  1. I'm getting married 2/13/11. Like you guys, I heard some iffy reviews about the DJ services at MP, so I decided to go with the iPod dock, since they give you a tech to go along with it and the mic....AND you get to save a TON of money. The DJ just wasn't worth it to me. We are also taking song requests from our guests. I think I saw that on a post from a few months ago and thought it was a great idea!
  2. I asked my WC about this, since I was concerned about our older guests. She said that they provide golf carts to get your wedding guests around, and not to worry about anyone having to walk unless they wanted to.
  3. I think the venado terrace and garden are near the toucan terrace, close to Capillary Beach. That's where I am booked because I also wanted the toucan terrace and garden but they were already booked, and I told my WC that I was concerned about whether or not it was close to our beach ceremony. She assured me that it was. I'm thinking itight be where the deer pic is on the map, but their map is confusing so I'm not positive. Happy planning!! Quote:Originally Posted by JennW818 Does anyone know what section the Venado Terrace is in? I cannot find it on the map my WC sent me. I'm trying to reserving locations for the cocktail hour and reception. My first choice, Tuscan Garden and Terrace has already been reserved by someone else. Can anyone suggested any other locations? My ceremony is at dolphin beach.
  4. It doesn't make any sense that any of the ceremony sites could be booked for the same time as your wedding. Like the others said, you are paying a lot of money, as are your guests, to get married at this resort. Be very persistent, like everyone else said. I have heard that if you really get it through to them, they will make things happen. The only reason I can think that they would do this is if someone reserved it for the time slot before or after you, and they are taking time for clean up or set up. Maybe if you were willing to change colors to what they will already have there....they could accommodate you??
  5. Hi all! Just wanted to share this email address with anyone who is having trouble getting in contact with your on-site coordinator, or if your Miami coordinator is not letting you pre-book your ceremony/reception sites. Edith Munoz is the on-site WC Assistant, her email address is [email protected]. Janina forwarded her email address to me when I refused to wait until I was contacted by my on-site coordinator to book my sites, since I have heard horror stories about not getting the sites you were planning on. I'm not sure if she will be any quicker to respond than any of the others, but I figured I'd throw the information out there.
  6. This thread is such a good idea I am a claims adjuster - I handle mostly construction defect but also dabble into bodily injury and property damage. Happy planning to all!
  7. Yes, I had this discussion with my WC about this. They will forward a list of the restaurants that they allow the dinner reservations. However I found that two of the places that I wanted were already booked, so as soon as you decide which restaurant you want your rehearsal dinner at, book it ASAP.
  8. Agreed--we are planning on tipping ours, unless she does a horrible job and everything goes down in flames, which is unlikely, I'm sure. I've heard a lot of people just do a flat $50 or $100 in a lot of weddings in the Riviera Maya/Cancun/Acapulco area, and I assume something in that range is appropriate in a lot of other areas.
  9. I am no luck with the vendors, but wanted to let you know that April is beautiful in Vegas
  10. Hi ladies! I just wanted to post a quick reply on here and share some of the info I have. I am getting married 2/13/11 at 3 p.m. on Capilla Beach, then we are having our cocktail hour at the Venado Garden and reception on the Venado Terrace. We chose the Sapphire package. All of our flowers are going to be real touch (with an exception of the bouquet and boutonniere provided along with the package, which we will find some use for, I'm sure.). I ordered the majority of my flowers from Angel's Accents' online store, where she sells individual stems, since she was already booked through April by the time I found her three months ago. I really, REALLY recommend Angel's Accents for anyone who is considering doing real touch. We have booked Sascha Gluck as our photographer for the wedding day and a TTD the next morning. I was working with Janina as my Miami-based coordinator, and I was contacted by my on-site coordinator, Valeria, a couple weeks ago. She has sent me the buffet menus, DJ packages, extra services packages, honeymoon breakfast options, private event spaces, etc, so if anyone wants me to email any of the information I have received, PM me with your email address and I will send on to you. Also, I wanted to add that I had a hard time trying to figure out how to book a "girls day" at the spa or something for my bridesmaids and myself to go get manicures or what not together the day before the wedding, so I wanted to share that I found out that the best person to contact is Reyna Nunez ([email protected]), in case anyone else is looking for that info! Happy planning, everyone!
  11. Ladies, Â Does anyone know if you have to wait until you are assigned an on-site WC before you can request certain things? Like Scorpio30 said, her WC already had her down for a gazebo wedding before she even requested anything. Just wondering if you can tell your Miami WC what you want before having to wait for the on-site one, just in case they already have things booked. Â Scorpio, did you have issues in changing your ceremony location, or was that an easy fix? It seems like since they only do one wedding every hour, hopefully you can choose the same ceremony location as whoever else that day, but I worry about them not being willing to do that because of take-down and set-up times for the next ceremony the following hour. Â Thanks!!! Â
  12. The Grove is a very pretty place! I am a Vegas local and have attended a couple friends' weddings at the Grove. It's a great place to get married if you are looking to be away from the complete "Vegas scene". They are VERY accommodating and the prices are pretty good!
  13. Hi all! We are getting married 2-13-11 and have been giving a lot of thought to what we want to do for favors. We like the idea of mini (50 mL) bottles of Patron with our color ribbon tied around them, but am not sure about MP's policy on outside liquor. Has anyone done something like this recently?? I have heard of people adding them to the OOT welcome bags, but I kind of wanted them presented on the tables at the reception. Â Thanks a bunch!
  14. Hi all! I have booked Sascha for February 13, 2011 and a TTD on the 14th, and was curious to know when any of you who used him received a contract from him? Is it pretty quick after you submit your deposit? I am very uptight about keeping my records straight, so I was just curious if anyone could give me any answer?? Â Thanks, ladies!
  15. Hi all, For any of you that are using real touch flowers, do they look and feel pretty real? I have found a couple websites that sell beautiful real touch bouquets, but I have never seen these before in person, so I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks!
  16. Hi, fellow Moon Palace brides! We just got confirmation for our February 13, 2011 wedding at MP--Hooray! Hope to talk with many of you soon! Amanda
  17. Hi Stephanie! Where is your reception being held? I figure I can help name some places that will be convenient, location-wise, for you to consider for after your dinner reception. I am a local and there is a lot to choose from around here!
  18. Hi all, Do they do Sunday weddings at any of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica? Also, do you have to walk down the "aisle" and have a first dance...? It will just be us, so I would feel kind of weird doing these traditional wedding things, you know? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
  19. I haven't been yet, but have some friends who went last year and said it is AMAZING! I am incredibly excited! Good luck with your planning!
  20. Hi all! I have followed the site for awhile and finally decided it's time to make an account and actually start posting! We have been engaged for two years and have been in and out of wedding planning, we set a date once, chose a place in town (we live in Las Vegas), and then ended up canceling because it just wasn't what we wanted. All along we knew we wanted to run away and get married, so here we are! I'm really looking forward to talking with all you other destination brides out there!
