UGH Well i have 2 BM's and my sister was my Maid of honor. I also have my best friend whom is male and he was supposed to be the man of honor but we were torn about how to have it all blend in. My sister is in her 40's and she recently found out she is 12 weeks pregnant. Because of her age and some fibroids they discovered she is VERY high risk not to mention she will be past 30 weeks by our travel date so the doctor has recommended she does not travel. Its not her fault but it doesnt make it suck any less I can still have my man of honor but i have to decide how to blend it all in and i dont have much time to outfit him etc. regardless my one and only sister will now not be my maid of honor or be at my wedding so its a bummer. Although i am thrilled to be an aunt for the first time have to look at the bright side

so I dont have a maid of honor anymore! my wedding is in 4.5 months! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

you ladies are lucky...i havent found my date twin or resort twin that will be there the same time as me. would be so cool. I have met an amazing girl on this site that i have kept in close touch with she is getting married at the same resort as me but arriving just as we leave Boooo. you ladies should all meet up for sure @tamandrob you are most welcome. I will def post pics of the flowers when i get some and will keep sharing ideas. The guys are thrilled about wearing shorts for sure! I think it will look good but everyone has their own taste Im not sure where Leigh is but i do know with planning a move and taking care of her kids she has her hands full. i know the move part alone is a lot to deal with, i myself am moving in 4 weeks....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh 4 weeks. i need to get crackin on my packing

I always had that dilema...to this day we still never got back all our RSVP's and had a lot of maybe answers from ppl. Its very frustrating. I decided in my planning i would add 4 extra for the stragglers and last minute deciders. if we get more then 2 last minute couples well it will just be unfortunate for them....with everything i will have going on the weeks leading to the wedding i wont have time to run around and make more OOT bags and pick up more favors. it sucks but i can only do so much I was trying to personalize my OOT and decided against it for that reason to so the bags and welcome brochures will be generic. Safer that way glad you are on track....its a lot of planning for sure

I loved it in Moose Creek although North Gower would have been closer for me since i live in Kanata...wish i would have known about that shop sooner LOL although who's to say they would have a dress I love i did pretty much every other shop in and around Ottawa. FI and I just completed his whole outfit at Le Chateau...they have really nice linen pants and they were the only place that actually had our exact colors for shirt and ties. every where else was more along the lines of baby blue and i really wanted the blue to be right. And it helped that the old navy in the mall had flip flops on sale for $1.00 yup you read that right one dollar LOL I took a quick pic....not the best pic but will give you an idea anyway Fi will wear that with white flip flops he looks great in it, i just need to have the pants hemmed a bit and we will be all set. The pants, shirt, tie, and shoes came to under $200.00 Our groomsmen are wearing these.... . Except they are wearing white shirts and white flip flops ....we bought the shorts from Sears on sale for $39.00 and flip flops from old navy at the dollar sale and we just need to buy the shirts I'm not making my own bouquets. I actually hired a company called angels accents (she is FANTASTIC) and she will be designing and making all of my flowers. I decided to go the "soft touch" route. The flowers look so real and i get to keep them. The resort wanted a fortune for the flowers so i researched other options and decided to go this way. I dont have pics or anything yet as i havent recieved my design yet. I will keep you posted when i do. Angel will be doing my bouquet, MOH bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets x 2, groom and groomsmen bouts, best man is actually fi's sister so we are getting her a wrist corsage, moms wrist corsage, MIL wrist corsage, and bouts for both dads, she is also doing cake table decoration, sending me extra petals for the aisle She has it all nicely packed so they wont get damaged through travel, and send paperwork to state they are fake so there are no issues at the airport I dont even know if i want bouts for the groomsmen yet so i will have FI try it when they arrive and will decide Quote: Originally Posted by tamandrob The shop in North Gower is called All that glitters its a mother/daughter run store and they are excellent! That is super exciting! I didnt even know they had a bridal shop in North Gower. I got my dress in Moose Creek and the girl who helped me was fantastic and very patient Do you want your girls to all wear the same style? That can be challenging shopping in some places in Ottawa. If you just go with a color but different style dresses you will likely have no issues. Le Chateau always has great dresses. I actually got FI's whole attire there for the wedding minus the shoes. I bought a bunch of flowers at Michaels (soft touch, they look so real) for my centrepieces but still havent decided if i want to use them LOL i'm so indecisive with my decoration, its the only thing that is taking me forever! FI and I are tossing the idea around with the AHR but i dont know if i want to spend the extra money. It all adds up so quick. We may just have a few get togethers, back yard BBQ style or something to celebrate with those who couldnt come down south and show them pics and stuff. Still TBD

I will for sure. I got the call that my wedding party dresses all came in but they are holding them there for me. My dress isnt scheduled in until September I look at the pic of it online with the model wearing it. I love it so much and cant wait to wear it

LOTS lol you need shoes and accessories for your dress you need to decide or have inspiration for your hair and make up (print some pics and bring them with you) Are you doing OOT bags? Have you picked all your decor? will you do a pre travel brochure for your guest will you do a welcome brochure for your guests I can go on for days! LOL

i'm with you! But i know if i go try more dresses on I am doomed LOL however wedding dress shopping is just TOO much fun! i am happy with my choice and adore my dress but i always wonder in the back of my head if i missed out on anything else cause i stopped looking LOL

Congrats! WOW thats a huge group going. how are you going to get all your stuff to the resort? thats fantastic that your WC is providing the mugs how did you swing that lucky deal? LOL Jamaica is beautiful and you are going at a fantastic time of year. 2 years ago i was in Jamaica at the Riu Ocho Rios Jan 16th for a week and it was incredible

OMG i feel your pain. My wedding is in October. I have a million things to do, my car lease is up, moving in July and wedding planning AHHHHHHH the wedding planning is fun but a lot of little details i dont want to miss. thats what we are all here for, ideas, help and support so dont forget us when you need to yell, cry, laugh, share, and need help and ideas You are most welcome! I'm so happy you got them done and they look awesome. LOL! or we can have a multi person PM going That will be nice. It will all come together you may want to google images of those color combinations to get ideas

YAY you finally posted! they look amazing! :) So happy for you that your mini nightmare is over and they are done...it was worth all the trouble hun! I didnt factor postage in either when i did mine and all the flowers and envelope liners and little details ended up costing us $1.21 each but it was worth it. I saved a ton doing the invites myself so i ended up spending more on postage LOL ahhh well! the color combination looks fantastic together as well. Have you decided how you are incorporating all these colors in the wedding yet?

WOW i cant beleive my eyes thats very unfortuante that these places are charging money to try dresses on and being secretive. This is supposed to be a memorable experience in your planning process and without pictures to reflect back on how are you supposed to compare for one of the most important purchases for your wedding day. I would run far far away from these places! Thats horrible customer service. Heck if i walked into Aldo and they told me i had to spend 20 bucks to try shoes on I would laugh and walk out. I understand its competitive but thats the nature of the beast and if dishonesty or secrecy is the only way for these people to get business then they should be ashamed of themeselves. Okay well enough of my rant! you all look fabulous in your dresses and I wish the rest of you that havent found "the one" yet best of luck on your hunt. It took me about 7 stores and 60 dresses so dont be discouraged YOU WILL find it!
