Hello everyone, My name is Andrea and I am currently getting married at Dreams Punta Cana but I am seriously considering switching to NOW. I e-mailed Sylvia and they told me I can have a seated private reception by the pool for 60 people. For those who had there reception by the pool, how did it work for alcoholic beverages, is there a bar close ?? do they set up a bar ??? it does come with the eternity package right ( the beverages ) ?? Are they close to a kitchen, was the food cold when you guys started eating ?? If any of you have a recent price list since the one on there web site seems to be out dated, can you please send me a copy at [email protected], thanks

Hey Y'all !! My name in Andrea and I am getting married at Dreams punta cana in November but I'm seriously considering changing for Now Larimar. One of the reasons is that Dreams only do sit down diner for 50 people or less and I am at 56 people and still going up ( wasn't expectling so many people ) or else I have to take the buffet which is more expensive. In the Now Larimar pamphet it's written up too 100 guests sit down diner but I read on 2 or 3 pages back a bride mentioning she is more then 50 and starting to panic on having to take the buffet... So I am confused. Is there a new policy and they didn't change it in the pamphet ??

oh my my did i loose my motivation. I've been eating healthy for the last month and was doing insanity for the last 2 weeks. When it was time to start week 3 well, I just ran out of time so I also ended up loosing my motivation anddd started eating chocolate bars again !!! AARRRG !! I get so angry with myself !!! So time to get back on the wagon. I decided to start insanity all over again. So tomorrow will be day 1 for me. Just hope I will be able to stay on track. My wedding is only in November but I want to loose my 10-15 pounds before May, when i'll be buying my dress !!

Hey Melissa Olivier , we are getting married on the same day !! My wedding is at 4h30 at the gazebo and reception on the bordeaux terrace. Can't wait !! For the people who are getting married in 2013, lucky you if you got a price, I still don't have a price for November 2012 !!! keep telling me they are not out yet :S For the invitations, I did my own. I made boarding passes, veryyyy long to do but loved every moment of it and my guests loved the idea that it was hand made I took Aylee template model.

I've been on weight watchers for the last 3 weeks and I'm at week 2 of insanity and i started gaining weight. I know it's probably muscle but this sucks big time I guess i'll start loosing some in a couple of weeks....

oh my, I just did day 5 of insanity and Shawn T is just freakin crazy !!! I'm sure he is actually a machine and not humain !!!! But, love the program I do my best,I have lots of trouble doing the floor excercises so if I feel I cant't do it, I either run or do sit-ups. I am VERY weak in the arms so push-ups is such a challenge for me. I am hoping that I will better at them though. Keep on going girls and think deeper !!!!

Liss2626-I am scared as hell of flying even though I am a frequent flyer !! I just hate it !! I take sickness pills and pills to sleep and all is well I decided to get what the grooms will wear at old Navy to save on money. I heard good stuff about the shorts and linen shirt. JennNicholls- Welcome I think kids stay for free under the age of 12, but I think it is written on the website ( 2 kids per family I think, so the 3rd you pay unless you get them registered with someone else if it's doable) For the pictures, I'm lucky, my cousin is a professional photographer so we made a deal, I pay her vacation ( more or less $1250 ) and she takes pictures of us getting ready, ceremony, reception and a session of TTD !! She will give me all the pictures retouched on a DVD. I decided to bring my ipod for the ceremony to lower the costs !!!

thanks guys I usually control my sweet intake by not keeping any at home and it works pretty well for me. But with christmas and all .. oufff I ate ALOT of sweets !! I had bought stuff to make deserts over christmas and I got rid of what was left today so I won't be tempted. I am lucky that my fiancé is not a sweet lover so he doesn't mind not having it around. Tomorrow I will start some of my excerises DVD's until my insanity comes in the mail. Can't wait I will be taking my before pictures also this week-end, I really want that free T-shirt and have proof of the changes

We are gonna get legally married here first and have a civil ceremony at Dreams. I was thinking of getting married on the beach at sun set by our city mayor ( I live in a small town with lots of beautiful secluded beaches ) and only have our best man and girl as witnesses. We do not want the other guests to know, we prefer that they think they are attending our '' real '' wedding. We will not be exchanging rings though, we are keeping that for the Dreams wedding. I am trying to convince my fiancé on writting our vows but he's not sure. He is not the type romantic, he has trouble expressing his feelings with words The groom's men will be wearing khaki shorts with a white shirt but my guy will probably be wearing a tan suit with closed shoes.

ohhh I am SOO happy there is an Insanity thread !! My friend started doing it during her lunch hours at work with co-workers. She lost 10 lbs in a month so i decided to look it up and I finally bought the DVDs (still waiting for them). I thought it would be a great way to get in shape before my wedding and I would like to loose 15lbs. My wedding is in 10 months but I would like to get to my goal before May when I will be buying my dress. My fiancé is also looking foward to doing it. I am happy that i will be able to share my experience here and find some support I am having trouble with food though, I am a sugar freak and I have trouble controling my portions. I am lucky that I am not over weight but If I continue eating like I do, I will be. I am also someone that is quite active, but lost my motivation a couple of months ago. I don't feel like going to the gym no more, i find it gets boring so hopefully doing this at home will give me a boost. Looking foward on sharing my experience with all of you.

Hello everyone and congrats !! Well I'm getting married the 08 of November 2012 at Dreams Punta Cana. I'm soo excited !! I've sent out boarding passes as save the date / invitations. I was not able to get a group rate yet but i decided to send the invitations anyway so everyone knows it's a destination wedding. I wrote on in approximately how much it will cost. I've also created a web site. I think we will have a least 40 guests !!

Thank you Liss2626 for the pictures. My wedding date is the 3 of November 2012 and I can't wait !!! I still can't believe I am getting married I chose the portofino for my reception and if I'm right, i think you can have up too 40 guests on that terrace. But I am starting to think that I might have more then 40 guests. I know there is an other wedding going on the same date as I so if I do have more then 40, I hope I will be able to choose another spot for the reeption but they might be taken :S

Hi Darcia, I think I will have about 35 guests. My invitations are not sent yet, still waiting for those famous prices from my travel agency but the wedding is confirmed for the 8-11-2012. I should be getting the prices next week. I booked the bordeaux just in case since it looks like a wonderful spot, if ever I have more guests which I will have a better idea in March i guess, I presume I can change the spot. Ska2m, thank you for your review, It makes me more confident that all will go well and not to stress it. Janine2918, hummm I'm not to sure what to tell you, I booked the terrace bordeaux for the 8th of Nov. 2012 with no problems. Can you ask her for more explanation on why you can not have a terrace and tell her it is in the wedding guide descriptions so you should be able to choose your reception on a terrace. Let us know how it goes. Maybe all the terraces are taken that day ??

Heyy all !!! After spending at least 4h per day reading these threads, comparing hotels, debating, looking out for prices...we finally chose Dreams to host our wedding. Carolina has already confirmed our date which is the 08 of November 2012. We are very happy. I've been reading posts on this forum for the last couple of days to get as much information as possible but I don't think I will be able to read them alllll, there are so much posts !!! Did you guys reserve where your reception is is to be held right away ??? I would love to have it at the bordeaux terrace Looking foward to discussing with you all, good planing to everyone Andrea

Hello !! I was wondering, when you book the Dreams wedding package and you have more then 5 rooms booked, do they subtract the price of the complimentary package from the price ??? And If I do not want the photographer in the dreams package since I have my own, do they subtract it from the price ?? thanx ladies

WoW thanks to all of you on sharing !! Now I know to expect the unexpected. This thread makes me feel more ready to face all the challenges that will be thrown on us !!

I am also very nervous about the open bathrooms, not all of my guests are couples. But I heard that you can ask the front desk and they can put some sort of curtains !?! I also saw on trip advisor that some bathrooms have this glass wall with flowers painted on it so you can't see through.
