  1. We always do special xmas day for just the 2 of us where we open our presents to each other and try to do a really fun Xmas date, then Xmas Eve w/ his side of the family and Xmas Day w/ mine! It just a tradition we started from our 1st year of dating and want to keep going!
  2. Rory and I decided to celebrate our Christmas together early this year. We woke up and Rory made me a wonderful breakfast, I should've known something was up from the start because he NEVER does the cooking! We opened all of our presents to each other and Rory told me I had one last surprise present and that I needed to pack an overnight bag for it. We started driving and he had me open my last present and it was reservations to The Salish Lodge and Spa at Snoqualmie Falls (Washington). Rory had never been there before so we spent the day exploring the grounds and taking in the gorgeous view. Later in the day he had made us spa appointments to have massages, once again should've known something was up but I was absolutely clueless. It was then time for dinner and on our way walking to dinner he said "hey lets go in here for a second, I heard it has a great view" we walked in a room covered in rose petals and a bottle of champagne in the corner, he then took me out on a balcony overlooking the falls and got down on one knee and I started crying and saying yes before he even finished talking! We then had champagne and headed to dinner. Everyone in the restaurant knew we had just gotten engaged and congratulated us as we walked in, I felt like it was a scene in a movie…it was so romantic and very Jocelyn if you know what I mean! Yippee, I can’t wait to be Mrs. Hawkins!
  3. One of the things I'm doing is paper fans that will be placed on the seats of my wedding guests in orange/fuchsia since it will be hot and I'm from Seattle and my guest aren't really used to that as they say...People from Seattle don't tan, they rust!... Â I'm also thinking of ordering customized ribbon w/ Rory and I's name on it to tie at the bottom. The WC is going to place them on the seats for the ceremony in alternating colors.
  4. Wonderful review!!! I"m getting married at The Palace in November and I visited Feb 09, but I have to agree about the Mexican restaurant. It was my fiance and I's least favorite place.
  5. The wedding group that had them when we were there before was known as "THE Wedding" with everyone at the pool/bars...it made it really fun to be like ohhh your w/ THE wedding plus they were a super fun cool group! Just a fun kinda way to make all your guest stand out for the week!
  6. Love your review! Getting married there 11/9/10 on the beach as well! I love the orange fabric woven through the arbor on the beach, did you bring that or did they provide it?
  7. Wait my brain I think is "wedding fried"!! I'm getting married in November not October!
  8. Hey we're getting married on the same day, but I'm at The Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas! Love the bags go...totally inpired me to add some goodies to my OOT.
  9. Does anyone know if and iphone will work w/ their equipment or does it have to be an ipod?
  10. Here's mine! Getting married at The Riu Palace in Cabo on the beach November 9th, 2010. Â http://www.topbridaldress.com/product.php?productid=3721&cat=38&page=8
  11. Hey girls I'm new on this site but I'm getting married Nov. 9th, 2010 at the Palace on the beach at 5:30, free cocktail hour at the lobby bar, dinner at the Steakhouse and then renting Pacha out till 11 when it opens with 45 guest booked! I'm so excited it's only 5 weeks away!!!! I've been to the Riu Palace before w/ my fiance and while we were there we said if we ever get married we're getting married here!! It was amazing!  So one thing that we're doing for our guests as kinda an OOT present is ordering 16oz stadium cups that we personalized w/ our colors, a palm tree, names and date (they have seashells, flip flops...). All Riu veterans bring their own cups b/c they serve drinks in small little juice cups. When we were there before a wedding party had them and it was so cute, plus everyone at the pool/bars all new you were party of the wedding! We're going to stuff ours w/ our welcome letter and crystal light/ propel singles packets! 100 cups-$90 50 cups-$72 http://myweddingreceptionideas.com/16_oz_personalized_stadium_cups.asp  Let me know if anyone has any ideas/tips!!!!
  12. Hey girls I'm new on this site but 1 fabulous thing my fiance and I are doing is buying plactic 16 oz stadium cups for our guests. They're SO CUTE, green cups w/ a white palm tree on them and my fiance and I's names and the date. We saw wedding party's do this when we visited 1 1/2 years ago and it was really neat to be able to tell who was with "THE Wedding"!  Our wedding is on November 11th 2010 at The Riu Palace but we have been there before and all the repeat visitors bring thier own cups. The ones they provide at the pool/bars...are 10-12oz plastic juice cups that they uses at dorms and stuff. If you bring your own cups you don't have to go back to the bar as often!  We are also using them as welcome presents and stuffing them w/ a welcome letter and tons of crystal light/propel singles packets! They have soda and water in the room but trust me the variety will come in handy for your guests! http://myweddingreceptionideas.com/16_oz_personalized_stadium_cups.asp  Super Cheap!! 50 cups-$72 100 cups-$90
