  2. everything looked so nice wendy!!!! i have the same exact dress for my february wedding!
  3. congratulations! everything looked sooo nice! i loved your sand picture frame! what a great idea! how did you get the glass vases to mexico!? did you send them before hand? i want to do something similar but i am trying to figure out how to get those glasses to mexico?
  4. wow!!! that looks awesome!!!!!!!!! so so pretty! you are inspiring me, and the more i think about it the more i want to bring my own stuff for the centerpieces.... how are you getting the glass vases to mexico?!? are you going to do organza overlays on the tables or anything??? i found a website that sells pretty cheap organza and tulle materials so i might order from there. are you having a lot of guests? we are planning for around 50ish so i'm up in the air about the chair bows....
  5. esty has soooooo many great things! i have been a fan for a while now but after looking through this thread i just ordered a wire hanger like the one i saw earlier!!!!!!! sooooo cute and i can not wait to have it in my wedding photos!!! http://www.etsy.com/transaction/35848923
  6. ethan embry - can't hardly wait
  7. hi ladies! i am getting married on feb. 19th at the now sapphire. so far... sent out save the dates, have a website, booked hotel/airfare, i got my dress and 1 pair of shoes (flip flops), saving up to buy my pretty shoes! ha!, found my invites but haven't ordered them yet, will be doing so in the next week or so, i've bought of ton of bathing suits, dresses, shoes all for mexico (i def. took full advantage of the end of season sales! ha), bought a ton of stuff for my oot bags but still have more to do/buy, started working on my "welcome" booklet, booked a photographer, i am almost finished with my bridesmaid gifts... found my bridesmaid dresses and FINALLY got my fiance to decide on his and his groomsmen attire... thats it so far... still debating reception decorations, i am thinking about bringing my own stuff (organza overlays, etc) but not sure yet. is anyone else bringing their own decorations like that.... centerpieces, chair bows??? i might skip out on the chair bows and concentrate on the table decor, but i change my mind every day so who knows! ha! i feel like i should be planning more, but it is so hard with out knowing exactly how many people will be there... so far we have 38 people booked and still counting... we are estimating about 50 or so guests total... happy planning everyone!
  8. ginger, one more question.... i read that you did not do a legal ceremony, we don't plan on doing a legal ceremony either but i didn't want to tell my guests that, did your guests know that it was not a legal ceremony??? we plan on getting married the day before we leave (valentines day) but we didn't want to tell a lot of people, so when we come back we will definitely be married but we didn't want to go through the blood work and extra paperwork to make it legal there.... thanks! jan
  9. ginger you were such a stunning bride! i just peeked at your pictures! the wedding looked amazing! and you got so many great pictures! congratulations to you guys!!!! and it makes me so excited for my wedding there in february!!!! the beach terrace is closer towards the pool area of the hotel so it is further away from the tequila terrace. there is another wedding the same day as mine and she will be on the tequila terrace (i've messaged with her through this site), i'm not exactly sure of the distance between the two areas but i think it will be far away enough to keep both of our events private. the bows looked great on the chairs for both the ceremony and the wedding. i was thinking about bringing my own decorations (my mother and one of my sisters are like martha stewart when it comes to that stuff haha) but that might be a hassle, i'll have to figure it all out... i will probably have about 50 or so people attending as well. and i think my bridesmaids are wearing the same dresses that your girls wore! the color is called horizon though and it is like a bright royal blue color... thanks again for sharing all of this super helpful information!!!!
  10. ginger - awesome review! thanks so much for posting! i am getting married at the now sapphire in february, ceremony on the beach and then cocktail hour/reception on the beach terrace (which is different then the tequila terrace). i am doing the divine package also, i know that the reception set up is all white, did it cost you a fortune to add flowers and the overlays to the reception tables?!? i definitely would like to do that and also get the tiki torches.... but have no idea how much it will end up costing...
  11. oh no! i will keep my fingers crossed for you that all turns out well! try not to stress to much and make the best out of whatever happens! good luck to you and congratulations! you will have the best time no matter what!!!
  12. oh no!!!! what a pain!!! i was planning on putting the travel size advil, alka seltzer, etc. in my suit case, do you think i will have a problem bringing it that way also??
  13. my wedding is feb 19th at the now sapphire riviera cancun, my mother and sisters are planning my bridal shower for nov. 21st, this way it is before the holidays but not too far away from the wedding date...
  14. i love everything you are doing! so creative! and i think the tequila as opposed to champagne toast is perfect! such a fantastic idea!
  15. i'm not sure who the photographer for the now sapphire is, i was sent a few pics from the wedding coordinator as "samples" and then i decided to hire an outside photographer, i am using gonzalo nunez for my pictures...
  16. i recently booked him for my wedding in mexico in february! i am so excited!
  17. yeah, i'm thinking i'll plan welcome cocktails or drinks by the pool or something (depending on when our guests are arriving) and then kind of give them an outline over the few days that we will be there (ex., thursday - beach/pool day, etc) and then leave it up to them if they want to join or do their own thing. a lot of our guests are arriving on wednesday (ceremony is saturday) so i don't want to bombard them with required activities or anything but i also want to make sure that they feel included in the whole wedding celebration weekend.
  18. is anyone planning daily activities for the guests that are attending the wedding?? like a welcome party for the day that a lot of guests arrive and then other daily acitivities for them. i want to start planning things like this but i'm not sure how to go about it. i plan on putting a welcome booklet in the out of town bags but i'm not sure how many things should be planned? do i plan daily activities?!
  19. we are excited to be getting married in february, it will be a nice little break from the cold weather in new jersey for our family and friends. so far we have about 34 people booked including my fiance and i but we are expecting a few more to be booking, so we are guessing around 50 people or so which is a pretty good number. it will be here before we know it i am so excited!
  20. hi there- Â i am actually getting married at the now sapphire on february 19, 2011. we actually haven't been there before but our best friends went there on their honeymoon and they loved it and we have some other friends who have been there before also and loved it. i really didn't look into the now jade too much because once i saw the now sapphire (which was paradisus at the time we started looking) i just fell in love with the overall look of the resort, it has sort of a spanish feel to it which i really liked. we are getting married on the beach and then having our cocktail hour and reception on the beach terrace (so i can switch into my cute shoes! ha!). Â good luck with all your planning! Â
  21. hi again! Â i also think that a lot of our guests will be booked before the invitations even go out, we have 34 people (including mike and i) booked already and a few of our friends and family friends say they are planning on booking soon. we have been trying to estimate pricing for around 50 people or so in our budget for the reception and stuff. we are doing the divine package also and that comes with all white chair covers for the reception and for the ceremony and stuff, i don't think that i'm going to get the other chairs, partly because i don't want to spend the extra money on them and partly because i really don't mind the white so much, but i would like to add some color with the bows (think i can bring my own bows?) and centerpieces, i'll probably be printing my own menus and stuff and have them place it on the tables so that will help add some color to the all white tables...i have so many thoughts and ideas and its hard to try and figure it all out without being able to go there and look and see how they set up the area and stuff. i love your colors! green and coral will look nice with the whole beachy setting and everything...the royal blue color will be the main color accent of my things probably (not sure what "things" i'm talking about yet but i'll find decorations and stuff sooner or later! ha) but i am going to be having 4 definite bridesmaids and 2 maybes (if they can make the trip) and their dresses are that royal blue so that right there will give me some blue to the color palate! ha! i have been working with daniela on everything, she probably thinks i am so annoying because i bombard her with a million questions in my emails! haha! shes been great though, so nice and always answers me back within a few days. ok originally i was confused as to where the beach terrace is (which is nuts since im the one that chose that spot to have my reception!!! haha), but it is kind of near the pool area towards the beach, kind of like where that bridge over the pool is, like if you walk towards the beach on the bridge and go straight theres a terrace area right before the beach and that is where our reception/cocktail hour will be. so we will be kind of close (since it doesn't seem like a far walk in between both) but we probably won't be able to see each other during the receptions and stuff... did you get your shoes and stuff for the wedding yet? i was thinking i'd be barefoot for the ceremony and then have heels and then flip flops for the reception... i decided to hire gonzalo nunez as my photographer, he has been great to work with so far and i liked his photography on his website. i think i am going to upgrade our photo package and do trash the dress pictures the day after, i originally didnt think i'd ever want to do that to my dress but really i'm not ever going to wear it again so why not for some cool pictures! haha! Â
  22. i have decided to go with Gonzalo Nunez for my wedding photography. i feel so much better about hiring someone other then the resort photographer, not that they would do a horrible job but i feel better being able to see great photos from a photographer who is able to show you their work so you can get an idea of their photography style. gonzalo has been great to work with and he takes amazing photos. i am excited to work with him in february! 23. i sent out save the dates and created a wedding website so that our guests can get a head start on planning if they could come or not, i know its hard to ask a lot of people to travel so we just tried to give them as much time as possible to plan out and decide of they can come. there are still a bunch who want to go but haven't booked yet, but the longer they wait the more expensive it will be (esp. for airfare), we have a room rate but its only good for a certain amout of time, so i guess we will see what happens once the invitations go out. i still have to pick invitations but i have narrowed it down to a few. that is awesome that you have a wedding planner there!! i'm sure that is super helpful. i haven't actually put any of the out of town bags together yet, ha! but i have a list of things that i plan on putting them in and i know the actual bags that i'm going to use. 5 months seems so far, but you are right it is going to fly! especially with the holidays in between! as for my colors, the girls are wearing kind of a bright royal blue color, so that and greens are the color scheme i am going with. i havent really decided on favors or anything like that, it might be something beachy but i'm not going super beachy with the theme. Â have you decided on chair bows and flowers and centerpieces and stuff? Â
  24. we actually haven't done a site visit! we wanted to but with work and everything we just couldnt find the time off, our best friends went on their honeymoon there so they actually told us about the place (at the time it was the paradisus) but they loved everything about it. i'm so glad to hear that you guys loved it as well! so far we have about 34 people booked including the two of us with more people booking, so i am not exactly sure how many people will end up coming, if i had to guess i'd say maybe around 50 or so (if everyone who says they are going books) i haven't told anyone a deadline yet for reservations, i actually haven't even thought about that! ha! when are you sending out your invitaitons, i feel like i need to get them out fairly soon since it is a destination... i feel like i should be doing more planning but i guess everyone says the details are planned out more towards the date. i have my dress already and bridesmaid dresses, and i'm working on some decorations and getting the out of town bags together... we have 5 months to go!
