  1. I bought my STD magnets at magnetstreet and I was very impressed with the quality and prices. So just wanted to share with everyone that they do run a couple sweepstakes for free STD, free programs, $200 towards wedding stationary etc. I actually just won $200.00 towards wedding stationary and can use them towards my wedding invitations. The $200.00 I won will definatley come in handy and was a great surprise and all it took was entering some basic information. Right now they are running a sweepstakes for 250 free wedding favors. I just wanted to spread the word about magnetstreet and wish good luck to all the girls who enter.

I don't wanna sound whiny, or cranky but I'm just hurt and disappointed. I don't know what to do because I don't want her to know. I'm also very passive aggressive so, I'm bound to ignore her at the drop of the hat (immature I know). I'm just..... reeling with emotion right now. So allow me to have the moment of dramatics. Anyone else gone through this? How did you cope? How did you maintain your relationship? this -ish sucks man. Sorry to hear she said no but its good to get an answer now and move forward. I know it sucks when you do so much for others and when its your turn its not given back. It just means you are a good friend not saying she is not a good friend but right now at the stage of her life she just can't do it. She didn't have to flat out say no the way she did either she could still help you in other ways and be there for you. It'll take time to get over it I know i'm going through it too. I asked a really good friend of 29 years to be my bridesmaid 2 months ago and I have yet to get an answer I mean I know its a NO now but so rude for her to completely ignore me. At least you got the no and can move on and find someone who you are close to who really wants to do it and will be supportive along the way. In the end the only 2 people who need to be at your wedding are you and your fiance. Good luck to you and hope your planning goes smooth.

As for the dress, I got a polyester dress from Davids Bridal in their $99 sale. The only real similarity to my actual dress was the sweetheart neckline. It was perfect though! The polyester didn't absorb water which made it easy to work with. It also worked really well in the water and mad for pretty pics. If you don't want to spend the extra money on a second dress, everyone says that their dress comes out fine after a good rinse. I was just too nervous to try that.... My two cents though.... Every bride deserves to get a beautiful set of pictures like this! TOTALLY WORTH IT! Theuy came out great!!

I have had a few dj's email me some videos and its kind of hard to listen to the music and it is true. Some of the songs they play I would not personally like to hear in my wedding. So it's very much a personal preference. I wish this part was easy. I'm looking for. Dj with. Ny style. Playing nonstop party songs that we dance to in the city. He needs to mix English and Spanish. But for a younger crowd. I don't want a stuffy party. That's the same style I'm going for too. My guests are going to be mostly in their 20's and 30's and we are from NJ so we love to party, I want the right party atmosphere no cheesy wedding music. We are also hispanic so we need a good mix of spanish and english music. I'm going on my site visit in a month so I was hoping to meet the DJ that JSAV had or at least see some videos of weddings they've done before I book them since it's a pretty big expense. I would like to go with the vendor that the hotel works with to avoid paying the outside vendor fee.
  6. Can someone please send me this list too. My email is [email protected] this would come in handy for my site visit next month. Thanks in advance!!

My theory is no one is going to remember the color of the napkins, chair covers and huge centerpieces so why waste the money on that sort of stuff! lol I'm doing the same thing I'm doing the complimentary package and keeping the decorations at a minium. I think the resort and view of the beach is what everyone will remember I'll add my own touches and bring some things from home but not going to go too crazy with flowers and other decorations. I need to use my money for the important things like photos lol.

I booked Del Sol for my engagement pictures and will be doing them in October when I go for my site visit. I also fell in love with their style I only hope my fiance ends up loving them just as much as me and we can book them for our wedding as well. The only thing with choosing them is most of our wedding budget is going to photography. I'm sure its well worth it because after the wedding is over photos is all we have, right?? lol
  9. I would like to get some information on them as well. This was the DJ company my contact at my hotel gave me but I didn't really get any info about the DJ it self it was more about the packages and what was included. I want to see or hear some of their work before we make a decision to go with them.
  10. I plan on bringing them to Cancun with me and have them in their rooms so when they get there they are surprised. That's the plan but who knows things could change by then i'm going to try to keep them light and not fill them up with stuff they won't actually use. It also will depend on how many people actually end up going.
  11. I'm also having my mom walk me down the aisle. Not sure what i'm doing about the dance though if my grandpa goes then i'll do the grandfather/granddaughter dance lol. He was always there for me like a father so I would love to do have my dance with him. Not sure if my mom would be up to a mother/daughter dance.

Did you find your bridesmaids dresses at a store by you?? I don't know where to even start. I'm doing coral and turquoise as well! David's Bridal has a really nice true coral - it's called Coral Reef - I bought chiffon bridesmaids dresses and it so far matches everything. Turquoise I think is harder than Coral to find because people think aqua and turquoise and tiffany blue are the same. I went with the color "pool" for my MOH dress and love how it turned out Yes, you ar right turquoise is a tough color too. MY MOH of is also wearing a turquoise dress and my bridesmaids are doing coral I love the color combo. I hope I have good luck picking the right colors and that the girls all love their dresses.

Actually doing all different styles, but the color and fabric really pulls them together! And the girls are happy, since their styles are *quite* different, lol. 14. Newlyengaged13 yeah nj is crazy expensive to plan a wedding. I hope we get a good turnout to our destination wedding. If not it'll just be me and my groom but that will be fine too. Lol
  15. Everything looks so nice and well planned. Kuddos to your wedding party and family its so thoughtful that they surpised you like that. Looked like a lot of fun. Only a little over 2 months until your big day....Yay!
  16. I don't know if every resort/hotel does this but I know that my hotel Le Blanc Spa Resort which is a Palace Resort gives you 3 nights/4 days free for your site visit, it's called "Preview Paradise". Well it's not actually free you pay a discounted price which in my case is about half the regular room rate and then if you decide to book with the resort the money you paid to do the site inspection is credited back to you to put towards your wedding or wedding package. I booked a site visit and I am going to Le Blanc in October for a 3 night stay and will be getting that money credited back to me to put towards my wedding. In my case I already booked the hotel because we fell in love with it but at the site inspection we get to see everything in person and meet with our wedding cordinator and some vendors so we know exactly what we are getting. So in the end you are only paying for you flight to go to cancun for a quick weekend and get to ask all the questions and see everything in person which for me is crucial since i'm a visiual person. You can also then book visits with other hotels while you are there I would check and see if the resorts you are looking at offer this option. Good luck!
  17. My colors are coral and turquoise too. I've been looking at bm dress ideas but there are so many different shades of coral I don't know where to start. I think i'll go with the more muted color not the bright almost pink coral. Also i'm doing my MOH in a turquoise dress because she loves turquoise and she is my sister and she wanted to stand out (she got her way) lol. Good luck choosing your dresses/decor i'm in the early stages and know its going ot be hard to choose the right one.
  18. Yay another Le Blanc bride....so exciting. I'm getting married there on September 13, 2014. Good choice!
  19. You hit the nail on the head i'm just hurt at how she is handling it. I can take her saying she can't do it but to completely ignore me just goes to show me how little she thinks of our friendship. A week before I asked her she was calling almost everyday to talk about nothing or her wedding now crickets. I've always known her to be a little selfish I mean we've been friends for 29 years I know how she operates but I didnt think that when it came to something as big as my wedding that she would be this way. I did want her to be someone better I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. But I'll be fine I have my 3 sisters and another best friend that are more than happy to be a part of my day and are eager to help so I'll focus on that. Thanks.
  20. This kind of scares me i'm a planner so I would hate for everyone to be so last minute. Uh I hope my guests are a little more organized and considerate so I can plan accordingly.
  21. I completely agree it sucks when you realize that you just aren't getting the same treatment back. The friend that I asked to be my bridesmaid 2 weeks ago by sending her a nice card and gift still hasn't even acknowledged it not a phone call or text. She has spoken to other friends about it but not to me I just don't get her she doesn't have to commit now but at least give me a call and let me know you received it. I think after being friends almost 29 years I deserve that much. Her wedding is in a month and I get she is busy with stuff but a text takes all of one minute and like I said she has talked to my other bridesmaid about receiving the card and gift so she has the time. Its so sad to me that she could treat me like this but I guess its an eye opener. I'll take her silence as a no and I'll go to her wedding and wish her the best but its going to be hard to go back to being close friends.
  22. Need to convince my fiance that we should do a TTD shoot. I have a year to convince him, wish me luck.
