  1. Ideavila, Â Would you mind posting your song list? I'm running into the same predicament...need processional songs and do NOT want ave maria...thanks!
  2. Oh my! You gals are having dress fitting already??? I still need to lose a few...so far have lost 8 lbs in 3 weeks, and figured I could at least lose 12 more before my first fitting...I was going to give my seamstress 1 month to do the alterations...is this cutting it close? Things I have done: - invitations (well sort of...I just ordered them, now need to assemble and finish the diy parts) - BM/GM gifts and attire - wedding shoes - booked hair/makeup with Fernando! - booked mariachi for ceremony - booked band for reception Things I'm working on: - favors- making custom shot glasses - seating charts/escort cards Things I need to do: - write the ceremony and my vows! - find our rings - get after people to go buy their passports already Time is going by so fast!
  3. Hi Kittenheart, I just sent you a PM for the robe, glasses and flowers
  4. If you don't use the red runner, they'll also paint the walkway white for you, I believe this has been free in the past. You can buy some bags of flower petals and sprinkle them on, I think that would look really nice! Though maybe the petals would all fly away with so much wind there...hmmm I hired Julieta, an outside WC and florist to decorate the gazebo for me. Some of my guests are older and had issues with a sandy wedding, plus I LOVE my shoes and don't want to be barefoot....so I'm having the reception in the ballroom. Julieta is also decorating it for me. 3 months to go! woo hoo!
  5. there is extensive info on juan in the forum if u do a search, or check out the reviews section for dreams cancun or dreams riviera maya as he's the resort photog. Good luck!
  6. Thanks for the pictures link! You look amazing, I love the pic in the waves! Congrats!
  7. Chris, these pics are so super helpful! And you look super cute in all the pics, especially when you got your hair did with pink flower and all Thanks so much for posting these!
  8. Just to be honest, not to purposely make anyone else nervous, Fernando did book myself and ddemayo for the same date, our weddings are both at 3pm, and he told BOTH of us he'd be there at 11am....how he will manage that is a mystery to me, our weddings are at least a 20 minute drive apart... When I asked him about this, he told me he hadn't yet booked another wedding for my day...I confirmed with ddemayo, a fellow BDWer that she had indeed book and paid the deposit. We haven't figured it out completely yet, and I'm sure it'll work out, but just putting this out there so you guys are careful with him, and be upfront with him about the schedule. I know he has a great reputation, but sometimes good people make mistakes too.

  11. p.s. ddemayo, I just PM'd you, I booked Fernando too for the 13th.....hmmmm....uh-ohhhh
  12. Hi! I'm getting married in Dreams Cancun on Nov 13th! Getting there the 10th and staying until the 21st...suuuuper excited! Wouldn't it be cool if we could all coordinate decorations (vases, chair ties, parasols) and buy them from each other WHILE we were all down in the RM, rather than lug all the stuff down, use it, then lug it back to sell in back home. Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I would much rather take a cab to pick up stuff from another resort than buy it back here and have to take it down. And likewise, would rather sell my stuff while I was down there rather than have to pack it up and bring it back up.... just some thoughts
  13. Thanks for the review! You looked sooo beautiful, I looove your dress! And the gazebo decor, I loooove the flowers and the tulle/organza thing, adds so much. Congrats again for being a Mrs now and having such a gorgeous wedding day
  14. Congrats Starfish bride! I know your day will be PERRRRFECT! Have a great trip! And peterpanpixie....thanks for the generous pic offer! I would love to see this new desires bar...kind of excited about the renovation!
  15. Wow! That sucks! I was really excited about Azucar too, I loooove salsa, in fact salsa dancing is where I met FI. I'm sure the guys in our group are going to be more excited about a sports bar though...it's good and bad. P.S. If it makes you feel better, Salsa is not "real" Mexican music anyway, it's Cuban/Puerto Rican/Dominican music which the spanish speaking world enjoys. Mexican music is Alejandro Fernandez, Los tigres del norte, Rancheras, Mariachi, Norteñas, and Rock en Español
  16. I just planned my dad's semi-formal 50th Bday celebration, and since I'm in the wedding zone, I went all out...got some great stuff but my wedding is royal blue and fuschia. All this stuff will be available to ship on June 7th I have: 6 Damask Tablecloths, 120" (for 60" 10-person tables) $25 each 2 Damask Table runners (for cake table/escort cards table) $7 each 12- 10" red criss-cross lanterns $3.50 each 12- 16" red criss-cross lanterns $4 each Then I found these amazing lighting sets, they are 8 feet long white wire, with a socket every 2 feet for a lantern, they cost me $20 each in bulk, plus the light bulbs. The lanterns will be lit only one night, so the light bulbs will still be good. 6- 8 foot lighting wires (with 4 sockets each) $15/each or 6- 8foot lighting wires with 25 bulbs $20/each set Shipping is whatever flat rate box the stuff fits into.
  17. I love these! But I need about 50....mind sharing where you bought them so I can buy the additional ones that I need? Thanks!
  18. Just had to share, makes me want to get married at Xcaret...too bad it was waaaay out of my budget, but definitely amazing! Joe Simon does amazing work, stalking his vimeo is one of my favorite passtimes http://vimeo.com/11904853
  19. Weren't there a whole bunch of brides in April and May that surfaced with the whole gazebo freakout? What ever happened? Anyone care to tell us about your wedding? We'd all love another review!
  20. do you know about the search function? It's on the top right of the forum. Here is the DPA thread with over 200 pages of info! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo.../index205.html
  21. And a quick posting pic tutorial (because it took me a while to figure it out)... 1. Find the image u want to post online, if it's from your digi cam, u need to upload it to Picasa or Shutterfly or Snapfish or Photobucket or WHATEVER program you choose 2. Right click on the image u want to post, choose the option "copy image location." 3. Go to your post. To insert the pic, use this super simple HTML code: (note: no spaces between the things in parentheses and the pasted image location). That's it! Voila your pic is posted
  22. I don't have facebook access at work so this was driving me crazy, thank goodness for cell phones, here it is for all those in the same boat, I think it looks gorgeous!

For non-urgent questions, it can take up to 5weeks. For urgent questions, like reserving the date, it should take less than 2 weeks, and if you haven't heard back, try calling them. Since your wedding is next year, you're probably not on the top of her to do list, there are about 5-10 weddings a week in the spring/summertime!

I have the ultimate package so if i am not mistaken it's included..right? Thanks in advance! Yes! I'm doing the same, Cecilia said it was no problem to have Juan come by on a different day for my TTD instead. You only get him for an hour or so, this is what's included as free in the package.
  25. These are beautiful and look so realistic! Unfortunately I only need 5 BM's bouquets. If you do end up splitting these up let me know, I might even take all 7 BM bouquets to make it easier.
