  1. oh yeah, I never even thought of the sand weight too... I called sunwing vacations to see how much it would cost for an extra suitcase and they told me it will be $10/kg.. that's crazy expensive so I am going to have to start warning people (especially ones with little kids) to take big suitcases so I can give stuff to them to take..

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.. apparently you don't have to pay the fee if your order arrives by air, just with ground deliveries you have to pay..

I ordered my sashes and table runners from weddinglinensdirect.com and they use UPS to deliver. They charge a brokerage fee to any deliveries to Canada.. I didn't know this because apparently you can ask the linens comp. to use a different courier..then you shouldn't have that fee COD. Next time I order anything that uses UPS (like the immodium and gatorade I ordered today), I am having it delivered to my FBIL's house in Texas and he will send it up here.. such a pain in the ass...
  4. I just ordered 40 sashes from weddinglinensdirect.com and they were about 80cents each. cheap cheap but be careful when ordering them. If you can, get them to courier them to you through fed ex or any company other than UPS. UPS charges a brokerage fee (which they don't tell you when you order) and charge it to you COD...again which I didn't know... so as of right now, my sashes are here but I haven't been home either attempt to deliver and they want $14 brokerage fee for a $40 order.. apparently you can argue this and they will lower the fee, but WTF?? It should be on the website or something.. otherwise I would have specified a different company.. guess I got off topic there for a minute and vented instead of helping! sorry about that.
  5. Don't forget about Christmas!! At least I have to worry about that too.. Also, I realized I only have 8 weeks left!! Holy sh*t!
  6. I am also having both parents walk me down the aisle. I don't think it's weird at all, it is becoming a lot more popular now....

They said they do a mock-up with the 3 different styles of writing and picture I chose, send them to me and then I decide on the final product. I did order them from discountmugs.com. FYI, the blue mugs with palm trees all over them are on backorder by a few months, so if any of you are looking at those, place your order now rather than wait too long like I did. My mugs I chose...oops, I mean that WE chose are pretty plain and simple: black with white writing.. I wanted to put turquoise or pink writing, but the FI said no.. (he didn't spank me when he said no, I just wanted to be able to use this icon)! lol
  9. Hi, Just to let you know, I won't be needing any of the heart placecard holders...
  10. HEy, How did you do your translations cards? cut and paste from the internet, or a book?
  11. Sorry, I didn't realize it's a DW for dummies book... oops thought it was for spanish...
  12. I am interested in the table card holders.. would only need 6 though. As well as the spanish for dummies.. how many of those do you have?

Asking $8 for the Advil (0.26 cents per pack), $8 for the Immodium (0.44 cents per pack) and $5 for the MediLyte (0.17 cents per pack). This was just the price of the packages and doesn't include any part of the shipping or duties that were paid for the whole order. Where did you order this stuff from?
  14. I just ordered my travel mugs... not the ones I originally wanted because they were on B/O, but hopefully these will be ok.. DOes anyone know if the hotel providses white table linens?? We don't have to pay extra for that too do we?
  15. I know people who stayed at DPC and said the Bordeaux was one of their favourites... the food was really good. That's also where we're having our reception/dinner.

  17. Hey Girlies, GOt my TTD dress yesterday.. slightly too small but am hoping to trim down a bit more and my Mom is going to put some ribbon in the sides to fit. For only $40 it is good enough!

See if i have to rent extra linens due to having more ppl than expected show up.. 5. Get a coffee bar set up for FI family 6. Get some chair sashes for the ceremony 7. Pick out shoes for the flower girl 8. Contact the cake guy double check the design is going to be made per FI request 9. Finish the damn music list 10. Contact the venue about having the ceremony on the beach to get the proper permits. 11. Keep myself SANE through all of this! You will be fine! Take a big breath and tackle one task, get it done and cross it off... don't look at the whole list, just one item.. I have been starting to panic too about all the things we need to get done. We don't even have our bridesmaid dresses yet (just my sister) or our groomsmen stuff or groom's stuff... I (oops, I mean we) have decided to save some $$ we are going to get married the day before we leave and do a symbolic down there (way less paperwork too).. still feel guilty about this but in the big picture I guess we'll be married either way right? Also, I haven't even started my AHR stuff which we really need to do as we want to have it in the spring when there will be no possibility of snowstorms etc. and everyone can come.. You guys seem much more organized than me!

We were looking at La Baracuza or whatever it's called for a 2-3hr cruise... they have different packages, but I'm still trying to decide and figure out if we can afford it.

Tulle is super cheap (and light) to take with you.. Michaels always has 40-50& off coupons so it's worth it.. I think the hotel should provide that too, but I'll bet they charge as with everything else. If they charge than I will bring my own. Still haven't picked up that TTD dress yet.. never heard back from the girl yet.. why do I always have this luck FOr any of you Canadian brides, Kitchen stuff plus is having tealights (clear) on sale : $1/30 pack!! cheap cheap, love that, I bought 4 of them..

I wasn't planning on doing anything like that but it looks gorgeous! what about that aisle border?? Jennifer, I am not planning on having it look quite like that, my sashes are black organza.. I actually just thought about what colour tulle to have on the chuppah... didn't really think black would be good for that.. maybe just have white tulle with the chairs being white and then for the reception use my black table runners and sashes... hmmm gotta think about that. I did buy hot pink flower petals to use down the aisle and on my tables... I really need to figure out how to post pics to show you guys...
