceremony or reception? Ceremony is pretty as is and reception is just dinning tables with white linens. No flowers or anything so depending of what you want yo might have to add some. 14. Marvin have gotten quite expensive!! Still cheaper than the resort but more expensive than he was a year ago. Quote: Originally Posted by shan0487

You can use the resort linens free if you keep the white and I just bought a bunch of linen for my engagement party, be aware they are HEAVY! a box with 16 was about 50 pounds. I also think outside florist is the way to go as long as they don't come inside the resort to do the set up (outside vendor fee), but I also found out that flowers in MX are more expensive in general than here in US, even if you are using a non resort vendor. 16. Here is to crossing my fingers to you, specially being that you are a Palace bride. That is what I thought before my site visit, came back and it was up to 10K, another event happened and it went to $15 and as of right now, I have no idea how much is going to be. Most of us go into planning a destination wedding thinking is going to be cheap, specially when having 50 ppl. very hard to keep it that way. 17. For DW I believe the STD have to go out a year in advance. 18. Just know, their Walmart, Costco and Sam's club are not even close to what you get here. Very limited. Quote: Originally Posted by Karen Luiza Agreed! 19. These look great, I purchased the template from Vanesa like 2 months ago and have been afraid to touch it lol, maybe I will get inspired now
  20. I use pinterest but no for wedding related things, don't want people snooping around what I am doing for the wedding. Quote: Originally Posted by SoonMrsD I just pinned it to my Pinterest Album and gave you credit! haha.... by the way does anyone use Pinterest?
  21. I have not used them but I have seem their photos, and IMO, they are not good and are just point and shoot resort potographers! You have your opinion, I have mine. 22. Well I also booked photog based on the day pass fee they told me, I will definitely flip if they tell me otherwise. Their Ocean people are no photographers but just people with cameras! Ugh. I sent the STD but very willing yo change the place if they come with that BS.
