  1. Hello and Congrats!! This site is wonderful when planning for a destination wedding because you can see pictures of other weddings at your venue, read several reviews on different vendors, and get lots of cool ideas and suggestions along the way. Have you began to look at different venue sites? Cabo's most popular and main beach (and one of the only swimmable beaches) is Medano beach. If you are hoping for a really private beach ceremony, I would suggest looking into hotels that are not located right on the Medano strip. Are you and your fiance able to make a site visit? I know for me this was not only helpful, but necessary before deciding on a resort and photographer. (But I am a HUGE planner.) What have you done so far? And do you have a date and budget in mind? Even early on, those are two things you MUST know before making any decisions.
  2. Thanks for your input, ladies! Since, I have decided to give mexican wedding cookies instead. I'm too afraid to take the risk that the chocolates would melt. I would flip. And that would not be good. LOL.
  3. Thank you! Beautiful pictures! Helpful too!
  4. Love the pic!!! I can't wait to see more and hear all about it!! Congratulations!
  5. Good luck, Proti007!!! I hope all goes well. Dont' forget to update us when you get back
  6. Gorgeous photos!!!! Love them. I live in the DC area as well!!! We took our e photos in Old Town, Alexandria. Happy planning!!
  7. Hi Ladies! I am planning for my wedding in Cabo Mexico this fall, and have decided I want to use M&M chocolates for our wedding favors (our friends sometimes call us this bc our names are Marvin and Maritza ). My question is, has anyone ever used these to travel to Mexico and had any issues with the chocolate melting? Ordering the candy in bulk gets pricey so I just want to be sure before I order them that we won't have any problems with melted candy in Mexico. Our wedding will take place in early October, so Mexico will still have 80 degree weather during the day. My plan is to take the chocolates with me as part of my carry on if the airline will allow it. What do you think? Bad idea???
  8. You can prob copy and paste the words, but Im not sure if the pictures will come through. Can wait to read your review and see pics!
  9. These are all good suggestions! Thank you, ladies. This helps! My reception will be held in a ballroom at the resort. There is a staircase and small area just in front of the doors to the ballroom where I plan to put a table with the guest place cards. I may use one of the arrangements here and possibly the second one on the outdoor patio where the bar will be set up??? What do you think? Our cake will have flowers on it already, and it will be on a very small table so I don't know if a big arrangement would work next to the cake.
  10. Hi Ladies, Has anyone used their wedding ceremony arrangements as decor for your reception? I am having an outdoor ceremony and our florist is making two large arrangements to be placed in front of the wedding gazebo similiar to this. My question is, I want to reuse these arrangements somehow for our indoor reception if at all possible since they are so $$$ but need ideas on where I can put them?!?! Any suggestions??? Thanks!
  11. Hi Faye, I am planning for my Cabo wedding in October. We initially planned on having 40-45 guests attending, but we are now @ 63 total. My wedding is taking place @ Dreams Los Cabos. Here is what we are spending on our vendors: -Dinner - Dreams is an all inclusive resort, but their wedding packages include only up to 24 guests. Our wedding package was $2060 when we signed the contract, but I believe the cost is now up to 2600. The cost per person (for any guests over 24) is $65. They did have one package that was cheaper than mine and one that was more expensive. The only difference b/w my package and the more $$ one is a musical trio which is included in the more expensive package and is for the ceremonial music. - We are getting married at a wedding gazebo so our ceremony isnt costing us too much. If you decide to do a beach wedding, you may need to pay for a wedding arch if you want one. -Photographer- 5 hours of photos + 2 small albums with 100 photos and one large coffee table album w/50 photos = $2,600 (I thought this was a really good deal compared to other rates we were quoted) -Flowers- You can spend a lot on flowers!!! I am not going crazy with flowers, but I did choose calla lillies and orchids which are more expensive flowers. Our total for my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 7 boutoneirres, 2 corsages, 2 ceremony arrangements, and 8 table centerpieces was around 1,200. - DJ- I'm not too sure about this because my FI has been in charge of the music and DJ, but i think our total cost is around 1,500. But we have hired him for the ceremony (was cheaper for his mics than the resorts), he will play preceremony music, processional music, cocktail hr and for our 4 hr reception. - Makeup/Hair- I haven't even hired anyone for hair / makeup yet because I was unsure what I was doing. But I think I am going to hire someone for my hair and have my girlfriend do my makeup. From what I've read on this site, you will likely pay around $240 for a hair/makeup package. I hope this helps!!! Happy planning!! Let me know if you have any other questions. I know how frustrated I was when I first began planning and it took FOREVER to hear back from vendors and resorts on pricing.
  12. I'm so sorry to hear that? When is your wedding? My fiance and I are having EM weddings for our October wedding. We met with one of the photographers from EM when we did our site visit last September. At the time we were looking, EM Weddings was definitely not the cheapest photographers we found, but they were reasonable and seemed to do good quality work. His packages were better in that they included more than other photographers we contacted. The owners name is Enrique Morales and his email is [email protected] Hope this helps!
  13. Congrats on your wedding!!! Can't wait to see your pics
  14. Trisha- the pictures are beautiful!!
  15. It looks so pretty!!! I'm getting excited . THank you so much for posting these. I'm a little concerned about the room size. The coordinator has assured me that we can fit 8 round tables, a sweetheart table, the dance floor, and DJ in there comfortably. From your picture, it seems the room was already full with only 4 tables. Yikes!
  16. That's so funny you would mention KiwiBride because as a fellow dreams bride, I've been waiting for her to upload her pics and review. I'm so glad to hear the reception was nice and that the ballroom was also nice. Makes me feel better about my decision:) Thank you!! I was actually curious about the "terrace" as they called it (or the patio) because I don't remember seeing it during our site visit. I do, however, remember the private bathrooms which I also liked. If you could upload a few pics that would be great. I would really appreciate it!! I may also send KiwiBride a PM. She might be a busy newlywed I look forward to her review. Thank you so much, Tlseege!!!
  17. Hello Ladies! Just wondering if anyone has had their wedding reception inside the Dorado ballroom @ Dreams Los Cabos? I know most destination brides have outdoor receptions, but my fiance and I opted for an air conditioned reception just to be a little more comfortable. We did a site visit last September when we were trying to decide which resort to host our wedding at. I've seen the ballroom once before, but would love to see what other brides have done with the ballroom as far as decor, setup, etc. Just trying to remember exactly what the room looks like (the resort could only provide me with one photo ) and get ideas for my October wedding. If anyone has had their reception inside the Dorado ballroom and would like to share ideas or photos, it would help me out tons! TY!
  18. Wow! Everything was beautiful! I love the centerpieces! Congrats :0 Your date is quickly approaching!!!!!
  19. @ Jbailey- I am getting married at the wedding gazebo so I am not using too much decoration for the ceremony. I will have two big flower arrangements in front of the gazebo and rose petals lining the aisles. Other than that, the location is so beautiful that I don't think it needs much else. I do plan on bringing lots of stuff for the wedding reception (being held indoors) like my table overlays, candle votives, menus, favors, etc. The resorts prices are expensive for lots of their decorations. I have a lot of pricing info if you'd like me to send it you. I know Dreams prices have gone up for certain things since we signed our contract, but many of the prices are the same and it may still be helpful to give you an idea of their price range for different things. @Mich111- I'm sure everything will work out. Happy planning!!
  20. Everything looks great!! You've gotten a lot done!! I've checked out that Vistaprint website, but I don't understand how ppl get so many things for free! I was hoping to get some brochures for free or for a low price
  21. I will!! So where are you in your planning?? I just went to try my gown on this past Saturday. It came in last week and I was so stressed out about how it would fit, but luckily it fit almost perfect
  22. Jbailey, what is your wedding date? I will be arriving @ Dreams on Tuesday Oct 4th and my wedding is that Friday the 7th
  23. Thanks for sharing that link, prooti007. I just watched some of the videos. I can't wait for my October wedding
