Well.. if you get married tomorow and just do a civil ceremony, will you regret it? Honestly? If not, then just do it, but if you think you might- seven months is not that long to wait in the grand scheme of things. Especially when you consider the fact that you've already been together for nine years. My FI and I have been together for nearly seven years, living together for nearly six, own a house, joint accounts, common law as far as the insurance/tax man is concerned but to me that is just a reason to make the wedding day special. We've done so much and come so far that we deserve our day-it's a celebration of the commitment that we've spent years building! It's so personal, though, so you just need to really look inside and decide what is right for you and your FI. If you're doing a wedding just to make other people happy when all you want is just to be married already, or just because you feel like it's something you "should" care about- then just go get married and tell everyone to deal with it ! Your right- a vow renewal is a nice, easy thing to do, especially on a cruise, and you can get married now just to have that- seems to me that might be the best, quickest and easiest solution.
