  1. Hi guys! I just got back from our wedding in T&C and it was amazing & beautiful there! We got married @ the Beaches Resort & used Tropical Imaging as well with David as our photographer. I have my review up under the wedding reviews section & there is a link to the blog and a few of our pictures in my sig below. Good luck planning but it's a gorgeous island so you can't go wrong.
  2. Hey Meli! We decided no laptop but I did take my Blackberry in case of emergency & to check in on my grandmother who was at home watching our dogs. I was glad we didn't take it, we had so much fun being "disconnected"
  3. Sounds good...it's been cold & raining at home since we got back so it just makes me want to hop on a plane more!
  4. Chrissy (Girasole)'s photos just went up on Tropical Imaging blog Here are Chrissy's photos by Tropical Imaging Chrissy and Jeremiah “Island Escape” | Brilliant by Tropical Imaging http://www.brilliant.tc/2010/05/chri...island-escape/ David did a great job & was so much fun to work with!
  5. Hi Christy, we also did Beaches T&C and loved it! Yes it's a family resort vs a couples resort but we still had a great time and the beaches were beautiful. DH & I have been seriously looking at St. Lucia for our honeymoon next year because it just looks amazing with the volcano & the excursions that are available.
  6. Ha! Congrats! You will love your photos no matter what photographer you use, they are all great! Of course we used Dave & thought he was great. I know Meagan used Ileana & I think Winnie did too. Kelly (she's there now) has Dave as well. I think you will be very happy with your decision, I know we were. Thanks for posting mine Krys!
  7. welcome to the forums!
  8. You have to purchase a disk from them to use their photos which can be expensive. That's why we went with Tropical Imaging & did our photos the day before. The photos that TI did vs what Beaches did aren't even comparible, TI's are so much better quality.
  9. Have your mom call the airline to correct the ticket, they are pretty strict about the passport & ticket matching through security in the US. My ticket originally said "Chrissy" so I had to call & put my full name on so it matched my passport. Take some Airborne! We were so tired before we left & started that the day before & made it the entire time without getting sick.
  10. Welcome Kathleen! The resort is amazing and I wish I could go back!
  11. Hi Kath! We just got back on the 12th. The we used Tropical Imaging for photos the day before the wedding but then purchased a disk of 10 pictures the resort photographer took on the day of the wedding. They were $20 a photo to add to a disk (a little pricy) but they turned out ok. Here are a few of them. Let me know if you have more questions.
  12. Congrats Amy! I am so glad you had a great time! I miss the swim up bars too, ha!
  13. Karen, we went through 4 bottles of the SPF 70 & 80 spray suntan lotion so make sure you pack a lot. I did my best to avoid getting burnt before the wedding but it is definitely hard down in the Islands.
  14. Congrats & good luck planning!
  15. A few years ago I went to Jamaica in April & it rained a few times but nothing long...they were all short storms that blew over quickly then it got sunny again. According to my DH that's what happens all the time in the islands (I haven't been to many, ha!).
  16. I think this really depends on what you prefer. I didn't wnat a veil mainly because I knew we were getting married by the beach & it's windy so I didn't want to fuss with it the entire ceremony...I was so glad I made this decision but I also think it's how you vision yourself.
  17. I am slowly getting back into things, I think the worst part is traveling & this week I have a lot of "road" time. I am hoping to get our checks cashed later today & I did my thank you cards for people that attended & sent cards this weekend. The good news...DH & I had Thur-Sun off together before the start of this week so we got to go shopping for our new mattress ( gift to ourselves) and then our splurge...we upgraded our camper from a 20 foot to 28 foot haha!
  18. We booked a year & a half in advance and were at the resort 4 days prior to getting married. This was mainly because in Turks we had to be there 3 full days to get married on the island. Good luck planning!
  19. Congrats!! Welcome to the forums!
  20. We were just down in Turks (where Krys is) and I am a redhead with very fair skin...we used spf 70 or 80 religiously (every 2-3 hours) plus I really limited my time in the sun between 12-3 by sitting in the shade or under umbrellas, etc. I got a little pink on my legs but no burns & I undertand sun poisoning, had it many times so I was so happy not to get burnt too bad. I used Neutrogena sport face & a neutrogena spray waterproof suntan lotion.
