  1. wesjor17- ha ha thats cuz its probably myyy wedding i don't think i'm doing a poolside reception. don't have the budget for it cuz i;m doing an at home reception (big one). I was actually just deciding on bringing decorations or not. My colors are hot pink and black... mostly hot pink for my mexico wedding i want to bring hot pink fabric to decorate the hammocks which btw is that where your getting married?? my girls dresses came in earlier this month and their hot pink they look sooo awesome! are you getting excited? 7 more months(ish)!! sorry it took me so long to respond!
  2. AshleyRose26: Im getting married Nov 2, 2011! I'll be down there when you get married Which location are you getting married at?
  3. Ladies!!!! I'm not sure if this was covered (because 390 pages is ALOT to look through ) but I just thought of something... I just booked mine and my fiance's flight because we had to book that seperatly as were staying 10 nights and transat holidays doesn't do 10 day flights, i already put a deposit down through my travel agent for land only price for the GBP Akumal 10 night stay. So I went ahead and booked my flight through Continental Airlines online because the rates online were waaaayyy cheaper than a travel agent for some reason. Flight operator is United Airlines... I totally forgot to think about the bus ride to the resort!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read some of you got the bus ride included in your flight package?? Those of you who didn't, how much did it cost to take the bus to the resort?!?! Do you need to book a bus in advance or can you pay for one when you get to Cancun airport? I don't leave til Oct 27th this year but I'm really curious as to what I need to do
  4. dfranklin: oooh yay!! im sure your weather will be perfect! Were getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal!! i wanna get married at the hammocks, i think its gorgeous. i'm not sure who my coordinator is yet, my travel agent is also a destination wedding planner so i paid her planning fee so that she can take care of all my details like paperwork, legal documentation, spa bookings for mine and my girls hair and the reception etc etc. so she emails directly to the resort for me way less stressful lol. I haven't quite decided on reception yet. probably just gonna have dinner thats included in the package becuz were having a 160 person reception back home the week after which is costing us a lot ha ha. But it def. is a legal ceremony! I'm also bringing down my own photographer. she is amaaazzing, she did our engagement photos, were just paying for her trip to mexico and she is doing 400 photos for us! she's there as a guest so were just not gonna tell the resort she is a photographer, just a friend taking pictures! lol Hows your planning going? what do you have set up/booked already???
  5. heeyyyyy!! November brides wooo! There are so many 11-11-11 brides ha ha I am getting married on Nov 2! I am so stoked and just can't wait!!!!! We are also having a reception back home for about 160 people on Nov 12th! lets just hope the weather stays warm and sunny the whole time i'm in Mexico :)

  9. Hey Ladies! Â I am super new to this forum, seems very helpful and so much information. Almost too much to go through I'm getting married November 2011!!! Â I haven't booked yet but I plan to book my wedding at the Gran Bahia Akumal or Coba. Depends on the airline I go with. Seems to be the best deal for myself and my guests and it looks beautiful and have heard great reviews about it. Please can anyone who has had their wedding there please help answer my questions?? I am doing the legal ceremony as well. Â First, I definately want the ceremony on the beach! So my question about the beach ceremony isssss, how long of a walk down the aisle is it? i want a good amount of walking time he he. I also am having music from a CD to play for the music walking down the aisle. Can you hear the music from where you are to head down the aisle? Â Next... how long is the legal ceremony? and is the videogapher good?? Â Photgrapher... I know most resorts don't allow this or just "frown upon it" but I have an awesome photographer here at home that really wants to come and shoot my wedding in Mexico. Has anyone else brought their own photographer? Any info on that? Â Any info helps a great deal since i'm a little in the dark about this stuff!! Â Also if anyone has pictures or their own stories to share, please do!! Â Thanks!!!! Â
