  1. Yeah! Congratulations Raluca!! Have fun! Cannot wait to read your review!
  2. Gorgeous dress! Wondering if it's still available...
  3. Beautiful wedding. Thank you for posting the review! Could you tell me where you got the starfish necklaces for your bridesmaids?! Thanks!
  4. I'm planning to stay at the Barcelo Palace for my wedding too! We also want to have the dinner at the Palmeras grill. Can guests stay at other hotels in the Barcelo complex and still attend the wedding? Do they require a guest pass? Thank you so much for your review! Your photographs are beautiful!
  5. Gorgeous photos and gorgeous dress!! Perfect for TTD! You are a beautiful couple!
  6. The reason we decided on mexico in the first place was because, somewhat like you, guests will be coming from all over the world. Some of my family who lives a little closer to us asked if we were doing an AHR. I've just told them that we completely understand if they cannot make it to Mexico, but we don't have the resources (time, money, energy) for two weddings! (i.e. destination and at home reception) But everyone is invited to Mexico. So I guess that is how I've skirted the issue. People who cannot make, but who want to celebrate with us, will be able to do so at the wedding shower my grandmother is planning for us.
  7. We'll probably do a super casual welcome dinner or welcome cocktails. In lieu of a rehearsal dinner. It would give guests an opportunity to meet one another and that way they will be a little more relaxed at the wedding!!!
  8. 70 people is a lot! We've had approximately 130 people tell us they are coming?!! We will see when it comes to actually putting down the money though... I'm sending out save the dates with the travel agent's info this weekend.
  9. What a cute idea! Could you email me the template? [email protected] How many posts do we need to open files?!! I'm sooo far away.
  10. I was told today that if you have 35 rooms booked (not people) for 2 or more nights each, then there is a promotional dinner. But this promotional dinner is not on the beach and it is a different menu than the one Sandra got her hands on. Might not even be worth it...
  11. Thank you Diamond Pooch! I sent that question to the wedding coordinator a week ago! It's so nice to get the answer on this forum within 24 hours!! I see you have 47 rooms booked! So exciting! My fiance spoke with the wedding coordinator and heard that there is a free dinner if you book more than 35 rooms. Have you heard this? What does this include? My fiance got the information... but not the details! Thanks!
  12. Does anyone know if having your dinner at the palmeras grill counts as having it on the beach (i.e. strawberry passion package) or counts as having it in a banquet room (i.e. mint breeze package). Thanks!
  13. Congratulations!! We are thinking about having our wedding in Cozumel. What reception / ceremony location did you decide on? How is planning going?

I got 100 postcards for $30.00 including tax and S&H. They look fantastic-exactly like a postcard you'd find in a store. Send me a PM if you'd like to the see pdf file the company sent me. Do you have a picture of the postcard you made? Just to get an idea. Sounds great!!

Has any past brides hired a Mexican Photographer since the policy of no external vendors changed? *I hate having to ask these questions... it's just so wrong. Well... 60 of my guests are going to be from Mexico, 30 from Oregon and 30 from New York. I've told all of the hotels this and not one has mentioned a rule about not allowing mexican residents into the resorts... a rule like that would be against the law in the US... and I would imagine it would be against the law in mexico too. There must be a communication break down and your TA misinterprets/misunderstands something. Must just be a rule about outside vendors - and I'm guessing the rule applies no matter what country the vendor is from.

  18. My name is Allison - my fiance is Gabriel. We are getting married in Mexico in August 2010. Expect ~150 guests (75 from US and 75 from Mexico). We can't decide on a location but are very worried about the rain August can bring. Thus, we need a location with a roof... just in case. It seems this website will prove to be extremely helpful! I think I will be on here A LOT! Any advice?!! Recommendations
