  1. We did our STD's 11 months out. We had a few people contact us to say congrats, only two definite no's and a lot of people assume we know they are coming. If I can get the invites out by April 5th... that's exactly 7 months. Which also gives me a few weekends in there to work on them.
  2. Alright ladies... Groomzilla struck again!! This time it's on the timing of the invitations... We are 8 months out, I was hoping to have them in the mail by end of March, early April. FI thinks I am way behind on this... But is 6 months out not the norm? Even then, I'm a month ahead.... He doesn't see it this way. I'm trying to calm the Virgo Groomzilla... How far out did everyone else do them?

  4. Amy, Have a glass of wine. I always find I remember things and things become more clear once I've had a glass. That's a glass... things are completely the opposite with a bottle. But judging by the situation... I might recommend a bottle for tonight!

  6. My FI and I are doing P90X together which is awesome! We challenge each other and push one another when we just want to stop. Tonight we did the cardio. Holy crap! It kicked our A$$es and I love it! I'm sore but it's an amazing feeling! We're doing the lean plan, eating clean and still doing cardio , Zumba and body pump at the gym. We're on week two, day two.
  7. Just did P90X Cardio... it kicked my A$$ but I feel amazing!

I (Heart) Target. Sincerely, Deprived Canadian

We pre-purchased tickets for Saturday, got there early to line up for good seats... got great seats, bought some popcorn and then lights dim... and fire alarm goes off. Theater fills with smoke!!! There was a grease fire in the popcorn machine. We got evacuated and didn't get to see the movie. It made for an interesting date night.
  12. Things are magically on sale for me quite often.... hehe With all the hassles and frustration of getting people to book for your DW, do you secretly sometimes wish you'd just eloped?
  13. Twilight Series... If you we're given $10,000 but you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you do with it?

  15. Wow! AS forum has had a busy couple of days. I just found the time right now to catch up, I tried at work today... there was way too much to read! Welcome to all the new AS brides! I started P90X this week... ouch! Burn baby burn!! I've been spending most of my time this week figuring the program out (I'll be honest - I'm a little scared!). I've been super productive this week. Completed a few mock invites and made revisions. Hopefully will be completing the final tonight. Our friend who's a graphic designer has been awesome with completing revisions right away and even providing great suggestions. The monogram he did looks fab! The invites should be on their way to the printers within the next week. I can slowly feel the weight lifting off my shoulders with that one. We decided on our package. It's a package offered by our TA. Exotic gazebo, chairs for 30, bouquet & boutinere, 2 tier cake, private dinner with open bar, mexican fiesta cocktail party, caribe photo package, champagne, group dinner for the group on another night in spoons, champagne breakfast, honeymoon package etc. I'm hoping I can keep up this productivity!!! Happy Wedding Day Lolo!!!
  16. Dirty Dancing If you could invite one famous person to your wedding, who would it be? Dead or alive

Our priest is awesome and said he would marry us before we went to AS. The ceremony will be very simple like getting blessed and going to the Justice of Peace. We are going to invite our moms but are thinking we should invite our siblings. People especially our families, have questioned us about making it legal in Mexico and we have just avoided the answer. What do you girls think and how would you answer your guests questions about making it legal? I feel bad not telling the truth especially to our immediate family. We've decided to keep our legal ceremony a complete secret, even from our parents. We want our wedding at the AS to be our wedding and everyone else to look at it that way also. My FI was having a conversation with a coworker who mentioned that they went to DW and the couple had already gotten married, some of the guests we're pretty upset when they found out. I guess you just never know how some people will react. I want to do something fun like a cheesy wedding chapel in Niagara Falls or Las Vegas. My FI just wants to do city hall. I'm still trying to win this argument!

If you go to the Karisma hotels website, and click on the weddings, then the private event banquet package, they have completely changed all of the menus, and they are over double/triple what I had been planning on paying (I was using one of the set menus). The reason I was concerned was because I sent in my details sheet last week with the menu on it, and when Tiffany sent it back, she had taken it off. So I resent it to her again, and now I'm just waiting to hear from her. I haven't paid off my balance, so I hope she doesn't tell me that the menus have changed--I really don't think I could afford to have a private reception with the new prices posted.... Ouch! Are you kidding me? I don't get how they can do this to people? This week when people were mentioning their TA pushing Karisma... it happened to us with the our TA in Canada. We told her what we wanted and she kept bringing up Karisma, how wonderful they are, that if she were to get married all over again this is where she would do it... hmmm I wonder how much commission they actually pay the TA's or what perks they get from them? I'm getting really worried about all off these changes and the way they have no issue implementing changes without informing anyone ahead of time or informing them once they've taken place. It's dispointing to plan your dream wedding, get exicted about something and then to have it taken away. Not cool.
  19. Ummm what?? When did I suddenly become a member? YAY!!! No more Noob - No more Junior... that's right I'm a Member here! That's about one of the only good things that's happened this week. Unfortunately my company had a bad year, which means no bonuses. Pay raises are minimal. I did get promoted, but based on the pay raises... it didn't turn out how I'd hoped. I know I should never count on a bonus but part of me was hoping I'd have a little more money for some more fun things in the wedding budget. C'est la vie...
  20. Wow! I had a lot to catch up on today. Taylor.. that is terrible. My fingers are crossed for you. I really hope Karisma opens their eyes and stops being so backwards with all of these conditions that they suddenly impose. It's not right and not fair to to us and our guests to re-nag on anything promised. Lolo - All the best to you! Have a wonderful time and enjoy every minute!!!
