  1. Ha! My sister who is also in my wedding is a negative 0 or something and tries to give me advice too. She said if I would stop drinking, eating carbs and anything white from now until the wedding, I'd lose weight ... not going to happen!
  2. Agreed ladies! Dumb! I had not heard anything about paying extra if they don't use your travel agent. How would the resort know?? I think that is false. People can book anyway they want as long they stay at the resort.
  3. No I didn't hear anything else about renovations but I'll be sure to ask when I'm there in a few weeks!
  4. Spoke to my TA that was there over the weekend and had dinner with the wedding coordinators and manager Monday night. He said we have absolutley nothing to worry about and they all know what they are doing and the place is beautiful. They are planning on doing millions of dollars in renovations. He said that by the time I am there that possibly 100 rooms will be done and the mattresses will be getting replaced as that is a big complaint I have heard. He said the food is fantastic. When he asked them about the slow responses and not having all the pricing, they responded saying that they have so many weddings and they prefer for you to just plan everything once you get there, which I've heard from lots of other brides. I know the thought makes me nervous but it seems to be the way things go down there. A little over 3 weeks before we go down for our site visit!!
  5. Congratulation Jen. I've heard good things about that resort. I received an email today from Daniella. She was supposed to have attached the Now calculator but didn't so I emailed her back saying there was no attachment. Apparently for the cocktail hour that is included in the packages it is with waiters that bring you drinks or you could pay extra (depening on the package ... $441 for the Now to Eternity and $350 for the Divine) to have a designated bar set up with a bartender. I think we'll just go with the waiters that comes with it. As long as there are drinks, right??!! She is also giving me prices on centerpieces and bouquets. wow! They are around $100-200 a piece! Yowza!! We may have to play that by ear. Still no menu options but she says they are working on it.
  6. I was lucky enough to be able to use the cutter at my office. We have a whole printing area and cutting boards and large staplers and the graphics guy helped and showed me how to scoar, cut and staple them. The only thing I paid for was the envelopes, stamps and wax!
  7. I have the same issue. My family doesn't believe in bridal showers etc. but I am diong a honeymoon registry (preferred option) and a traditional registry for my american friends and his family. Honeymoon registry is the way to go!
  8. I believe someone else posted on another thread but I have had the best experience with Medco Health Store They also always have coupon codes for $10 off orders of $25 and up with 99 cent shipping. I've order shout and off wipes, tylenol, chapstick and pepto so far. They also have great deals on make up!
  9. Hey Aly, yes email me with any info you've got! [email protected] - Thanks!! I've only ever dealt with Daniela. She sent me an email last night but it didn't say much. Just that she was working on getting me prices on centerpieces and bouquets. I think we'll go with the Now to Eternity package since we already have a DJ and photog.

Thanks, Angi We just used regular card stock paper and they turned out fine. You can use fancier paper but I think this worked out great. The gold lettering is just the color font on the file. Thanks everyone for all the compliments. Our guests have been raving about them!
  11. Now that my invitations are out, I fell like I don't have anything to do! Can that be right? I can't really do OOT bags until I know how many people ... I feel like I've done most everything else. I'm sure I'm forgetting something!
  12. Wow this is super helpful!! I have 5 bridesmaid and he has 4 groomsmen so we'll have additional floral costs that I'm sure will be sky high and I think we'll do small centerpieces. I was leaning towards the Now to Eternity since we already have a dj and photographer. Thank you so much!!
  13. Congratulations on the baby!! How exciting!!
  14. Did they ever provide you with a new romance calculator with the new prices that you could share? The not knowing about how much anything is going to cost is the only thing that freaks me out!
  15. Thanks! That will come in handy! What type of room did you stay in? I got a message from our TA that we may get the governor's suite ... sounds nice!
  16. ktchi, welcome back! So glad to hear that your wedding was fantastic. Can't wait to hear all about it! Where are you headed to for your honeymoon? 3 weeks?? That's awesome!!
  17. Here they are! My FI is a graphic designer so he designed them and we printed them at my work and I cut and stapled them myself. We also did a wax seal with my soon to be last name initial. Thank you ladies for all the great ideas!! Angie
  18. Hello Jen!! Good luck getting a date you want. One thing I have learned and probably the hard way is that you can't ever please everyone. You need to do what makes you and your FI happy and the people that really love and care about you will go along with whatever you guys choose. It's easier said than done, I know. That is so great your parents are fluent in Spanish. I'm sure that will definitely come in handy during the planning and when you are there! Let us all know what you decide!
  19. Aly, I'm going to give you one guess whether or not I've heard from the manager!!! HA Heck no!! I emailed Daniela today with some questions ... actually questions I've already asked and never got an answer for but one of then is the calculator. The new wedding packages actually look like they'd be cheaper but won't be able to tell until we get the calculator!! Uggh! Lauren is an El Dorado bride now I am so excited to hear about Ktchi's wedding too. All the reviews on Trip Advisor around weddings have been very positive. I'm trying not to stress since I'll be there next month and can hopefully bang out all the details then but still would like an idea!
  20. Ha!! Very true! I've heard the WC at Jade is more responsive. Maybe because they don't have as many weddings ... not sure.
  21. Cherms, I belive Sapphire now does 2 a day as well. I would suggest emailing the WC on the website to check your date and time.
  22. Also, have you guys read the most recent reviews on TA? They're great!! Makes me feel so much better!
  23. No since they are staying at the resort. If they do ask, I'll just say they are friends of ours. Negotiate as well. She did with me! Not sure what your budget is but they are very reasonable and will give you a CD with all the pictures. We'll make our own album. Good luck!
