    I talked to a customs official from Jamaica, and she informed me that I couldn't bring real ones there, either. I found very real-looking fake starfish from the Christmas Tree Shoppe. And they were CHEAP! I think I'm going to leave the "Made in China" tags on them until I get them through customs so that I don't have any problems.

    My resort has a rule against bringing/using fake petals. You aren't allowed to use them as an aisle runner or even put them on one. I think the real ones were ok to bring, though.

    I love peonies, too, and had my heart set on them...until I quote from the florist in Jamaica. I don't know how difficult they would be to get in the Dominican, but they were going to cost me $255 for my bouquet and $155 for my bridesmaids' bouquets. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for something that would die.

    We're not paying for any of the travel costs, either, but we are buying all of our attendants nice gifts.

    For now, we plan on spending the night before together. I'd like to wake up next to him that morning, exchange presents in front of each other, then grab breakfast before starting the craziness of the day. I'm really looking forward to that alone time that we'll have that morning.

    We've trying to keep drinks simple at our AHR. We're having beer and wine and we're renting a margarita and pina colada drink machine.     I was a little nervous about the width, because I had heard BM runs narrow. But they're a perfect fit, and they're more comfortable than I was expecting. I really wanted a wedge since I need some height and we're getting married on sand. I love them!

    My shoes just arrived! I ordered them in cream, and they match perfectly with my champagne-colored dress. I can't wait to wear them!

    I definitely don't think you HAVE to get your parents anything, and I have a lot of friends who haven't. I don't think many parents expect to get anything, but I think it would be a very thoughtful gesture to do something special for them. Even if they aren't contributing anything to the cost of the wedding, like my parents, they have still done more for me than I could ever repay them throughout the years.

    We're having a starfish theme, too, and I love the idea of the starfish necklaces. Thanks! I was also thinking about arranging a couples massage for my mom and dad the day before the wedding. I actually seem to have no problem thinking of things to get my parents, but I have no idea what to get his mom. Anyone have suggestions for what to get the future mother in law?

    Hello! Does anyone know what time the bars on the resort are open? Or can anyone direct me to the right place to find out? I used to have a map and a list of when each restaurant and bar were open, but I sadly lost it.
