  1. So I'm a planner. My wedding is in March and I sent my invites and RSVP cards out in August. I figured that would give everyone enough time to get their money together. I sent out 112 invites (60 +guests) so far only 25 pp RSVP but 12 of those are the wedding party and their guests. The RSVP deadline is Oct 15th, 3 weeks away. I just want to have a good headcount for budgeting purposes. I emailed them to remind them and that got about 4 RSVPs. What are people waiting for? So far no one has booked their room or flight. I am getting married in 5 months. Is this normal and I am just crazy because this is supposed to be the most important day of my life? I'm getting a little antsy because for most things I need a head count.
  2. I'm pretty sure they will speak great english, jamaicans don't speak another language, they speak english. When it is necessary to speak proper english, they probably do better than you and I lol. Remember it was owned by England not to long ago. A translator should not be necessary.
  3. no sand ceremony, we are actually being funny and coming in to Ting-a-ling by Shabba Ranks (reggae) lol. Nicole got back to me and said signing the certificate is usually at the end.

  7. Does anyone know if there will be new prices for 2011? I know from 2009-2010 the prices for the wedding package and extras went up so I'm worried that will happen in 2011 and my budget will be all wrong....

  10. Has anyone decided what they will do about the bar situation for the reception and cocktail hr? I am having my cocktail hr on the lobby terrace and the lobby bar is a few steps away, should I really pay the extra 10pp, when they can just go inside and get a drink? The reception says it includes beer and wine, are you guys getting an open bar too? This open bar situation is a difference of $2k, so I dunno. I plan on partying afterward and we will have all we can drink then.
  11. I am regretting the glass now, but they are so pretty when put together, I couldn't help myself. Hopefully they make it there, if not maybe I need a B plan.
  12. I'm bringing my glass centerpieces, a little worried but we'll see what happens. I have 10 bubble ball glass vases, I figured I'm gonna wrap them really good with clothes and bubble wrap and put them in a trunk and check them in. SCARY! Luckily, they were only $2.50 each.

  14. I like that idea, i thought about it but my fiance shot me down, but I'm pretty sure they probably will be using that bar anyway. I'ma run that past him again because we are also using the terrace.

  16. Same problem, I think I will be using the Calabash just so we can have air conditioning. This might be a last minute decision I have to see if it will be large enough for 65 pp and dancing. No one wants to dance in the heat...

  18. Might be a dumb question, but do I give favors to my guests and their dates or just the person whose name is on the invite? If it helps, I am doing a Wedding CD with a playlist of our wedding songs. I'm trying to figure out how much I need, does everyone get one?
