  1. Okay ladies, I'm in and I'm pumped! Here is my commitment today- I will go home from work and hop on that elliptical trainer while my supper is in the oven. I may even throw in some crunches. Let me make the offer that I've already made in the regular April brides thread here too- if anyone has anything get-fit related that they'd like researched, post your question on here and I will do my best to help you out (librarian, so access to lots of books, etc...). Let me also add that if you're stuck for motivation head out to your friendly neighborhood public library for cookbooks, exercise and diet books and maybe even workout videos (that's my library PSA for the day lol). Good luck everyone!
  2. No worries- I'm seriously checking out that book now so it was a bit self interested too.
  3. Quote: Yes I want a tighter butt!! what's the best way to do that! Hmmm... *pushes up glasses while shushing unruly patrons* you are looking for the "glute raise" according to Matt Roberts book tight abs and buns. You might want to google it to get the idea, but it's kind of an all fours thing while you raise one leg backwards. Lol....
  4. Quote: Start checking any of your fitness mags that you might have lying around under your coffee mugs or holding up that wobbly table (ha!!) to see if they have any quick little dailies that might get us started. A little bit goes a long way right? Deal! I'll start looking for tips in books and mags- and if anyone wants me to research something in particular just let me know (I'm a librarian). We're going to be so fit ladies!
  5. Hi and congrats! I actually stayed at NH real arena this past spring and we loved it there. We wanted something a bit different for our wedding but thought the resort was really great. Good choice! I don't know if you've been there yet, but if not let me know if you have any questions at all and I'll do my best to answer them.

    Hello

Congrats to a fellow April bride and Canuck! Happy planning and welcome to the forum- good luck with selecting your resort. I'm sure you'll find lots of info here, this site is a great resource.
  7. Wow- I love your ring, it's very beautiful. Congrats and enjoy your engagement- I remember when I first got my ring I couldn't stop looking at it- you must be feeling the same way right about now. Sounds like you're hitting the ground running with all of your planning- good for you! Good luck with your wedding!
  8. Welcome! April 17th is a great day in my opinion too, it's my FI's birthday. You can't go wrong with April 17th lol. Congrats and have fun planning.
  9. Welcome! Nice to see another April bride. That's so great that you were able to look around at resorts and pick the one that was just right for you two. Good luck and congrats.
  10. All girls. Would you rather have a Chihuahua or a St Bernard?
  11. April brides are definitely the best! Welcome Shannon- sounds like you've got a lot done already!
  12. Dislike- even as a kid- creepy. Large dogs?
  13. Ewww! The foot, I guess. Would you rather have both of your parents move in with you, or just your future MIL.
  14. No! I would care more about who they are than how they look. Would you ever tell your future brother-in-law's gf off, if she really deserved it (tempted myself lol)?
  15. Yes please! I would love to have an exercise thread for us April brides- I need motivation big time, and it would be nice to have a thread with everyone who has the same time line as me (within a few weeks, of coarse). I don't need to lose too much, but I need to get back in shape and tone up big time- strapless dress+flabby arms=ugghh. I also need a kick in the butt to try to eat healthier.
  16. Usually I like the flower girl dresses that match the brides dress but for a destination wedding I think that a dress in your wedding colours would be cute- especially if you've gone with something kind of tropical! I think I would either match her to your dress (ie go with the ivory) or to your wedding colours, personally, just to keep everything looking unified. That's just me, though, I doubt anyone at your wedding will be saying "she's in ivory and the flower girl *gasp!* is in white!!!" you know?
  17. Wow- great choice! It is an absolutely stunning dress and you look so great in it. Congrats on finding your perfect dress- I honestly love it!
  18. No- I hate to drive. Would you ever live above the Arctic circle?
  19. Dog butt licking- at least I don't have to clean that up! Would you rather be always a bit hungry or always a bit tired for the rest of your life?
  20. Well.. if you get married tomorow and just do a civil ceremony, will you regret it? Honestly? If not, then just do it, but if you think you might- seven months is not that long to wait in the grand scheme of things. Especially when you consider the fact that you've already been together for nine years. My FI and I have been together for nearly seven years, living together for nearly six, own a house, joint accounts, common law as far as the insurance/tax man is concerned but to me that is just a reason to make the wedding day special. We've done so much and come so far that we deserve our day-it's a celebration of the commitment that we've spent years building! It's so personal, though, so you just need to really look inside and decide what is right for you and your FI. If you're doing a wedding just to make other people happy when all you want is just to be married already, or just because you feel like it's something you "should" care about- then just go get married and tell everyone to deal with it ! Your right- a vow renewal is a nice, easy thing to do, especially on a cruise, and you can get married now just to have that- seems to me that might be the best, quickest and easiest solution. Good luck- whatever you decide!
  21. I need to get back to working out.. I was doing well but then I got the flu and I've slacked off since then. I agree- six months will be over in no time! Especially when you think that you have Christmas and all of the craziness that comes with that right in the middle... doesn't leave as much time as you'd think!
  22. I agree, normally two weeks might be long, but the first week will just fly by with the wedding. Then you'll want that alone time after.
  23. Like- in moderation. Black coffee?
