  1. We went with the Sand Extravaganza. We are doing our music by iPod so don't need a DJ. I did my own bouquet & BM bouquets, but never thought to ask about putting that money elsewhere. I feel like I saw in the info packages that you couldn't but I'll have to recheck. And sorry can't help you with the photographer either as we are using an outside vendor! Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck!!
  2. Is there anything I can try to help you with? I get fairly quick answers and most of the questions I ask have been answered.
  3. My MOH's dress wasn't weighed. And it wasn't counted as carry on because the airline just allowed her to take it on board.
  4. I'm a registered nurse! Labor, delivery and post-partum.
  5. They look great! (Maybe I'm biased because they look like mine and I love mine, too!! lol) I really like the envelopes.
  6. Brenners: Our colours are like a pool blue and white. The flowers look really nice against the dresses. Val: I just grabbed whatever I liked that didn't look super fake. The two-toned pink and the pink & yellow large roses feel like the real touch ones but didn't say on the label.
  7. Trust me when I say that it's going to go by SO FAST! You won't even realize how fast until you are running out of time! I'm at 40 days (give or take) and I've been counting down since the 290 mark!!! It's so crazy how fast time went and I'm so excited! Congrats and happy planning!
  8. My fiance and I registered at two places (same company, two separate stores). We really didn't want too - mostly the reason that the people coming were spending more than enough just to be there. But we just bought our first home, many family and friends are unable to attend the wedding and our families prefer to have a list to go off when it comes to gifts. We've had two showers thrown for us (surpirses!) and people have used the list for housewarming gifts and Christmas gifts. Like others have said, make sure you have a variety of price points.
  9. My MOH got married at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana last May. While it was busy, it wasn't too bad. We didn't have to wait for restaurants, always found a good spot at the pool or beach. I heard that from Spring Break - Easter is fairly busy.
  10. The $100 license is in Whitby. Here's the link: http://www.whitby.ca/index.php?page=57#b I looked up the Peterborough one for you and it's $125. Doubt the $25 difference is worth the drive! http://www.peterborough.ca/Living/City_Services/City_Clerk/Births_Deaths_Marriages_Name_Change.htm I looked up a bunch of officiants also but the cheapest one was $300 so we'll just get it done at City Hall. Good luck with everything!
  11. Yes. We are doing the civil ceremony at the municipal building in our region. We live in Durham/Clarington so we will be doing it in Bowmanville (don't know if you even know Bowmanville!! LOL). I looked around and we're going to get our marriage license some place else because it's cheaper. I've seen it range from $100-$150 so we went with somewhere that is $100. Did the same thing for price scoping and found Bowmanville to be cheapest. We get the ceremony in the council room or whatever it's called, J.O.P. and the certificate for $250. The civil ceremony doesn't really matter or mean much to us. It's not like we will count that day as our wedding anniversary! We won't even exchange rings!
  12. I wanted to do the wishing lamps but I don't think I'll have any room in the budget or luggage for them! MsClarke... do you mind sending me your playlist, too? I need to bulk mine up! Thanks. [email protected]
  13. You did an AMAZING job!!!!! I hope it's okay but I am totally stealing your postcard/memory idea!!!
  14. Inspiration pics: My finished DIY products: (MY BOUQUET) (MOH AND BRIDESMAID BOUQUETS). I got everything from Michaels (using coupons, of course!) and did everything in one night! I'm very proud of them!
  15. Post your bouquet and inspiration pics here
  16. I can't believe our day is only 41 days away! It's so crazy how fast time flies. I feel like I have so much left to do but there isn't really anything besides FI and his groomsmen getting their outfits and finalizing our legal ceremony here. I'm getting nervous!!! Congrats to everyone else! We're almost there!!!
  17. We're getting married in 41 days!!! I can't believe how fast time has gone. We are getting SO excited and can't wait to become Mr. & Mrs.! These were taken by a friend of my future sister-in-law.
