  1. Good luck and I hope everything goes well! Can't wait for the review when you get back
  2. Hey I just got them at this place called "House of Silk" down the street from my house. Where do you live? I am sure you could find a silk shop in your city too.
  3. Hey ladies! Sorry I have been MIA since I started this post a little while ago! I bought my dress back in January right after we got engaged, just waiting for it to arrive at the bridal store! I bought my bridesmaids dresses on Victoria Secret.com and they are lovely! Sent out my invitations a few months ago. Half the guests have booked. Hopefully more book soon becuase our deal price ends September 30th! I also bought silk flowers for myself, bridesmaids and groomsmen! It ended up saving us a ton of money. Less than 7 months!!!
  4. Congrats Sunsetselene and Allie2012! I am booked for March 14th, 2012 It's been super hard waiting!!!
  5. Laurelyn - I am March 14th, 2012 too!

  7. AsiaJane, that meal sounds awesome! One more question - where did you have your receiption? How did they set up the tables for you? Will you be putting more pictures up once you receive them? Thanks!

  11. Hey, any Winnipeggers still using this site? We just booked our wedding for March, 2012 at Dreams Puerto Aventuras.
  12. Oh I really like the wishing well idea. I wish I would have known that before my mom's friend made the invitations. "Presentation" just means money, bascially. I see it alot on wedding invitations.
  13. I am also a March, 2012 bride and would like to lose 5 - 10 pounds, and basically just tone my problem areas (love handles, stomach, legs). I was going to join on line as well, they seem to have a special on right now. My problem is eating! I am constantly snacking on candy (as we speak!) and its really what's holding me back. I don't mind exercising, I am running a half marathon this weekend, but I just need the motivation from you girls to help me stay on track! Do you think it's worth it for me to sign up on line, even though I don't want to lose a large amount of weight?
  14. Hello all, is anyone getting married in March, 2012? I am at Dreams Puerto Aventuras!
  15. Hi there! My mom's best friend is throwing me a bridal shower and wanted a list of people to invite. We are having a very small DW (parents, siblings, wedding party and that's all). Should I invited my extended family and other friends who I am not inviting to my wedding, to the shower? I need a single present, as my Fiance and I have lived together for almost two years, so the host was going to put presentation on my wedding shower invite, as we are saving for a new TV for our basement. I don't want people to feel like they have to buy me anything, especially if they are already coming to my wedding, and paying so much money. I don't want to seem like a tacky bride, but I really do not need any gifts. Thoughts?
  16. We are in the same boat. Have lived together for almost two years, and don't have room for a single present! I was just at the wedding shower (not a destination wedding) and they put "Presentation" on the invitation, as they were saving for a bedroom suite. I didn't mind giving money, saves me from having to go to the store. The lady who is hosting my shower is going to put presentation, as we are saving for a TV for our basement, which is the truth. I am not asking my bridesmaids to donate, as they are already paying for the wedding. I honestly didn't even care if I had a shower, but its a nice way to get together with everyone who can't afford the DW.
  17. Love the spa idea! I think they will just appreciate the fact that you are getting something for them, even though they are not in your wedding. You could do it at the resort, or when you get home!
  18. I agree with all the comments, it's not unreasonable for you to need to know who is coming. I think a lot of people say they will come, but when it comes down to it, can't afford it. It sounds like you gave them a lot of time to save the money, so I don't understand why they are being sketchy about it. We gave our wedding party 15 months to save the wedding, and tried to pick a reasonably priced resort to try to keep everyone happy. Even after I ordered the bridesmaids dresses I had two bridesmaids back out, over text message. It's pretty sad that our own friends can't talk face to face about it, and just be honest. I would give everyone another month to let you know. I know you want 3 and 3, as do I, but it may not work out that way so try not to set your heart on it. All that matters is that your Fiance is there by your side!
  19. I agree with most comments. I already feel terrible asking my friends to come and pay all of the money for our Mexico wedding (I have already had two bridesmaids drop out... even though I gave them 15 months to save the money). Anyways! I would say that one of your family members would be hosting the shower, and your friends shouldn't have to get you anything, maybe a small gift as a group? I am telling my wedding party that they do not have to pay for any presents / shower / party or presentation because it's important that everyone feel comfortable!
  20. I agree with all of the others - your guests will have no problem finding something to do, I am sure most will go for lunch, maybe a nap and freshen up, then have some drinks and get ready for your reception! That's who it works if it wasn't a Destination Wedding, plus, it's an all inclusive, so there will be tons to do! Good luck and don't worry!
  21. I chose Lincoln with Moments that Matter Photography and I think it was an awesome choice! They have very decent prices for the amount of time they spend at your wedding, and their work is amazing! Also - great communication. I never have to wait more than a few hours to hear back from Lincoln. Good luck and happy planning
  22. Awesome review! Did you have a reception? I couldn't see it in the review or in the pictures. Do you have any suggestions for all of us Dreams PA brides?
