  1. Hello All, I have 50 white hangover kit boxes left over from my welcome bag. The 50 boxes do not have labels on them, but i have the labels if you would like them. The picture shows the white box with the label. Dimensions: 6"L x 3"W x 2"H. See pictures below. You can have all 50 with labels (detached) for $25 plus $5 shipping anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. PM if you have any further questions! Thanks
  2. Congratulations Subbi on your marriage!!! I'm glad though that you didn't let anything that went wrong bother you! It's really nothing you can do i guess at that point and you might as well just go with the flow. I wonder if i will be as care free! =) I really want to also get those lantern balls you have there, how many do you think we would need to cover the entire patio area ceiling? I'm having my cocktail hour on the terrace. It's such a beautiful view from there! This picture you added is really pretty! I can't wait to see all the other ones! I am using Michael Weiller for our photos. As for your ceremony, did you end up using your I-pod and the resort speakers? Wondering how the music was handled by Jennifer, like did you give her directions as to what song was used for what?
  3. Hello All, I have a total of 29 unused 2.5oz clear plastic bottles (there is aloe in the bottle in the picture). I used them for aloe. 14 of these bottles have the aloe label you see in the picture, and the other 15 have no labels. I have extra labels for the 15 if you want them. Will sell either the 14 or the 15 or both. $10 for half of them or $20 for all 29 with labels. PM me if you are interested. Thanks!
  4. Of course not! Especially if it is DR rum as then you are incorporating a local gift. I've been to many weddings and i've gotten a bottle of wine as a take home. It's definitely useful as it will most likely be used, even if they don't drink, they can use it for when guests come over. I think it's a great gift idea!
  5. 45 Days Left until I DO!!!!!!! I can't wait! Leave November 1st! =)
  6. Don't know if the pastor they use is catholic or can perform catholic ceremonies. But the other brides on this forum have used Pastor York and raved about him. He also gets booked very quickly.
  7. Quick question Brendee, are you going to use fake flowers as a base under the brooch to keep them together? Or how are you going to keep them sturdy up the brooches without any support underneath?
  8. Hahah Melissa. Yeah, all the little stuff that add up! I guess I'll be seeing you that Friday!! =) I pretty much have all the items below done, just finalizing the spanish packet for the oot bags, along with a who's who for our guests which will also be put in the bags. I have not yet bought the pepto or tums, i figured we should have that in the oot bags too, but have not yet purchased them. I just remembered, we need programs as well, so another task to the list. Also, i wanted to have my guest toss rose petals or something when we walk down the aisle after the ceremony, so need to figure out if i will have rose petals and if i need to buy those cone thingies to hold the petals or if i can make them as i have seen them and they are pricey since i will need about 70 for our guests. So much to do and so little time! Also need to finalize the table seating, music for the DJ, write my vows, send out the teaser gifts to our guests on October 1st. Oh my, i have more than i thought to do. the list is just growing! =) But it is so much fun, i can't wait and i can say that with all that i have done, i can't complain and i have not yet stressed out too much! =)
  9. I'm assuming Melissa is speaking about the credit card fees. Usually credit cards charge an international fee for all purchases abroad and they usually are in like the 20% fee on the purchase total. But i guess i will just have to fork up that fee to the credit card company since i would want that protection that welljen mentions. Can't wait though, 2 months from today i will be getting married at Dreams, i can't wait! So much to do and i would've thought that 2 years prep time would've been enough! haha

  13. Hello Starr, Welcome to the forum and congrats on choosing a location! I saw that you already were on the Dreams Punta Cana thread, that would be your best bet to get all the pointers you will need for anything DPC related! Good luck and when i have my wedding in November, i will post everything that did and the outcome when i get back. Can't wait!
  14. Hi Jump! She is correct. In the package that you are getting, alcohol is included for 20 people during the 3 hour dinner. You get the silver bar and gold dinner for only 20 people. If you have more than 20 people in your wedding, they you will have to pay per person for dinner and they will automatically get the silver bar package. You can upgrade your package as well if you want the gold or platinum. Hope this helps!
  15. Here is what the WC sent me when i asked what they say for the ceremony and it does take 10-15 minutes only). I will be using this as a guide, but i will rewrite it to what i would want said. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here among family and friends, on this very special day with the purpose of uniting in marriage (Insert names) , who have made the decision today to join their lives and as a couple, love and care for each other. United, they will soon begin a new chapter in their lives, fulfilling their dreams, reaching their stars, walking this new path of life side by side. Marriage is a very special and serious bond that has its origins in a solemn agreement celebrated between a man and a woman who in their own free will declare their love and respect for each other. This union is a symbol of giving love, protection, faithfulness and passion. This sacred bond you will share will be the first step: joys and hardships will be met and overcome with happiness, love and truth. We should all be proud of the decision that has been made here today in the presence of our loved ones, and to the happy couple, know that this day you have chosen will be forever yours to cherish, as the beginning of something beautiful as it is to start a new life with each other. To complete this union, it is necessary that no one be opposed to it. If anyone among us knows of any reason to prevent this marriage, let them speak now or forever hold their peace. If you have written vows for each other, please go ahead and share them now (insert name) do you accept (insert name) To be your legitimate wedded wife? Do you promise to love her, honor her and protect her in good times and bad times, in richness and in poverty, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live? As a sign of this promise and commitment, place the ring on (insert name) hand VOWS (to repeat after ME) I, (insert name) take you (insert name)to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully through the best and the worst, through the difficult and the easy. As I have given you my hand to hold so I give you my life to keep. (insert name) do you accept (insert name) To be your legitimate wedded husband? Do you promise to love him, honor him and protect him in good times and bad times, in richness and in poverty, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live? As a sign of this promise and commitment, place the ring on (insert name) hand I, (Insert Name) take you (Insert Name) to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully through the best and the worst, through the difficult and the easy. As I have given you my hand to hold so I give you my life to keep. SAND CEREMONY (Insert names) today you are making a life-long commitment to share the rest of your lives with each other. Your relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these individual containers of sand. You come here today from two different families. From these two families a new family will be created today. At this time, I would invite the parents of (Insert names) to come forward. There are four vessels of sand one to represent each family and one to represent (Insert names) I now ask that the parents will take their sand and simultaneously pour the sand into the unity bowl symbolizing the foundation the uniting of the two families into one. Now (Insert names) add your sand to the vessel symbolizing the formation of your new family. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage and your families be. PLEASE POUR! (Insert names) remember Love is the eternal force of life. Love is the force that allows us to face fear with courage. But although you will be sharing one life, never forget you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately. Having no one oppose to his union, we have heard and witnessed the couples wish to marry and proclaim to the world their love in the Dominican Republic, on 05 OF November 2011 At the Dreams Punta Cana resort & Spa, we wish you all the best in the world or the rest of your lives. I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!!! And now I am glad to present MR and MRS (insert name)
  16. Here is what they sent me for flowers, they can do whatever you want, so if you have a bouquet in mind, just send them the picture and they will quote you.
  17. Hi All, As for the WC's, yes, they delay in their responses, they are sooo busy especially this time of year they have so many weddings. So do not worry, as they eventually will respond. If your wedding is not coming up, they will definitely take their time in their response since they are dealing with brides that have weddings that month or within a month or two. In the end though, you will get a response and also have a great experience. As for the beach wedding, the few reasons i did not want it on the beach is: 1) I wanted to wear heels, so would not have been able to if we were on the beach, 2) They do not section off a part on the beach, so i read/seen that the hotel guests watch the entire ceremony, which is fine, but also at the same time, you may have folks that are loud or people walking around in their bathing suits close by. So i didn't think I would've felt comfortable and also i didn't want to risk if there were kids playing near by making noise. Brides has mentioned that the hotel guests in the most part were respectful when they saw a wedding was going on. I just rather not risk it. 3) I would be too nervous about the wind and my veil blowing around all over the place and also the salt in the air possibly effecting my hair. =) Who knows, but again, didn't want to risk it. For the spa, they told me that they only create their appointments as far as one month out. So that you aren't able to book too early. I will be sending my email at least one month out to make this appointment! Especially since there are 3 weddings a day and i think they have 3 people doing hair/makeup, i definitely don't want to miss the chance since i have no idea how to do make-up and i wouldn't have a back up plan! =) For dates for weddings, i chose November as it is the very tail end of hurricane season (so hopefully wouldn't have to worry too much about hurricanes) and also it is off season during that time. I would hate to book it during a time that is peak and hurricane, just didn't want to risk it and be too expensive for my guests. Just a thought. Happy planning ladies! time will fly by! I have been on this forum since May of last year with all the questions concerns that you all had, now it's less than 4 months away and i am soooo excited! I can't wait! I will completely help out if you guys need anything while i am there as i know how you all are feeling! So just let me know with a PM if you want any pictures of anything. Thanks, Ska2
  18. Hi swojdyla! Sure, this is what i ended up doing for the OOT Bags since we have so many guests! I don't want to sound cheap, but I would've loved to have gotten all name brand items and filled the bag with goodies, but instead, since i didn't want to spend so much on those items and instead utilize the extra cash for the actually wedding. Especially considering you actually have to do so much more for a destination wedding, the welcome dinner (where everyone is invited), we didn't have a registry since people were paying so much to come to the wedding, so i am going to assume the cash/gifts we get back from our guests will be significantly less if we had a local wedding. So with all that said, this is what we did for our OOT bags: Welcome Bag: http://www.orientaltrading.com/large-hibiscus-tote-bags-a2-34_737-12-1.fltr?Ntt=hibiscus+bag Plus sometimes you can find free shipping codes online, that always helps since sometimes just the shipping charge is not worth the purchase. We are throwing in some fans as well: http://www.orientaltrading.com/tropical-hibiscus-folding-fans-a2-34_102-12-1.fltr?Ntt=fans For our First aid kit or hangover kit, instead of buying those plastic white cases that many of the brides bought, which i love, but just cost too much, we ended up buying white boxes from papermart: http://www.papermart.com/Product%20Pages/Product.aspx?GroupID=20580&ParentGroupID=34793 (the 6X3X2 size) Only cost $26 for 100 boxes. We already created our stickers that we got ideas from this site, and it will cover the entire lid of the box, very cute! Inside the hangover kit/bag, we are including: Sunscreen: i didn't want to buy them big bottles, plus sunscreen is soooo expensive, i figured just give them enough to hold them over if they forgot it and then they can purchase at the resort, i can't imagine too many people forgetting! You are going to a beach, so i would assume it's on the top of people's list, so i didn't feel it necessary to give them too much of sunscreen, so we bought from minimus.biz the Safetec Sunscreen Lotion (packet) and they were .25 cents per packet and we bought 200 packets (free shipping) and we will give approx 3 packets per person. Aloe: we definitely wanted to include aloe, but instead of buying individual aloe bottles (again pricey), we bought plastic bottles off of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320713560769&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123#ht_500wt_1209 We bought 3 2oz packs totaling 90 bottles for $28.00. As for the actual aloe, we went to drugstore.com and bought Fruit of the Earth (20 oz) 7 bottles for $35 and will use this to fill up the plastic bottles and label the plastic bottles with our own custom label. Tylenol: Again, we ordered this together with the Aloe at drugstore.com . We found Tylenol Extra Strength Pain Reliever in individual packets, 50 packets per box. We bought 3 boxes, totaling 150 tylenol packets at $14.99 each box ($44.97 for the 3 boxes) Pepto and bandages: we haven't ordered yet, i think we may have forgotten, but we will order individual packets to include in the welcome bag Powdered Drinks: we went to "deals" a local discount store and found boxes containing individual packets of crystal light (that make one drink from a water bottle per pack) and bought over 200 packets (3 different flavors) for only $17.00. we will give one flavor of each to each guest. Lanyards and Key card holder - We ordered this from ebay. we got 100 lanyards for like $12.00 and 100 Key Card holders for $12.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-100-Neck-Lanyard-ID-Card-Badge-Holder-Strap-10-C-MM-/130490617153?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e61d8cd41#ht_3020wt_990 and http://cgi.ebay.com/Lot-50-Vertical-Business-ID-Card-Badge-Holder-w-Zipper-/130489885394?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e61cda2d2 We printed up business size paper to put in the card holder so folks know what this is for. We got the idea from a thread on this site. Welcome Letter: Still working on this, but it will be included Itinerary: Still in the works, but will include one for the guests and a specific one for the BM/GM Who's Who: Still in the works: but we will have a directory of who is there, with their picture and how they are related to the bride or groom Spanish phrases, we though it would be funny to have one normal one with a few basic words, and then a funny one for our single folks attending, like "What's your room number" I'm free tonight". I think our friends would get a kick out of it! Some sort of game, maybe cards or crosswords, still not sure, working on this. We were going to add toothpaste and toothbrush, but the resort actually has those already in all the rooms for free, so one less expense for us! I think that is everything in our welcome bags. We also decided not to do a room drop for the bags as the resort is charging something like $2.00 per bag, so instead, we had asked our guests who have RSVP'ed for their flight information and we will be greeting each of our guests upon their arrival in the lobby with drinks and giving them their bag. I know it'll be a lot of work, but i think that will be a great added touch and they will be nicely surprised. =) Hope this helps out! If you or any brides have any additional suggestions, feel free to post them! Thanks!
