  1. That really sucks it would be so much!! I guess I got lucky with my 2 photographers. My first one agreed to do it just for the cost of her trip but once she got pregnant I had to find someone new! I finally found someone 3 months before, Vina, she did it for the cost of the trip and fees and taxes etc so I paid $1650 for her and she took 1200 photos in total (not sure how many I will get out of that) but she said I would get AT LEAST 400 edited photos all on disc. She did all the work herself, she paid for her hubby and he took a few photos ha ha hes not professional though but knows the basics lol But arrecife is good!!! Very expensive though. What you might be able to do is see if ontop of the 180 edited photos if they will also give you all the raw images as well and maybe you can find someone to edit ones that you like that way if you want more you can.
  2. Thank you!! I thought it was weird too but oh well, I wouldn't have noticed anyway lol
  3. Yup I do have a photo... or at least a friend does I'm sure! And i brought 15 meters.. or yards.. whichever was longer ha ha
  4. Trish, depending on the package you get the flowers on the table are NOT included. I got the sunshine package and there were absolutly no flowers included except my bouquet and hubbys bout.
  5. stylishmeNC- The songs, I had 4 songs on a CD, and I got married at the hammock location... I told the WC in our meeting that the 1st song was for Richard & my mom, and all 4 couples (bridesmaids and groomsmen together) to walk down to. the 2nd song was for me and my dad to walk down to, the 3rd song was for the signing and 4th song was for the recessional. She wrote it all down. I had the full length songs on there and they fade it out as soon as everyone is finished walking and its time for the bride then they fade out that song once the bride is at the alter. Now, as for my 3rd song... I had a LEGAL ceremony so the signing took a bit longer than a symbolic one. The symbolic ceremony i think you only sign a couple papers but with my ceremony my 4 witnesses signed 4 papers EACH then my hubby and I signed 5 each AND finger printed 2 of them. SOOO my song for it wasnt long enough lol the song ended and there was a good minute or so of no music while we finished up the signing and stuff. Then right before we kissed as she was announcing us "husband and wife" they started my 4th song which was perfect and they played it through as we all walked back down and had our toast. The flower arrangements hanging on the structure is NOT included in your package but the WC told me it was about $35 USD for each arrangement if i wanted... I did not want it, I just had my fabric Hope that helped ya a bit.
  6. Our building was Villa 67, perfect view of the ocean and beach! And we had flat screen TV in ours, I noticed some of the other buildings had the tube tv's. We were in the royal golden section in the Akumal it was about $40 extra per person and our perks were; a whole separate check in that has a bar in it and they give you a welcome drink. The "golden lobby" as its called is right close to the beach, there is also a private sort of beach right near our villas, its for everyone but its much quieter than the other beaches you can see it from my room (all the pics are in a link in the review... the link to my review is in my signature), you also get 4 al a cartes rather than 3... I'd say it was definitly worth the extra $40 for us at least
  7. AD2012- I did a rehearsal dinner at the main buffet in Akumal. WC Booked it for 6pm so we had half hour of privacy as it didn't open to the public until 630, no extra cost and it was great! We only did it so that we could do toasts and have everyone together before the big day and talk last minute details and what time to meet etc.
  8. Just wanted to let u guys know that I should be getting my wedding photos back Feb 4th!! So I will add them on here and to my review once I get them uploaded :)
  9. You don't need anything translated. We brought our birth certificates but we didn't need them. We photocopied our ID front and back and emailed it to Eugenia along with our witnesses couple months before the wedding. But other than that she just needed our passport and tourist cards.
  10. Air transat didnt release their flight times until 30 days before my group was to depart. And 2 months before departure the flights got bumped by 2 days so instead of them leaving on the friday, they ended up leaving on the sunday, which sucked for hubby and i cuz we didn't get our 3 day honeymoon like planned, we got a 1 day one So, just a warning, air transat can change their flights at any time
  11. Yea it threw us all off lol Cause I was under the impression it'd be in Spanish and translated into English but right when the ceremony started the judge began speaking english and one of my bridesmaids was joking around saying "man, i thought my spanish was just really good" ha ha. Yes, Richard and I both did blood work, had the bruise for a week to prove it lol and we signed 5 sheets and finger printed it.
  12. This is not entirely true.. My ceremony was legal and it was in English. I thought it was going to be in spanish but it wasn't! The onlt difference i'm aware of is there is less papers to sign at the ceremony and no finger prints (or bloodwork)
  13. AD2012- Not sure if your question has been answered BUTTTT, Some airlines don't book with Akumal, for example westjet and alaskan airlines don't book for akumal... Continental, United and transat i know DO book Akumal. Not sure why this is but that is what my TA told me. Also, if you have guests staying at Tulum or Coba, they are allowed to dine with you for your wedding for sure that's not a problem. I had guests staying everywhere at that resort and we ate dinner with them all the time
  14. annnd that is exactly why i went with hand held fans for my bridesmaids ha ha. simple and super cheap! and it fit the beach wedding scene
  15. andrea2006- not sure if someone answered but i had a trial for my hair (they didn't charge me) it was a quick quick 20min run through of my hair because i was nervous about it. I honestly don't think I needed one but it gave me a peace of mind knowing it would turn out great. they did an awesome job, and if you do the trial and they don't do something quite how you pictured, then at least you can tell them the day of "make sure you do this" Congrats to all you that got married recently!!! I haven't been on much but sounds/looks like your day went perfect just as mine did!!! Again, I still haven't got my professional wedding photos back from our photographer yet but I will post them as SOON as I get them :) Any questions just visit my review or email me at [email protected] http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/gran-bahia-principe-akumal-all-inclusive/reviews/5284
  16. Hey ladies, For those of you using Arrecife for photos, I have uploaded the ones I chose from them to facebook, its the first 15 photos of the album... don't mind the rest of the photos, just my bros birthday https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150411292921050.351169.513216049&type=1&l=a65c4c9925 Hope it gives you some sort of idea of how their style is!
  17. I had calla lillies... no extra cost BUT they only have white callas. I thought my bouquet was perfect, long stemmed calla lillies and she added pink ribbon to it for me too StylishmeNC- We did royal golden and they told us they make sure they give the beach villas to brides and grooms.. you can check out the view i had in my pictures https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150366958521050.346820.513216049&type=1&l=05ab141ff0
  18. I took a CD... We didn't need any songs for the guests while they were waiting because they all met at the snack bar then the WC took them to the site 5 min before it started. We had Soul sista by train for my wedding party to walk down to, Im yours by jason mraz for me to walk down to, Marry you by bruno mars for signing (we did legal so there was a lot of singing, if this is what your doing then have 2 songs for signing) then Good life by OneRepublic as our recessional. it worked out awesome, and it goes sooo well with our video!
  19. AD2012- Don't panic! I went through the same thing. my photographer got pregnant in april and was gonna be almost 6 months along by our wedding so she decided to cancel just in case she couldn't do her best work... money lost for sure but i just searched any and every photographer that i liked! Make sure you LOVE your photographers photos and style, do NOT settle, I didn't and we found a photographer about a month after the first one cancelled so don't worry you have time!!
  20. love your photos!! we actually saw your pool side reception!! looked like a lot of fun, we were gonna crash it ha ha
  21. This was taken by my friend... can see it a bit better,,, There is fake calla lillies on either side of the signing table too that we got included (they usually are placed where the toasting area is) you can see them in my teasers. Hope that helps
  22. Here is a link to my wedding photo teasers.. you can kind of see my set up at the akumal beach... I provided the hot pink fabric thats it, everything else was included... I'll try to find another picture too that my a friend took https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/media/set/?set=a.236264216434630.57589.159957684065284&type=3https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/media/set/?set=a.236264216434630.57589.159957684065284&type=3
