  1. YAY!! I just saw another bride on here that is getting married on the 15th. We'll all be wedding buddies! You've gotten much further along in details than me. Right now I've been setting travel packages. That's great info to know about the dance floor. For the DJ alone the price was $850? WOW!! I hope that's 3 hours. We're having an indoor reception due to 6pm ceremony time. They have some rule about outside events ending around 10:30pm. We're extending ours an hour. I think it'll be worth the extra $10 per person hour. Â Â

  3. Hi Charlaon! Â I'm getting maried at the Royal June 2011 as well. I found reading the review by Lady Di extremely helpful. Read her "Ginormous To Do" list as well. Her review on the Royal is extremely detailed and concise. You can find it by just searching Royal PDC review by Lady Di. It should pop up. Happy planning! Â
  4. I am using destination weddings.com myself and just out of curiousity - it is common to pay a large deposit to hold a group rate? I'm looking at $4k and that's just for 20 rooms!!! I'm a little overwhelmed and a little frustrated bc my TA fromt here never once mentioned about being charged a deposit to hold a certain number of rooms for that rate. Â Any Advice?
  5. Hi Everyone!! Â I'm getting married at The Royal PDC on June 16, 2011!! Has anyone been Andrea? Granted it's still some time away but it hasn't been easy getting a hold of her. Â I'm using a travel planner through destination weddings.com. Is anyone else using them? I received a contract about the group room rates and how to reserve that rate. I nearly had a heart attack from what I read. It almost sounded as if I had to put down a dep for 20 rooms at price of $200 = $4k out of my pocket!! Then it says as long as I can get people to sign then I won't be charged and I had 30 days from when I sign & date it?!!! Â I have a meeting with my planner this weekend to discuss but I really would appreciate feedback bc there this does not sound right. Â Thanks! JYD
  6. Hi everyone!! Â I need help figuring out a great spot for TTD pics. I'm bringing another dress with me to get "dirty" in. My own photograher is in Houston as well and we're trying to find places. I love how the ruins at Tulum look over the sea but is it even possible to take TTD pics there? Â I've seen tons of TTD pics by Del Sol & Elizabeth Medina - any brides who have used them - locations would be great!! I love the cenote area they keep using and those small ruins. Â Thanks!! JYD1

  9. Hi! I'm new to the forum and getting married at The Royal June 16, 2011. That thread about the Royal was super helpful!! Has anyone taken advantage of their Site Inspection Program? I just found out if you're having an indoor reception due to a late ceremony time (mine is at 6pm) you can increase your reception time longer - it's an additional $10 per person per hour. 3 hours goes by quickly when you're having fun! I hope this helps anyone considering an indoor reception.
  10. Hi Donna! I'm getting married at The Royal side June 2011 but it's all the same. If you review the Royal thread there are tons of recommended photographers in the area. If you're able to, take advantage of their Site inspection Program. It's a great way to receive some credit. Â Congrats on your engagement!! Â Â
  11. Hello!! I'm 110% considering going with the The Royal Carmen del Playa wedding packages for my June 2011 wedding. Has anyone ever chosen The Luxury Wedding Package? If so, any issues or advice? I noticed that they have sound systems for inlcuded for CDs and Ipods. Did anyone hire a DJ for their wedding and how did it work out? Â I'm also considering a Thursday night instead of Friday or Saturday night as a less volume wedding day. I read they did several a day and am trying to avoid being the 3rd of 4th wedding of my day. Did anyone have issues when there was another wedding going on around them? Â I know it's tons of questions, but any help would be super helpful!! Â Thanks!!
