  1. You guys just gave me a great idea, Belize, SO BEAUTIFUL! after the week long at Moon Palace, FH is not too adventurous but I am. I am just wondering if I will be able to take two weeks off work 2 months after the end of my maternity leave. And also, I would be terrified of sending the baby back to the state without us, just with my family. 3. Regular household cleaners won't damage diamonds, you can actually use diamonds to engrave on metal and the diamonds wind be damaged!
  4. TA's do that to save people money, not because they want people to go around earth, depending on how far in advance they are booking a flight to DR from NY can be up to $950 so if I were a TA and getting. $700 quote for a direct flight or $430 for a flight with stops, of course I would recommend the second one.
  5. I was told not to take it off bwcuse next thing you know you will lose your ring and not realize it is missing because you are not 100% used to it. The day after we got engaged we went on a vacation to Punta Cana and the two days I took it off to wash my hair I left it by the shower, so we sat down to dinner and FH is like, where in the F is your ring, so running to the bedroom two nights in a row, after that i took it off again while cleaning the kitchen back at home, put it by the window sill, I forgot!, I was nervous all day at work thinking someone might break into or backyard, see the ring and break the window to get it... never again, it has never been off my fingers since then.
  6. No decorations, plain church brown benches. I think they add some with the complimentary package and more with the pre paid package for catholic weddings.
  7. There was lots of seaweed when I was there in May, I think it depends on the season.
  8. My agreement is 5 pages long, it specifies dates of room block, prices, # of rooms, timeline for room release, charges in % for rooms released after certain date assigned by the resort. rules to abide by with resorts and travel agent, their responsibility with me and my group, and my responsibilities toward them, it also clearly specifies about the free events with 75 room nights - which is basically everything that is stated at the palace website. I does not say anywhere anything about any number of people. It specify about the resort dollars, check in/ out time. It also says that the rooms need to be booked using my agent and my group code for rooms to count towards my total. But now that is my TA agreement, not sure what others do, I am pretty sure all people getting into a contract with a resort an agreement (contract) is a MUST.
  9. My TA gave me a contract that I had to return with my deposit to block the rooms, your TA didn't provide anything in written at all and you just give them the money?
  10. Sorry to hear, but if I were you I would go over my contract for the room block and if it doesn't specify in there then your fight is going to be a winner. If the contract only says 75 room nights just keep fighting it. I would no give them a damn cent for set up and I will request all my free events to be honored. SMH. Also, try to get in contact with their wedding director, she is very reasonable. I also know that she checks this thread often so keep fighting. They can now say whatever they want, if it is not in written they is just what they are saying, vs. what is stated in your contract.
  11. What quote did you get? maybe they are not getting enough people because of how expensive they are? Anyway, if you could send me a private message with what you got I would really appreciate it.
  12. You really dont need any details other than the date so they can plan and a website with booking and other details, since nothing is set in stone yet you can update the website as it goes.
  13. Ok, I just tried again and it worked, so they are still available. I was clicking on the first 3 links. not the real attachments.
  14. Don't get that excited, I just tried to download the attachments and it seems not to be available anymore. too bad. :-(
  15. Míss Jali, are you ready for some new enemies? You know that will be a big issue, I just did it somewhere else to avoid stress and conflict.
  16. Wow so sorry, I am Dominican and my FH is from NY so to avoid this I choose Mexico, I know a lot of my family members will be so UPSET when they find out that I choose a destination other than my home country but when I started doing numbers, it was like 50 ppl from DR along.... Then I know I would have to pay for my grand parents, my aunts and uncles and families which can not afford, or at least pay a day pass for them, I saw numbers climbing and I rapidly backed out of the whole Punta Cana wedding concept. I wish I had words of wisdom for you, but I know my Dominican people. You invite one person to your child birthday and they will come with the entire family + their political family plus a neighbor. Same applies to a wedding. To Domincans, celebrations are to share and to have fun, they do not think about the cost.
  17. There is a forum about reaching 150, people in there will chat to you about anything and everything so it will be easy to get there. I think is called, how fast can us newbies reach 150.
  18. Check out Samuel Luna. His is my photog, great quality and reasonable pricing.
  19. They are BY FAR the most expensive I have found in Mexico... start at $6000 for a 5 hour wedding package and another $ 3000 for TTD Their photos are GREAT but after I read about their prices I gave up on that wish. My photos would be taking half the budget
