  1. yeah def pink, esp if they´re more comfy. nicy when calypso do your photos on disk they´ll put them to the music you had at your ceremony. gotta love a bit of bruno...
  2. Fab songs Michelle, We had a bit of Lionel while everyone was waiting, then Jason Mraz I´m Yours to walk down the aisle to, Savage Garden I knew i loved you before i met you, while we signed the register, and Bruno Mars Just the Way You Are as we walked back out. for our first dance song we´d planned to have Lonestar Amazed, but by the time they called us onto the stage to do the first dance everyone of us was shitfaced, so we just danced to whatever they put on, unfortunately not one single person of our party can remember what song that was..... we think it was Elvis, probably i can´t help falling in love with you....... but not 100% sure! I love the Jason Mraz song, totally sums up the important things in life!
  3. We didn´t put our music onto cd to take with us until about 8hrs before we left for the airport! if you want something doing properly......
  4. yeah i know, but everyone knows when the party is, we told them all last year, so it´s just a formality really, and due to the level of shite-ness about people rsvp-ing, i´m a bit reluctant to send out invites again. I think ´they´ll be a vistaprint special. in fact i might make that today's job. right after i finish writing my thankyou notes.
  5. michelle i got 3 rsvp's..... 3 we have to do our ahr invites soon, the party is may 14th and we already have people booked to fly out here (i feel really tight cos i reckon no-one would have bothered if they knew we were coming back to the uk to live!)
  6. michelle your ahr invites look beautiful, really pretty. your and nicy's fi are just like antony, he wouldn´t let me take a picture of him in his wedding suit in case i showed everyone..... foolish boy, like anyone REALLY cares about the groom that much, it´s all about the bride!
  7. nic i love stephens outfit, but i especially love the thought of him planting geraniums wearing it. the nails look great too
  8. hiya, a lot of our guests (myself included) took off our wristbands for the day. we just had to take the band back to reception the following day to get a new one.
  9. hmmmm, i wish i hadn´t taken the kids!!!! Take immodium, everyonne except me got the shits! not really badly, but you don´t want to take the risk! Take LOADS of conditioner. My hair was a wreck. Take loads of bikinis's, they don´t dry so well on your balcony cos of the humidity, nothing worse than putting wet pants on! We took a bit of clothes detergent to rinse our swimmers out in too. This was def a good idea cos some of our group's swimmers got a bit cheeeeesy! Also, the one of the best things we did was give everyone thermal travel mugs. These were awesome! You could get 3 times as much booze in as in the normal cups, and they stayed cold. I got mine for about 1.25€ from amazon. I will do a bit more thinking. Oh yeah, i wish i hadn´t taken my bingo wings!!!!!!!
  10. Nicy they look great, I really like them. You're on fire at the moment!
  11. Ooooh Michelle, gorgeous shoes. I think you should buy them anyway! You can never have too many shoes!
  12. Nic that photo charm is beautiful, really pretty. It 's one of my favourite things that i did, (had Ant 's grandma in tears mind) .
  13. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm i think i´ll just wait til i come home and try to make a will, then the solicitor can tell me! i see your point tho nicy, there´d not be much point in doing it really would there, if it wasn´t legal!
  14. hmmmmmm..... does it actually matter if it's not legal in the uk?
  15. Right i know i should prob have looked into this sooner, but as we´re living in Spain it never occured to me! When we move back to the UK, will we need to do something to our wedding certificate to make it legal? In fact, will it even matter if i´m not taking his name and you don´t get tax breaks for being married? I am such a div. What do you know girls?
  16. haha i love the last one, made me laugh out loud!
  17. Yeah they do the blood test at the meeting, there's a doctor and nurse that take you to the upstairs part of the lobby during your meeting. I never had the results back, I just assumed everything was ok! You only have to be there 3 days before the wedding, so Tuesday should still be ok for getting the formalities sorted.... they might let you take your mum and dad´s passports over a day later..... Give it another month or so then email and ask.
  18. nicy, how long before your wedding do your mum and dad get there? i reckon there´ll still be time to process all the details if they wait til after your they get there.
  19. We didn´t need our birth certs, just our passports and the immigration card you get when you arrive. Also we didn´t have to take our witnesses to the meeting, just their passports and immig cards.
  20. jrb, we used calypso this month, we chose package 4 for 1200$US, for that we got 4 hours of their time, getting ready pictures, ceremony, reception, then she went away and came back for the dinner. With that you get a slideshow with 120pics on and an album of 50 pics. I think package3 was for 2 or 3 hours, cost about 800$US, the cheaper options ie 1 and 2 don´t come with an album, just a cd, so i reckon you can mix and match. It´s true they will bend a bit on price....... we got all 350negatives for an extra 200$, they also did a film, even though we said we prob wouldn´t want it, he wanted 450 for it but we knocked him down to 300for cash. When you have your meeting at the Palace Mexcio the WC will ask if you want the photography service, and after she's finished with you she calls over the photo lady to have a look at prices, confirm your room number and what time etc. If there are specific pics you want don't be afraid to ask, and make sure your room is tidy! in my photos you can see the debris of our holiday in some of the pictures! I'd emailed Calypso about a month before we left, but i hadn't needed to, the WCwill have it under control! Should also say that i took 23 purple chair sashes and she put them on the chairs for free, no questions asked....... we also gave her the cake topper and that was sorted out great, and we had a cd with our music on which they used and returned the following day.
  21. I think her wedding was maybe not quite so eventful, but i know she was stressed and hot and there was the odd thing that didn´t go according to plan, but like roo said, there´s bound to be some things....... i´m still feeling sorry for myself over the whole wedding-ring-lost incident, but i suppose it´s partly holiday blues too! honestly though, they lost my wedding ring? for fucks sake. wouldn´t that be the one thing you´d hold on to for dear life? i need to not watch my wedding dvd for a while, until i´ve regained my sense of humour, cos i watch it and feel like crying! ooh dear, don´t mind me..... i´ve been on the waggon since, erm, thursday. i probably need a drink!
  22. oh god i wish i was still planning my wedding! i wouldn´t want to actually have to go through it again, but i really enjoyed the shopping and planning. so, nicy or roo, (can't remember which, it was pages ago!) to answer your question, the reason we are moving home is mainly financial. i know the uk is in recession. or just out of it, whichever, but spain is really on it´s arse at the moment. there are bars and shops closing down left right and centre, and being english, even when you speak spanish, your job opportunities are limited. we get paid 6 or 7€ per hour, usually with no contract, therefore no social security. when we come back we´re going to be eating into out savings at first, but at least there´s the prospect of things getting better, if we stay here for another ten years things will still be the same out here, you can´t even get a job in a supermarket chain, all the jobs go to the spanish, which is as it should be. the final straw for me really was when i got a summary from the tax office at the end of last year, to tell me how many days i´d earned towards my pension...... 5 months and 6 days. you have to earn 15 years to get a pension, and i´ve been here 7 years and earned 5 months????? at this rate i´ll be dead before i can retire!!!!! so now i´m buried in the ofsted website and rightmove, and sheffield education website, trying to work out where we go from here...... it´s quite exciting really and it will be so great to be back with all my friends, and go shopping, (oh yeah, and working.....right....!) and shopping........ i say give coco bongos a go, i think it´s abou 50$, just get as shitfaced as you can in the first two bars, and you´ll enjoy cocos more. plus it´s a long walk between señor frogs and cocos, so wear shoes you can walk in! any of you remember jodie p from this thread? she hasn´t been on for ages, she got married in the riu caribe in cancun the day before me. we were on the same flight going and coming, it was great to actually meet someone from this thread! her photos were done by juan navarro and they´re gorgeous, although i like mine just as much and we just used the resort company...... maybe i´m a tiny bit biased though! loving the shoes btw lynsdey
