  1. LADIES!!! Important announcement, in case you are aware, your photographer must have a permit in order to take captures on government property, like a beach. Police are cracking down on vendors on government property. If your photographer does not have a permit, he will be fined!! The photographer just needs to apply to the local government building. Not sure how much it costs. Â If your photographer is Ivan Luckie then you're completely covered!! He was the one that told me on another forum.
  2. Of course! I meant we were just helping our photographer out by finding out the info for him. Thanks for the heads up!! Â
  3. OMG!!! I did not know that. Thanks for sharing. Do you how we can apply for one? We're from Texas and not familiar with these legal matters. A link or site? Â
  4. I can't believe how calm you seem!! I would be totally freaking out. Definitely call because that is not acceptable - even if it turns out to be beyond your expectations. 8 days and no response is not how you do good business. Hang in there!!! It'll be amazing and beautiful. Â
  5. Does anyone on here have Andres Rodriguez as their WC at The Royal? We emailed her some questions and her responses made no sense. I agree, shouldn't it be slower now that we're in hurricane season? LOL..... I asked her about extending our reception by an hour and she replied with how much longer do I want the ceremony and what else did I want? ????? Â Granted it's early in the process so I'm laughing it off but I am slightly concerned. Unfortunately I'm under that darn new fee!!! ARGH!!!!! Thank god my photographer counts as a guest.
  6. OMG!!! This totally cracking me up. These fees are horrible!! Are you definiely considering inviting them? At least he can touch up your makeup. Â
  7. I noticed on another thread you were considering Fernando Fuentes for your hair & makeup? Did you book him? I just emailed him myself for pricing and availability. If you're not using him who did you go with? I like how Norma from MAC in Cancun cost less but quality is still great. Â Has anyone else used Norma from MAC in Cancun? Â
  8. You looked absolutely beautiful in your pics. Thanks for sharing!! Your H&M was spectacular. I feel so relieved in being able to see his work! Amazing!! What did he quote you for your H&M and your girls? Everyone looked fantastic. =)
  9. Hi! I'm considering using Fernando Fuents in Playa del Carmen as well. Do you have any pics from the trial? What was his fee that he quoted? Thanks!! Â
  10. I'll have to check with my WC about it. I'm praying it's $100. Might as well learn how much everything is up front before I start booking outside vendors. That's so awesome you were able to do the free wedding. I'm pretty happy with the Luxury package but I wish I heard better comments about SpaAzul so I can use their services. LOL..I'm debating on hair. I hear they do decent hair. Awesome!! I'm thinking about using Fernando Fuentes as well. Would you mind sharing what he quoted you? I'm thinking of having him do makeup/hair for myself, my bridal party, Mom and MIL. With the amount of money these resorts make, you'd think they would give us some freebies. The joys of wedding planning! Â
  11. You're welcome!! I've been scouring tons of threads and websites too. All those areas are beautiful. I really like the setup of Xel-Ha. There is an entrance fee to the park. I tried to find on the INAH website the permits but I couldn't find anything. I would love to take pics at Tulum. I've recognized the Gran Cenote in a few photos. Can't wait!!
  12. Â $350?!! OMG!! That is ridiculous. I was under the impression that it was $100. They really make you use their services or get penalized. So the vendor has to be a guest and remain less than three hours. That's really irritating. Are you using their makeup and hair services as well? Glad to know your WC has been super communicative. Thanks for the info!! Â
  13. I searched another thread and came across this response from Ivan Luckie. Thank you Ivan for helping out with TTD locations in the area. I hope this helps someone else out as well.  Originally Posted by iluckie  I will revel my secrets , here you have a list of TTD amazing places I have been in and did trashed the dress:  Hidden Worlds - fav Xcaret Xel-ha - Fav Cenote Car Wash Gran Cenote cenote Nohoch nachich - Fav Cenote Calavera Cenote Cristal Cenote Escondido Cenote Azul Cenote Cristalino  tulum ruins which need a special permit from INH Mexico  Good luck!! 14. Thanks for clearing that up!! I was not happy when I received the package. If she had said up front - this is how it works on the room rates- then I would have been okay. We're going with 10 minimum as well to lock in our super great rates. I agree about adding on after the min is met. I've been calling close family and friends to get their dep in.
  15. Ivan!! You are simple the best!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I've seen some of your work from other brides on here and it's stunning! Someone on another thread mentioned you now have to have a permit for shooting on the beach? Something about commercial use on government property? Any advice on how we can obtain one? Â
  16. B2B - has anyone scouted out the areas for their TTD sessions? I've seen tons of small ruins near playacar and secluded cenotes/beach spots on Elizabeth Medina and Del Sol websites. Does anyone know where these are - actual names? I would love to use Tulum but I've heard you can't take pics - commercials anyway. I know 5th Avenue has pretty neat spots as well. Thanks!! JYD
  17. Jennifer - thanks for letting us know about that. How strange is that? I'm brining my photographer from my hometown with me. That would be horrible if we couldn't take pictures on the beach of our wedding!!! I will definitely let my photog know. You were definitely lucky in that regard!! Can't wait to see your photos. Â
  18. Jennifer - Thanks for sharing so much from your visit. This has been super helpful. This makes me super excited for our site visit next year. Can't wait to check out all these places. Â
  19. Jen - thanks for letting me know. I had no idea that I would need to purchase additional makeup. WOW! I agree- rather spend that money on something else. I'll definitely check out Fernando. Are you having him do your wedding parties makeup and hair? Have you set up a trial with Fernando yet? I'd love to see pics if he has. Â
  20. Mrs. Martin - where is this location? I've been dying trying to find where this is. I've seen these small ruins and they're perfect. Is this in Playacar? thanks! Â
  21. Is anyone having their makeup done outside of their SpAzul? I've read from a few brides that their makeup is limited but hairstyling is pretty decent. I'm considering using M.A.C since they have two locations: one on 5th Avenue and one in Cancun. Â If you're having an outside person do your makeup do you know if they're charging $100 vendor fee? I've heard if they're there less than 3hrs there's no charge. Â Thanks!!
  22. Ladies - Â I personally would advise against shipping items. Only reason being is that my sister had a destination wedding in the US and they lost all her stuff. So if they can't get it right here then I would be skeptical outside the US. Luckily for my sister they found the lost boxes and they arrive literally the day of the wedding. There was a mad sweatshop going on putting all that stuff together. Â Good luck! JYD1 Â
