  1. After reading this thread for months now, I'm so excited that I finally have something 1) accomplished 2) to share! I'm not getting married until 2013, but since you ladies have been such an inspiration, I couldn't help but share my STDs I JUST finished! This last photo is the other side of the "Please Save the Date" insert. I'm hoping people will actually use them if they end up coming. I brought one to work to show a girl friend and three of my guy co-workers couldn't figure out how to open these (NOT THAT HARD!), so I've decided to include some SIMPLE directions, just in case! I got the actual luggage tags on http://tags.idcardgroup.com/ the tags were $47.99 for 100 and the straps were $5.50 for 100. If your total is over $100 it's free! The inserts were from vistaprint.com. Just an FYI it's going to cost about $1.60 to mail two of these in one standard envelope (it's too thick to be considered regular mail, for US mail).
  2. After reading all these posts the last several months, I can't believe I actually have something to post! I'm not getting married until 2013, but I've admired so much of all of your work, I couldn't help myself but put these pics up here! ! This last picture is actually printed on the back of the "please save the date" card. I'm hoping people will actually use them if they come. I was really excited about them and brought one to work to show one of my co-workers. A few of the guys that work there were really confused about how to open them (fyi NOT a difficult process AT ALL!) but it freaked me out so much I'm actually going to include directions on how to use them I got the actual luggage tags on http://tags.idcardgroup.com/ the tags were $47.99 for 100 and the straps were $5.50 for 100. 3. Where are all the Moon Palace 2013 Brides? Is there another forum I'm missing, or is everyone else just using the Moon Palace 2012 forum? Lots of information there! Either way, I thought I'd post my STD's I just finished! I got the actual luggage tags on http://tags.idcardgroup.com/ the tags were $47.99 for 100 and the straps were $5.50 for 100. 4. Hey Ladies! I know there has been a lot of discussion about getting outside photographers in the MP, but Del Sol Photography (La Luna has "re-joined" them as well) just called me and said they're contract with the MP has been extended! SO, you "just" have to pay the day pass ( I think it's $92 per person) per the photographer and their assistant. MUCH better than some of the other options we were all looking at. Also, apparently the MP has a two night minimum stay (for 2013), so even if you were looking into buying a room for your outside vendors, it has to be for two nights LOVE the Del Sol pics above and am so excited I'm going to be able to use them!
  5. Hey Ladies - I just signed up for a vistaprints.com account and they gave me a referral link http://vistaprint.tellapal.com/a/clk/4l5lRJ If you order before the end of March (I know! not much time...) you get 80% off using that link. I get $10 for each referral, but I'm already done ordering stuff, so either way I hope this can help a few of you out. Also, if you sign up for an account, they give you 250 free business cards (just pay for shipping). That's what I bought to make my STD luggage tags with. They always run new specials, so if you miss this deadline, don't stress... happy planning!

  7. Hi Ladies! I've been following your thread for almost a month now and am really appreciative of ALL the information! Once I start actually planning I hope I can be of some use as well. I've also been following the MP 2013 Brides thread and someone said the ocean is soo full of seaweed, people don't even go in...is this true?! I'm kinda freaking out if it is. I've read plenty of reviews that said there is a lot of seaweed on the beach, but the Palace is normally good about keeping it groomed? We really want to have our ceremony/reception on the beach, but now I'm worried it's going to be with a view of an ugly ocean (is this even possible?) Thanks!!!
  8. Nooo!!! Beatrice is gone? She was supposed to be the only "good" one Moon Palace had! Does anyone know who her replacement is or how responsive that person is? Also, am really sad the ocean isn't even decent enough to swim in! No one happens to know if the amount of seaweed varies by season, do they?
  9. Hey Brides, I've been looking through a lot of places and i've found the cheapest luggage tags at http://tags.idcardgroup.com/productdetails.aspx?item=1840-620 you have to buy the loops separatly, but it still comes down to being pretty cheap. Also, I'm going to use vistaprint.com for the business card inserts. I think it'd be easy to do by yourself at home, but we're using a picture of us for the front of the luggage tag that I think needs professional printing. We're going to use these as save the dates....any suggestions/experience with shipping options? According to USPS you can ship in a regular envelope for reg. stamp postage as long as the weight is under 3.3 ounces (I think one luggage tag weighs 1.7 ounces, so 3.2 for two) and is under 1/4 inch in height... I'm hoping regular mail will work if I don't attach the loops, but we'll have to see. Good luck!
  10. Hi Brides! I'm attempting to do the same thing that most of you seem to be doing for your save the dates (luggage tags from idgroup and then business card inserts from vistaprint). I'm worried about how to mail these though! I looked up USPS metrics, and you can mail something in a regular envelope/stamp if it's under 1/4 in and 3.3 ounces. I found a similar ID tag on Amazon (more expensive) and I think one tag is 1.6 ounces (=3.2ounces for two tags), so I'm hoping it will be under 1/4 in if i don't actually attach the straps. Any thought or actual experience with shipping these? Thanks!
  11. Hi! We're hoping to get married April 13, 2013 (still need to pay deposit). It's been our dream to get married on the beach, but I've been reading through the Tripadvisor.com reviews and a lot of people made negative comments about the beach. Primarily too much seaweed? And that the water wasn't pretty? That forum is hard to get real information because some people are overly picky and others are clueless, so has anyone done an actual site visit? I've been to other Palace Resorts (Beach Palace, Vallarta Palace and day trip to the one on Isla Mueras) but haven't seen the Moon Palace... Also, does anyone know if we HAVE to use the new Colin Cowie wedding packages? I was excited when I heard he was getting involved with the Palace Resorts, but I don't really like the new collections, and they seem to be a lot more money with a lot less perks... Thanks!
  12. We are getting married at the Moon Palace in April of 2013! I've done a lot of research about the Moon Palace so hopefully I can help a bit. First, let me start by saying we've stayed at the Beach Palace in Cancun and at the Vallarta Palace in Puerto Vallarta (actually got engaged there!) and we LOVE LOVE LOVE the Palace Resorts! However, based on the comments on here and from travel agents I've talked to, booking a wedding through them can be challenging until you actually arrive the week of your wedding. I would strongly recommend working with a travel agent to help you negotiate with the Moon Palace. I don't belive they have technically released pricing information for 2013, however the three different travel agents I've talked to got the Moon Palace to commit to 2012 pricing, which is good because historically there is always a price increase from year to year. I'm working with two travel agents right now to see who can get the best deal. Right now it's about $360/couple/night. I'm trying to get them to promise the 1500 resort credit promotion because it is AWESOME (one of the best perks of the Palace Resorts and I think a def. justification to guests for paying a bit more than some other all-inclusives) but is set to expire April of this year. Am also trying to negotiate "kids stay free" and airport transfers...I tend to be pretty aggressive with negotiating if you haven't noticed! Anyways, I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll tell you what I know. I'm pretty much on this website every day, but you can always private message me. Congrats!!!
  13. I stayed at the Beach Palace for a friend's wedding and the beach WAS beautiful BUT there was a very steep drop off to get to the ocean and once you were in it there was a VERY strong undertow... I was there Nov. 2010....
