  1. I rarely go to Wal-Mart but that is about the only shopping available where my family lives. I found some LED candles reasonably priced as well as some really nice shells, sand, etc...Not sure on if I will buy them yet. I got lost on a website about a month ago and need to revisit to finalize ideas!
  2. Any ideas on guest names for seating arrangements? I don't want them blowing away in the wind on the beach!
  3. LED candles may work for you if you choose to have a reception outside. I am thinking of using them!
  4. Ladies this is an AWESOME thread! I have seen many new photographers that I had never heard of before now. Many new choices! I haven't had luck finding a photographer within our budget. I appreciate new options!
  5. I saw these Lynn. Thanks for posting for everyone here! I think I was more focused on the fact that the photographers were cheaper than what I have been finding anywhere else!
  6. I would love to have a BBQ. I wonder if I can somehow get my family to see the wisdom and fun in that rather than a full blown formal reception/dance because I agree - a DW is supposed to be cheaper than a big formal wedding back home!
  7. Thanks traceysteve! Good luck! I am sure that you will figure it out. Or maybe give it to an 8 year old to work their magic? My nieces and nephews seem to have mystical powers when it comes to technology. And I really am not joking!
  8. Hi Ladies! What menu is everyone choosing for their reception? For those who have already had their wedding, what did you choose and what would you recommend? My FI and I are stuck on this one...Any help is appreciated! Oh! And for those who have already been there and done that, do you have any pics you could post??? Thanks!
  9. AudEv2012, here is a link to the map that is listed on the Unofficial Barcelo site: http://www.unofficial-barcelo-maya.com/userfiles/file/map.pdf. The Palmeras Grill is number 34 and the chapel is listed as 26. They are a little bit of distance from one another, however, I would ask your WC about transfers for your guests from the chapel to the grill as I have read that these are available and can be arranged by your WC in advance. Good luck!
  10. I will try this in the coming weeks and let you know if I need more help. Right now, it sounds complicated but maybe when I am in the app, then it will make sense! Thanks!
  11. I have not loaded the app yet but I highly doubt you are mentally challenged! You are stressed and that makes it difficult to accomplish what should be a simple task. Take a deep breath and a long drink and relax! Pucca, where are you??? Because I will need you when I get the app as well!!!
  12. I think these would look great with your dress and you are right, people will likely not seen them very well anyway.
  13. Ok, I ordered my dress and love it and had no interest in a TTD session. However, that being said, now I am thinking that the less expensive option is to fly in a photographer from home and rent a room for them. Since they will be in Mexico for a longer period of time, I am now thinking about a TTD. I don't want to trash my beautiful dress so now I think I will need to find a dress for cheap (that still looks nice!) for a TTD. Back to the drawing board!!!
  14. Choosing your wedding dress is so difficult but I am sure that you will be quite happy with your choice! 15. I haven't really put much thought into the AHR yet. My mom will not be attending our DW so she is trying to turn our AHR into a wedding. It is quite exhausting just telling her over and over that we will not be spending a wedding budget on an AHR and that our AHR will be very informal and on a much smaller budget. We are saving for a house and my mom is on a fixed income (my dad died earlier this year) so where she thinks the money for this large extravaganza is going to appear is beyond me. All I know is that her nagging is making me avoid planning an AHR for as long as I can put it off!
  16. Kellygrrrl I worked in a bridal shop a few years ago. They had their own seamstresses on site so I saw quite a few bustles. A talented seamstress can create a bustle that looks natural on your gown - not just a hook and eye. I would look into what options they have beyond that or inquire online about other seamstresses and what they can create that would blend with the style of your gown and not scream out that it is part of the bustle. Just a thought.
  17. My gown is in ivory and and champagne. Ivory is definitely the better color for me as well so I would not worry about it too much. I am sure that you will look like a very beautiful bride on your special day!
  18. Keep in mind if you do cut a train into it, then you will need to either carry it around or have a bustle created for it. I personally think it is lovely as is and very bridal and great for a destination wedding, Good luck!
  19. These are great! I need to decide on our invites. Eek. Seems like it never ends with all of the decisions and planning!
